I am not at all impressed. This seems like a lot of content that reminds me of previous sims store items, plus a rehash of sim bots. Plus is was hoping for open for business type stuff (the latest store venue is not what I had in mind). Sigh - guess Ill have to hope for more in sims 4.
I can see why you wouldn't be impressed, but the store items are far different than the new upcoming items in the new EP. The store items were more like the alien tech-type objects we got in the sims 2. The new future items in Into the Future are more in-depth. They have brand new game-play, looks, and over all future like feel to it.

Anyone know when the broadcast will be up on youtube? I missed it when it was actually happening.

http://www.thesims.com/en_US/live :)

I have an idea as to why the simbots and time machines were not just revamped like the Vampires were. The new EP is based off a new world, the Sim future, where simbots have evolved into Plumbots and where simple time machines have been made into time portals. I believe that this expansion is a kind of view into what the developers see as the sims future. I think that is also backed by how now you can see your descendants in the future and even how what you do in the present creates changes in the future in the new expansion.

Fair point.

We also need to remember that they are a business. EPs are made to not only bring more interesting and fun game play, but money so that they can continue making games.

I know, but logically, extending the time machine would just take the equivalent code from the Time Portal, and stick it in the Time Machine. Doing this saves money on Concept Design, Design, Programming, Implementation and Debugging (testing). For those without Ambitions, it's a simple matter of just recycling the same code.
Of course, talking about this makes me realize that doing this would effectively "cut off" the main content of the EP. You need Inventing Level 8 (I think) to make a Time Machine, so you'd need that to play this EP. By introducing a new object, they cut that requirement off. It's the equivalent of saying "Yeah, you can have three new Occults in Supernatural, but you've got to max xyz skill first in each game to unlock it".

Of course, since they're not using the Time Machine, I suppose this is a tad off-topic, and for that, I apologize. :)

I can't use the link Seabody, although the link itself works. When I clicked play it went to a snowy screen(what you get on youtube when an error occurs and you have to refresh, and says "This video is private."

It probably doesn't work because thats a link to live broadcast. The trailors are up on YouTube but not the live broadcast yet.

That's odd, I watched the broadcast at that very page about 6 hours ago.

So, awesome! I love the new plumbots, how they are so sleak and clean, and... colorful! I especially like the floaty one! And that clothing, I should probably close my mouth.

It is weird. I used the link and watched the video about 2 or 3 hours ago, but now I get the snow and the private video message too!

Zachlot, I think Pallyndrome may have been talking about the restaurant venue that was recently put out by EA, with the professional stove, fridge, sink and so forth, rather than the futuristic items from the store that were released previously, some as premium content.

I just really hope that the future world isn't like the WA worlds/University world, that you can only visit for a brief time.

I love the plumbots! It would be great if we could have baby plumbots (I know Simbots couldn't but Plumbots are meant to be more advanced, right?)

I'm guessing it will be more like University Life's campus.

It's very unlikely they can reproduce.

From what I've seen in the trailer so far, this EP is going to be HUGE, everything seems to have a future counterpart, while past EPs lack new walls or new cars or new lights, this one seems to have it all. Here's hoping they would tease TS4 in this EP like they did in TS2.

They said that you can buy homes there, so I am guessing that you can live there.
