I've only experienced playing an adult PlantSim so this is making me want him to have children!

Plantsim children are a breeze. I've been amazed at how the fact that they don't need to eat or go to the toilet cuts down on time. They can do their homework and then have plenty of time to play and socialise. You can get them up in the morning and they don't have to eat breakfast or go to the loo before the bus comes (so many times I've had to send a child Sim to school hungry). Cress has been giving me an even easier time of it because her Hydration need (replacing Hygiene) drops very slowly indeed, so I don't even have to make her swim or bathe that much. She's an absolute dream.

Author's Note: Thank you for the comments! Like I said, they're really encouraging feedback. I've had the next few chapters of Cress' story played out and screenshotted, so be prepared for these in quick succession. Though I don't consider Cress' story to be told in chapters, if it were I'd call this update "Hair".  ;D

The day that everyone had secretly dreaded had arrived. Finally Chris and Selene were ready to move out of the house and start their own life together.

Chris had recently cut his long white-blonde hair, partly because it wasn't very practical, and partly because he didn't feel it suited his serious 'politician' look. The resulting cut was longer than most people had their hair, but it was no longer right down his back. (I forgot to take a proper screenshot of this before moving Chris and Selene out. Sorry about that!)

It was hard for them all to say goodbye, though Chris and Selene were still in the neighbourhood. It wasn't like they were going far up into the craters or something.
Chris had finally found his independence. The rest of the family were very quiet and subdued for the rest of that day. Cress dealt with her grief by confiding in her teddy bear, Flora.

That evening, Christa went looking for her sister to see how she was coping. She found her in her own room, which in itself wasn't unusual - the girls were twins after all and they often waltzed in and out of each other's rooms without the other batting an eyelid.

But this time Christa was in for a shock. Her sister had made use of her full-length mirror.

"Chrissie... what have you done?"
"I'm making me different," said Chrissie. "And you needn't look like that, sis, I've just done it in a different style. I could have cut it short."
"I don't give two hoots what you look like," said Christa. "But Mother will go mad when she sees it."

"Since when do I care what Mother thinks?" snapped Chrissie. "I'm sick of no one being able to tell us apart, and I'm especially sick of our mother telling us what we must wear. Don't tell me you don't get tired of being constantly told what to do, how to live our lives, because I know you do. Chris got his independence and now I want mine."
"I won't deny that Mother's a bit of a control freak," said Christa, feeling uncomfortable, "But that's just because she loves us and wants the best for us."
"And the best for us is apparently being exactly like her," fumed Chrissie. "Well, count me out. You can be her little puppet if you want, but I'm not going to stand for it, not any more!"

Christa was fairly used to her sister's tantrums, and she also knew this anger wasn't directed at her, but the final comment nettled her. "I am not just Mother's puppet," she said firmly. "I'm an artist - you know I am - and Mother has no problems with that. She has no problems with you reading till all hours."
"That's just because she thinks I'm always reading science books."
"And what about Cress?"
Chrissie sighed. "What about Cress?"
"Well, she hasn't forced anything on Cress."
"Cress is different. She's always been different."
"So you do care about her."

"Of course I do!" Now it was Chrissie's turn to look defensive. "She's my sister! I just..." Her form drooped. "You're going to think I'm awful for saying this... but I don't think Mother should have created her. She's just set her up for a difficult life."
"Christa, we live in a world of vampires, mermaids, fairies, witches and werewolves and I'm pretty sure some aliens have visited us from time to time. Cress is hardly likely to be picked on for what she is."
"She's still unique, though, don't you see? Mother's a scientist and she's fascinated by her. But she keeps down her experiments because Cress is her daughter. Sooner or later, someone's going to come along and see only Cress' plant DNA. They'll just see her as a ripe fruit to be plucked and harvested."

Christa shifted uncomfortably. She knew what her sister was implying. "That's what we're here for. We're her sisters and we'll protect her. That's what Mother asked us to do, and we'll continue to do that way after she's gone."
"You think we can do that?" Chrissie asked doubtfully.
"We can try."

I love that even with a new look Chrissie still wears a lot of blue and white. Glad to know that she still cares for little Cress.

I'm glad you like the new look! I have to admit the main reason I changed her was so one could tell the difference between them. Sims 3 hasn't got many futuristic-looking teen clothes, so I'm going to have a bit more fun with her when she becomes a YA. But it's also a bit of character development for her. Their family bio is clear about Chrissie being more rebellious than the others, so why would she dress the same as her mother and sister?

