Carl, I think you missed how amazing the "Neurotic" trait is. You should try it out. I know it sounds like a bad thing, but Neurotic is a fantastic trait to give most sims, but especially ones that are self-employed or homemakers. It has a couple of downsides: you get stressed more easily and for longer periods of time, and sometimes you get a negative moodlet from worrying about something (such as worrying that you left the faucet running).
However, they get the "freak out" action which puts them in a "tranquil" state, +10 mood for 8 hours, and also removes all their stress. It negatively impacts their relationship with anyone witnessing it, but you can easily avoid that issue if you're at home.
You can also check on the thing you're worrying about, which cancels the negative worry moodlet and gives you a positive "calm" one for a couple of hours.
And you get a lot of easy clean-up style wishes, like making the bed. Low points, but a great way to ge that "fulfilled" moodlet every day.
I have a gardener right now with Green Thumb, Loves the Outdoors, Handy, Neurotic, and Flirty, and her moods when she starts gardening are just fantastic.
