I preordered mine on amazon and paid the $.99 for release day shipping shipping and waited and waited all day until 6:30Pm for the ups guy!! (when my husband orders something it comes in the morning!!) and I have it all loaded and a game started but the kids won't go to bed :( otherwise it seems very like sims 3 in some ways (so the controls will seem understandable) but different in that they moved the things around and renamed them/modified them so that it doesn't seem like the sims 3 with different clothes. As I was writing my husband came to deal with the kids so I can go play!!!

I didn't get my email for the downloadable version until EA counter was done but once I got it loaded everything was good for a while.  I love the tutorial and everything I've seen so far but there are apparently some bugs are available for play, as well!  I've crashed three times today, whoops. ::)

My husband just brought it home after work for me! Too bad it's almost bedtime; if I installed it now I'd be up all night!
You've played too much TS3 when ... your 13 month old's babble sounds like Simlish!

I noticed the card in the card with the code to get those extra items.  It said while in game, go to options and click on redeem code, well, there is no redeem code in options. Oh well, not a big deal, but I don't think there is more than one option button, lol. :)

I had read on the official EA forum that others were also having issues redeeming the codes.  They described what you did.  I installed mine, played for a few minutes and have yet to get back on.  I will get on it sometime tonight and see if I have the same problem or not.

I think I saw the Redeem Code button when I clicked the "...", not actually inside the Options menu.

I haven't been able to find the Redeem Code either, but it didn't stop me from playing all day until well past bedtime!   ;D

I downloaded my copy last night and hit the install button before I ran off to work.  Just need to patch when I get home and I will start playing.  For those of you who've already been playing, are we able to design and dress our own sims like in TS3?  I read that we don't have the option to build like in TS3, which I think is a bit of a bummer - the building, decorating, designing aspects of TS3 are my favorite features.

I was able to redeem the code. Did it prompt you to update before you started playing? When I was in the game the last item on the ... Menu was redeem code. I'll try to post a screen shot when I get home from work. My princess throne room is very cute! I find the camera aspect to be the hardest to get used to it is just straight on as if you were sitting in front of a dollhouse and can only see in the front of it so I wonder how that will affect people who like to make movies. But I found it really fun, I was up way too late!!! And I don't want to go to work today :)

You do get to choose your sims outfit and have the option to recolor it as well. You can also change clothes by clicking on a chest in your rooms.

Here is a walk through on how to redeem the limited edition code from the official site:

http://support.ea.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4960

Hope that helps everyone!  My copy is supposed to be here in a couple hours, if my UPS man is on time, but at least I've got the player's guide to keep me compnay!   ;D

I wouldn't worry too much about them.  They're adaptable people.

@Filly,

Thanks so much for the link to unlock the code. The card enclosed with the game was very misleading about where to find the "Redeem Code" button. Off to get my bonus stuff!   :D

I am not happy.  I pre-ordered Sims Medieval weeks ago.  Today I got the download information in an email.  What?!?  I wanted the disk!  I got on a live chat with EA and apparently I had mistakenly ordered the downloadable version.  Gah!  The EA representative was very nice and issued me a refund for the downloadable version and gave me a special code that will still let me get the bonus items with the disk version that I have to order now.  The problem now is that the refund won't come for about a week and I don't have the extra cash to buy the disk right now.  I'll have to wait a couple of days or until the refund comes.

Oh, Pam!  I am SO sorry!  That is indeed a worse case scenario and much worse than what caused my hissy fit.  Mine is now in my hands so, bye all!  I'll be back. FUN FUN FUN!
What?  Grannies can't play games?
I speak perfect Nooblik, (and some Simlish)!
