Something that was introduced in the Island Paradise patch also made rabbit holes that are within 3 squares of the sidewalk unable to be used, which include most of the Lunar Lakes portal things. You can go into Edit Town to push the rabbit holes back a bit so you can get into them. Fortunately, most rabbit holes in the other worlds aren't affected, since they're far enough back.

Oh, I SEE! Thanks Audren, I'll get down to editing the file right away and let you know if it works!

A few months later, Cress and Sam were married.

Chris was acting surrogate parent, along with Sam's parents.

It was a joyous ceremony - despite being rudely interrupted by one of the guests expiring right in the middle. Really, some people are so inconsiderate!

The only one who didn't particularly seem to be enjoying the day was Chrissie. I think she still had doubts about Cress' plans. That's Kunama next to her. She aged up nicely!

Young Kunama felt her aunt was overreacting somewhat.

Soon after, Cress and Sam moved out, leaving Christa, Finn and their twins in the house in which they grew up. It was time for a fresh start.
Cress and Sam had both decided that to raise their plant-children would require a more rustic environment than the heart of town, so they moved up into the craters, to a small house that would be easily extendable to accommodate little people.

They settled on the bed in their new house for the first night as a married couple.
"So now what?" asked Cress.

Sam grinned. "The best part, I hear."
Cress was all too ready, but something still worried her. "Sam, you and I both know I'm not... I'm not entirely... what if the pieces don't fit?"

Her new husband just smiled. "Let's find out."

Sorry about the long break, everyone! I've been trying to play the equivalent of about twelve years sim-time, and I had a lot of difficulty with the Forbidden Fruit. For some reason Cress and Sammy just couldn't pick them once they'd got to Harvest state. It was very annoying, but I seem to have got on top of it now. Sammy and Cress have a good love-life so I've got a good supply of Forbidden Fruits, so it doesn't matter if I find the odd one that's faulty. OK, on with the story!

Winter came again, the cruellest season, and though the house was well-built, Cress found herself shivering all day long. Sammy was out most of the day at his firefighting job, sometimes nights too, and it could get very lonely with just her and her garden.
One day, she could stand it no longer. She went outside into her garden, most of which was hibernating for the winter, and longed to join them.
Without really thinking about what she was doing, she buried herself in the soil.

Down here, wrapped in sheltered, moist earth, she found that she was warm for the first time in weeks, and Cress went to sleep.

But that night, she was awoken by a sharp pain in the leaves she had left above the earth to draw in light. Weak and shivering, Cress scrambled out of the ground.

"What was that?" she coughed. "What... happened...?"

A strange, high voice, one she didn't recognised, floated out of the night.
"You should beware, Cress Landgraab, for this is just the beginning. I have given you a taste of what is to come."

"Who are you?" gasped Cress. "What do you want?"

"You'll see, one day."

Cress managed to crawl back to the house and put herself to bed - but when she woke up, she barely remembered what had happened.

Great update. It was great to see Cress again after all these days. So, someone is interfering with her goal of creating her clones. Looking forward for next update.

I recently read through this story and was saddened that it had been a while since it was updated, because this is just a really good story. Welcome back!

I'm interested in how the child plantsim will play into this. :)
