@Swede:  We wouldn't have a forum for Sims Midieval, just a guide.  At most, we might put up one board dedicated to Sims Midieval here on our Sims 3 Forum.

I'm so excited!!! I think this game looks really fun :) I love that time period and really think the idea of quests sounds great! I hope it actually comes out, I feel like sometimes when companies release so little information it's because the game is still in early development and something might happen to change the game completely or stop it from coming out at all :(

I'm just really excited too. I bought the castle kit and all the furniture from EA last year. I've never had Sims that seemed to fit in that era so I've not used the kit yet. I've been working on bringing kids from the past with the time machine so I can have appropriately dressed Sims but this is going to be even better!

I think that would be a good idea. I'd really like to try and play around with Sims 2 sometimes.

I know. When my first "kid" came back in the time machine dressed like this I was so excited, but those costumes on the cover art look even better.

Ooh, me likey, Amok. I may have to do that when my next generation gets off the ground.

I just have to say I will buy this game, but I can hope we can make entire families for our heroes. I'd really like to make a tavern and have a family run business, with a man as an inn keeper, a wife and two daughters for waitresses or bar maids, and maybe another kid for a hero later on...

I also want some monsters, like a dragon and/or werewolf, and I definitely want a horse, because there's no way I will ever enjoy running around on my own two feet from Mordor to Timbuktu in a RPG. A ride is always my first concern in playing a RPG, and I want one available from the beginning, UNLIKE most other games. I hope that there are animals to interact with, even if it's just wolves and badgers you fight off, and hopefully your mount. Otherwise...Oh PLEASE just act like a car, oh PLEASE....

It would also be fun if they made references to other RPG games, like Legend of Zelda and Fable...I really hope it's not like Fable, though, because one round of giant wasps and saving the land from Jack of Blades is enough for me. It would be nice if they just implemented the design from Sims, and made fighting similar to martial arts matches.

RunAmokSims, remember me mentioning "Expansion Pack" / "Stuff Pack" enthusiasm a while ago? " I think I said I was either "old and grumpy" or "jaded?"  ;)

I think The Sims Medieval is going to be a (and EA is marketing it as such) a COMPLETELY different game "experience" than the Sims3.

It smells to me like it's going to be some strange mixture of Real-Time Strategy (think Civilization or StarCraft) with some opportunities for cut-scene rewards (animation scenes like in the Sims2 when a baby was born).

It's not clear from anything I've read anywhere the standard Sims "build" tools will be available, much less the level of control and "Sim Interaction" we're used to playing the Sims.

I sorta' feel about Medieval as I did about the Sims Life Stories ... EA leveraging the love and enthusiasm for its Sim's series off to other "gaming environments" for marketing purposes ... and making a USD / buck.

The best recent info I've read on Medieval is here.

I wish EA well with this (remember, the entire Sims franchise was nearly written-off because it was just a "doll-house!") ... but unless all the stuff they make for Medieval is available at The Store and / or in an expansion pack ...

 I'll just point a hose at them and say "get off my lawn!" hehe

Now let's see, Fast Lane in September, Late Night in October and Medieval in January. None of them are really near something I can claim eg birthday, mothers day or Christmas. Seems I'm going to be making hubby a lot of cups of tea to pay for all these lol

Happytime I would probably be happy either way. I haven't played a lot of games on my PC but I've loved quest games like Castlevania on a game console. If you read the news blurb at the Sim site  http://www.thesims3.com/community/news   they do mention building a kingdom. I'm hoping it might be a combination of The Sims and a quest game.

Yeah, well as I typed, I wish them luck with the game. I just don't think it's going to much resemble the current "Sims" play experience, so I'm not much interested in it within that context.  :)

Did anyone see the new preview of TS:M on Gamespot?  It sounds...interesting.  Apparently it has a totally different look and a "more intimate" playing experience.  Unfortunately, it sounds like you can only control one Sim at a time, not a whole family.  And the gameplay is less open-ended and more quest-oriented.

I guess my main concern is this will just be like any other RPG, but with The Sims image stamped onto it.  But I'll wait and see, it could be a refreshing new game if handled right...