It wasn't long before Chrissie's worst fear came true.

A few weeks after Chris moved out, and Chrissie's subsequent change of style (and yes, the rows continued for many days before Christina finally admitted defeat), they were greeted by a visitor, Raja Ansari, who insisted they speak to their mother - inside if possible. He seemed to have a rather strong allergy towards the sun's heat.

Once inside, he didn't waste time with niceties.

"Your youngest daughter is most unusual," he said. "I've never seen a cloned child so... 'gifted'."
"Her sisters and brother are clones also," said Christina politely. "I like to think I have been raising them well."
"But surely it cannot be easy for you," said the visitor. "A young adult son, two teenage daughters and a child who may possess abilities so far unheard of."
"What do you want?"
"Only to study her abilities, as you have done. I could take her off your hands for only a little while, research her curious DNA structure. I am a farmer with my own crops; she could study them also. We could learn much from each other."
Christina may have been self-obsessed and she may have been a little childish, and she may have been curious, but she was not stupid.
"No," she said. "I don't think that will work."
"I beg your pardon? May I ask why?"
Christina spoke very firmly.

"Because first you would just want to sequence her DNA, identify areas of it, etcetera, and that would be OK. But then you would start to want to try out drugs or take samples of more than just blood from her, and that is not OK. That's why."
"But she's very young and has a high probability of providing us with exceptional data."
"No. When Cress is an adult, she can decide for herself how much she gives to medical science. What's more, I've seen what your own experiments have done to you, Raja."

At this, Raja Ansari turned very nasty. He told Christina that some might consider it her duty to make sure Cress was used to the betterment of mankind.
Christina stood her ground. She may have created Cress by accident, to be fair seeking exactly what Raja Ansari was seeking, but she at least had taken the result of her experiments and had attempted to treat her like a human being. As far as Raja Ansari was concerned, Cress was just a test subject.

When Raja looked round, having noticed Cress actually was in the room with them, he was quite taken aback to see her two sisters had arrived.

"You won't be doing any experimentation while we're here," said Chrissie firmly. "Now clear off and leave our family in peace."
Raja did so, muttering under his breath.
Cress watched him go, and didn't really know what to say.

Author's Note: We're coming up to my favourite part of the story soon! I must send a special thanks to ForeverHailey, who made the majority of these poses.

The pose with the three girls looks similar to one of the Breaking Dawn part 2 posters/dvd covers.

They are the exact same poses! While I wouldn't consider myself a Twilight fan, I adore the poses on the posters so I and several other people requested ForeverHailey to do a Twilight-poster-inspired pose pack - which she did!

The family tried to put the unpleasant events of the afternoon behind them and once supper and homework were completed, they decided they needed an early night.

Christina read to Cress for a little while before settling her.

"Sweet dreams, Cress. I love you so much."
"Goodnight, Mother..."

That night, Christina couldn't sleep properly. The conversation of the afternoon had deeply unsettled her. At 2AM she went to settle her mind by checking on Cress.

But Cress's bed was empty.

Or maybe one of the sisters took her, to keep her safe in case somebody tried to nab her?

Author's Note: I am so predictable. And a sadist. And lucky I had a premade villain in Lunar Lakes. 8D But I shall reward your patience with an update!

"It must have been Raja Ansari," said Christa as they stood in the hallway, after combing the house for any sign of Cress and finding none. "No one else wants her--"
"Plenty of people want her," interrupted Chrissie angrily. "Just no one is insane enough to snatch her in the middle of the night right under our noses."
"I'm calling the police," said Christina, reaching for her phone.

"No!" Chrissie stopped her. "Think about it, Mother. If Raja Ansari has Cress and the police show up at his place, he could manufacture a hostage situation and seriously hurt her. Maybe we could take her secretly, quietly - then send in the police."
Christina frowned, a pained expression on her face. "I'm not putting you two at risk," she said.
"Oh come on, Mother. The last thing Raja Ansari would be expecting is us to both show up. Two teenage girls. Seriously."
There was a long silence.
"All right," said Christina at last. "Get dressed and go. But I'm still calling the police, and your brother."

They have matching underwear! (First thing I noticed about the update)
I hope they can get her. And that the police don't butt in randomly.
