Oh, don't misunderstand, I am totally hooked on this game and would never underestimate EA, but all these games coming out at once remind me of a feeding frenzy, it is like "more, more, more" lol.

Yes and I'm glad. I'm sure there are more players like me. I tend to play obsessively when a new EP comes out. The drawback to that is I also get bored after a while. I'm defiantly a "been there, done that" person. I'm getting to that point now with Ambitions.

Just read the article all the way through.  Can we say "Age of Empires" or "Ultima" or "Civilization"?  I'm ok with that because I love those games as well, but after you conquered everyone it did get old.  Still, if it is Simish enough it could be great combining the Sims concept with this type of game concept.  Correct me if I'm wrong on my estimation it will be more like that.

I will probably wait until the reviews are out and listen to what other people are saying before I'd buy this. I like RPGs, but except for the conquering aspect (which may or may not play a large part in the gameplay) Civilization (4, PC version, the one with the Leonard Nimoy voice bits) doesn't seems like a good comparison at all. It's a turn-based strategy game. Nothing I've read makes this game sound like that. I've never played 'Age of Empires' and I played an 'Ultima' game over a decade ago, so I don't think I can really comment on that one. And if you got tired of conquering everyone (on the hardest setting, yet) you could always try to win one of the other ways. When I come across my disc, I've got to install it on this PC. It's gotten me through the lean times. Not that I foresee one of those occurring soon.  ;D

Ah, Ambitions is still pretty "fresh" for me, I've still not played all the new professions yet.

In the old Sim2 days, there seemed to be a pretty solid six-month cycle on Stuff Packs / Expansion Packs. Seems Race Car / Fancy Car Stuff is out in early September, and the Up-Past-Bedtime expansion pack's out in late October.

EA's definitely shipping a great deal of content for the Sims3 in a short period ... I wonder if they have any sneaky release tricks up their collective sleeves for Christmas 2010?

Spring? Spring is next month for me. They just don't cater for us aussies. ::)  :P   :D

Haha, sometimes I forget that not even timezone differs the times in countries from other timezones, but so do the seasons. Spring, we already passed in Holland. It is summer now and the autumn is knocking on the door. If this stuff comes out in spring it either is already here, or we have to wait a lot of time before it arrives.
Of course that's the reason why also vacation times differ from country to country. How stupid, I've never linked those two facts together. :P

You play M2TW? Great! But I don't think it'll be like that (it's not quite family friendly) and it doesn't have anything to do with heroes and, very important, sims!

I meant the strategy feel of it, building an empire etc.

Yes, that is what I am wondering myself too. And especially if so, how far will EA put depth in that new gameplay. Because there are already a lot of strategy building city simulation games out there, but putting this back in The Sims makes me curious how gamers will respond to this.
Maybe you as a king need to plan out a good working kingdom with enough resources to feed and pay your citizens? Sounds like a step back to Sim City in my opinion. Could be nice to play though. But it could be a lot to handle too, because you already have to take care of a dependent sims yourself.
Sort of micro- and macro menesment.

I know! A patch that fixes everything in the Sims 3, SPs, EPs, and patches that were supposed to help but just made things worse!  ::)

I'm just kidding. Though I do hope they're considering the problems players are having and try to fix them by the end of the year. Not that everything can be fixed; too many different computer set-ups. A gal can dream, though....

Neofelis nebulosa,

:D I guess you are dreaming your Christmas Dreams early!

Yeah, I give EA credit, the fact the Sims runs as well as it does, most of the time, is a testament to the work they've put it on the game.

I love the medieval times. Wonder if we can have our own Inquisition and do stuff with it.

Welcome Axe! I don't think there will be an inquisition; it's not very 'family friendly'... But maybe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gldlyTjXk9A&translated=1 or maybe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSe38dzJYkY&feature=related

Thanks, and yea I know, torture isn't exactly family friendly. But still, I really like medieval times and with or without combat, religious fanatics and etc... it has a great potential.
