I can see it and I would probably buy it. I've loved the costumes that have been unlocked with the time machine

Looks like EA has done an official press release for it now, and it's currently slated to be released in spring of 2011.  They've created a website for it thesimsmedieval, although it doesn't really have anything other than a promise that more info will be available later.

Typical that on the official EA site I was on that had the cover and a couple other pics, they listed it as January. Somebody's been stuck in their cubicle too long if they think January is in the springtime.  ::)

Here's the link with the press kit and downloadable photos:

http://www.info.ea.com/product.asp?p=1229

I think they changed January 2011 to Spring 2011 just since I looked at it a few hours ago. I'm lucid enough to be sure I saw January somewhere.

When I first started sims they kept saying 'Coming this Fall' and I was like 'What is Fall?' I had to google it to work out that it means Autumn!  :D

I think it relates to when the leaves fall off the trees, but yeah, I agree with you that some American words are weird (although I see enough American television to understand practically everything, but still). I think that Autumn feels more consistent with other languages such as French ("automne").

Back on topic: I haven't said anything in this thread before, so I think this game looks great! I wonder how much "Sims" it'll be in it, or if it's heavily angled towards the strategic building aspect I've been hearing so much about.

I'm going to be all over this game — so many elements I love: questing, expansion/building of an empire, and then the obvious Sims aspect of micromanaging/controlling individuals. It's like SimCity/Sims, and a little Rise of Nations all put together. I'm really excited.

I was really worried that this would be another Sims venture into online gaming, but thankfully the press release info said Simulation.  Phew!!!

Only thing is Metro, no guitars.  Sorry, just had to put that in there ;D

Me too, well I like Medieval Total War so if it's similar and with sims, the wallet is being opened!  ;D

I showed this to my husband and he's very excited.  He's enjoying playing Sims and he's pretty new at it.  But seeing this Midieval stuff got him all giddy and stuff.  I'll have to see it before I get too excited.  I'm not normally into that era, but I'm sure if it's Sims, it will be a lot of fun.  I'll build myself up for it and then I'll be giddy when it comes out, too.  :D

How would y'all feel about a separate Guide for Sims Midieval?  Like what we have for Sims 3.

Wow, didn't think of that. Well, if we do, we must find a way to kind of have it in relation to this forum and guide so I don't find myself in a place where I don't know anyone. But still, it's a great idea IMO. :)

Yeah, sorry Alsier but just read the lowdown on JudHudson's simprograms.  Seems as though a guy over at TSR plagurized the article and screenshots from a PC mag in the UK...basically lied through his teeth.  Personally I think the guy should be prosecuted...that's real illegal. >:(
Do not rely too much on the quote posted on that topic at simprograms, the source is not exactly neutral either. From what I have read across different websites, TSR posted part of their inside information (and they usually do have access to many if not all ea preview events) that they were not supposed to post yet but that was already printed in the mentioned magazine and thus no "real" secret any more. You may or may not like TSR, but they are not nearly as evil as a part of the sims community likes to make them. They are a fairly large, profit-oriented website with tons of contributors, so there is bound to be people who do not agree with them in one way or the other, but those "... must be destroyed"-people are not exactly saints either.
