We didn't know where we were going when we got on the plan, but I, for one, was pleasantly surprised and awed to see the town the rest of my life would be spent in. Dragon Valley.
My family bought the biggest house they could find: the seven of them would be living together for a long time, and both my parents and Cyllia's wanted more kids.
Oh! I probably should have mentioned that I'm Kylara Moonstone. Since the legacy is returning to its original format, so is the writing.
I gave everyone from the household a hug before walking out to the taxi that would take me to my new home. Glancing up, I saw a striking young woman staring at me with intense, dark eyes and a cold smile. Then the taxi drove away and I lost sight of her.
I arrived at the lot with over 100,000 dollars from the house, and immediately donated every penny of it to charity except for 1,800 dollars. It was a little disorienting to realize that I was poor for the first time in my life, but also a little exhilarating. The world was my oyster! There were no boundaries, no limits, to what I could do.
The first thing I did was sign up at the Harmony Hospital. It doesn't have the best equipment, but the healers are renowned throughout the world.
I came home to start building my own house, and ended up with . . . this. I'm not as flighty and dreamy as Aliya, but not quite as sensible and practical as Cyllia, either. This was a little disappointing.
I escaped my hovel to the main park in the center of town, where I spent a few hours playing chess. The game always helps clear my mind, especially when I don't want to have my mind cleared. I quickly formed my own plan:
1. Find a potential spouse (optional).
2. Work hard to advance through the ranks of the Medical career and start making money.
3. Dabble in writing for the extra cash.
4. Wing it.
