Create-a-Sim will not load!!

(I tried posting this on another website but they didn't really help me. I haven't been on the forum for awhile so I'm not sure if I can discuss CC but I think you can now, but I apologize if I've broken any rules.)

Okay, so today I installed I think four pieces of CC (one being a sim). When I went into CAS it just loaded forever! I tried uninstalling all the new CC I got. I don't know how long it's been like this since I haven't used CAS in awhile so I don't know how long it's been like this. I know that Plan Outfit and the CAS ingame cheat works though, since I've been able to use those (though I didn't check after the problem occured).

I have a lot of CC, mostly .sim3packs but some .packages from Anubis plus a few sliders. I have no mods besides the sliders (I always have problems with them?) so no mod problems. I tend not to get patches due to the many bugs they introduce so I'm patched up to the patch that came with Seasons (I have all EPs, no SPs, except Uni) but it's worked fine for a long time so it's not the patch.

A lot of people have the same problem but they never really found a solution. Does someone perhaps know what to do?

My sister is having the exact same problem as me (her computer is next to mine) and she would like some help too. She has no .package files and not a ton of .sims3packs, but she has some (probably around 50 files). She hasn't used CAS in awhile either and hasn't gotten any new CC in awhile either.

Edit: I just used the CAS cheat on my sim and it worked fine, but I'm not so sure about plan outfit yet.

Unfortunately, we do not allow the discussion of third party content and we won't be able to help you with it.  However, the problem may be unrelated to the CC, so you might be able to get help from that direction.  So, basically, the problem is that CAS won't load?  What were you doing in the game?  Like, starting a new file?  Using the dresser to plan an outfit?  More details will be helpful.

(I apologize, sorry for the inconvenience).

It seems to be only when I want to create a new family. The CAS cheat works fine (shift-click with cheats on) and plan outfit/change appearance looks good too. I was just using the CAS in Edit Town at first, but it wouldn't load so I had to try making a new save file which didn't work either. I know it is a recent problem, though, because last week (I think?) I made a new family and I played maybe once or twice after the initial creation and the issue occurred yesterday.

Ok.  So, you start a new game, choose your town, and select Create a Family (or whatever the button says).  It's supposed to open Create-A-Sim for you to create a Sim to place and play in the new town.  Right?  Exactly what happens when you click that Create a Family button?

Yes. CAS opens, but it just loads forever. Music still plays, plumbob still spins, but it just loads forever and I have to go to Task Manager to force stop the game.

I would suggest that you remove your mods and launch the game with custom content disabled.  Also, have you done a complete re-install lately?
