I am going to be extremely ticked off if my pre-order from Amazon is not the limited edition one with the extra clothes and throne rooms.  I am on tenterhooks waiting for this to be released and to arrive! I can hardly wait to build medieval style!  AND, if it is a series, just think of all the ways you can stay in that general era and still not have touched everything!  Crusades!  Marco Polo!  (was he during that time?), Robin Hood!  Sooooo much you can do with different cultures/countries.  I think most of us think about jolly olde Englande when we think medieval but what about Turkoman Empire?  What was happening in Asia?  Byzantium?  Just cracked myself up thinking about building a castle and putting in a bathroom!  Can we say dung pit?  Privvy?  (aka drafty place with a board with a hole in it and a long drop down).  No fancy shmancy showers and hot tubs there!
What?  Grannies can't play games?
I speak perfect Nooblik, (and some Simlish)!

Sad that I won't be getting this for a while, I don't think I can afford it. Oh well I will have to rely on everyones pictures to experience the game.   :-\

I've just been re-watching the trailers.  Noticed that the rooms seem to have fixed viewpoints. Only three walls, like looking into a dolls house.  I hope I'm wrong because that might be a little irritating to play, especially coming from TS3 where we can see all four walls of our houses and rotate a full 360.

Yeah, they wanted to go with a different look and feel for this game, so they went with that "three wall" style.   I'm not sure if the camera works differently or not.

There's a new interview out at Gamespot:

And yet another trailer:

It looks interesting, but I dunno.  I didn't get into the other sims stand alone games, and I don't know if I could here.  But really, this seems to have a little more appeal than the others did, because this happens to be my favorite time period.

I just need to know more about it, I guess.

Well, I jumped in and pre-ordered it yesterday. Now just to wait and see what it turns out to be like.

I've got mine pre-ordered, as well.  We're also in the early stages of planning a Guide for Sims Medieval like we have for Sims 3.

Carl is visiting me over spring break and I believe he'll be at my house when Medieval is due to hit the shelves. So, my plan is to go to Best Buy with him to get my own copy and then pretend I forgot my wallet when we get to the cashier.

I really wish I did not watch that trailer.  Now I want to play it.  Must schmooze and ask boss for promotion.

Yes Metro, we won't tell. ::)

I know I am getting it.  It is my favorite time period also.  Looks great and will just go to target like I always do. :)

You know each other in real life? That is cool. With the next expansion: please stop by in Holland. It may be cheaper here. ;)
I normally would see some commercials about sims on tv, but that occasionally has stopped. It looks like Mevieval only appears on the internet for me.

It is cool, but we've never met. It will be nice to finally attach a face with a voice on the phone and words sent via instant messages. Hopefully Carl won't mind me picking him up from the train station in a golf cart. Interstate-74 could be a problem.

Wikipedia has a rather interesting article about The Sims Medieval.

Thanks for the link.  Just read it and have also watched a lot of the videos now. It seems really intriguing.  I'm sitting here wondering whether to raid the new front door fund (again) and to put in an order for the Limited Edition.

I've recently downloaded and played a demo of a new game that appeared, at first glance, to be an updated version of Dungeon Keeper and got totally flummuxed with the controls, as well as disappointed with the actual gameplay.  I guess I've been playing versions of The Sims for far too long and am now too old to learn how to use the mouse and keyboard for different actions.  :-\

My impression is that our control of the sims will be similar to how it is now - ie directing them with the mouse and selecting actions for them - the only differences will be in not having complete control over building and that our game will span the lifetime of our chosen sim only.  I haven't watched anything to contradict that.

Ah, decisions, decisions...

(I think I may be envious of Carl. I've never ridden in a golf cart.)
