A question regarding new store content and old patches

Forgive me if this has been addressed before, but I did a search and couldn't find anything about this particular subject.

I am not patched up beyond patch 1.39 due to glitching issues. Does this effect my ability to use newer store content in my game? While I'm fairly sure that I would need to be fully patched for the newer store worlds, I am not as certain on, say, the newer clothing sets.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

To me, it would make sense that any item without new scripting should be fine. Clothing, couches, hair, and the like are probably okay because they already exist in the game, but just have a different look. Any special content like the new worlds or the new premium content most likely will not work, because the new patches likely include fixes to that content. I can't guarantee any of this because I always stay patched, but this is what makes sense to me.

I appreciate the response. I think I'll give it a shot--I've been eyeing that Tudor set but a bit wary since, again, it came out after the more recent patches. I'll try grabbing one piece first and give it a try. If it doesn't work, I'm only out a few simpoints.

An update on this: I purchased one of the newer dresses from the Tudor collection, however attempting to download it gives me a "Download Manifest Server Error". To double-check that the issue was on my end and not the store I attempted to download an old item, and that worked fine.

It was then that I saw the caveat: "Please note that you need FREE game update 1.5.0.021000 in order for this content to work." In other words, even create-a-sim content will not work if it was placed in the store after your current patch level.

1.5 is actually a patch prior to 1.39 just so you are a aware.   1.50 or 1.55 are the two latest updates.

The most recent store content that I have that works is from patch 1.5.0.015000. I just tried a download requiring 1.5.0.019000 and it also failed. Exactly how these numbers relate to the game patches I do not know.
