All craziness aside Cyllia is so cute and innocent. I have a feeling that's not going to last long so I thought i'd say it now.

NO Treasure you daughter will NOT be heir (one of) Grace's Daughter Will be heir.

Speak for yourself: I shall have no personal favoritism in the matter, except for the fact that
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

She's adorable!  However, I gotta go for Grace's little ones being heir... Or Mist's newest baby XD  Which, all new meaning to being someone's sister AND Aunt XD

What's wrong with Cyllia? She's adorable!

Mist being pregnant by her son in law is just off the squickitological charts!  :o

Of course, I hope one of them is Evil, that will make Mist happy.  ;D

I don't know . . . I think the next generation will be the Moonstone purge.

*shudder* I hadn't thought of it that way... eeurgh!

Yes, thank you for that image, Wiry!

Awe congrats! Are we sure this is jasons...

Yep, we're sure. Trust me--we're sure. (Maybe I should have said we aren't sure so I can keep you dangling?)

All craziness aside Cyllia is so cute and innocent. I have a feeling that's not going to last long so I thought i'd say it now.

Perhaps she can stay cute and innocent for her entire life. I mean, look at how cute she is now!

Repossession

The first thing Treasure did after Cyllia was born (she pretty much just dumped her on the ground) was find Blake. He needed to be reassured and "soothed," but what was he doing in Mist's room? Of course, Treasure realized, he was using the chess set.

Blake was relieved at Treasure's timing: Mist was out spicing up the town a little.

The next morning, having recalled that Cyllia was still on the floor in the hall, Treasure retrieved her daughter and brought her into the nursery. Cyllia was a sweet little girl who automatically loved her mama, but at the same time she figured out that mama had a screw loose.

Treasure took care of the dirty business, despite her usual distaste for such activities. It was important that she take care of the disgusting things, so that all Jason saw of his daughter was the cuteness and giggles.

While Blake was working his 12-hour shift, Treasure sent the pregnant ladies out to the Festival.

She then left Cyllia out in the hall again for several hours, and returned to find Jason teaching his daughter to walk.

"Hey, Jason!" Treasure greeted him with a kiss. Cyllia giggled on the floor and made a beeline for the toy box.

"We're our own little family," Treasure murmured as they embraced. "Our daughter will be so smart, and talented, and beautiful. I hope she looks just like you."

"No, Cyllia will look like you," Jason laughed, "and that's the only thing in the world a little girl could ask for."

They both looked towards the ground where Cyllia had sat less than a minute ago, only to find her playing in the toy box. They laughed, then kissed passionately. Really, Treasure thought, it was killing two birds with one stone: one stone named Cyllia. She would be mother of the heir, and Jason would finally leave Grace for her.

"Maybe we can practice making another perfect little girl," Treasure whispered in his ear. "Once Cyllia is heir, we can kick everyone else out and have a thousand little girls." Jason wasn't entirely sure it worked like that, but loved the vision enough that he followed Treasure into the bathroom.

"Now, you go right back to your daughter," Treasure laughed and, again, Jason was happy to oblige.

Blake came home presently, and was greeted with a kiss and the sight of his brother-in-law with his daughter.

The pregnant ladies soon followed, and the mother and daughter who had never particularly liked each other started bonding over their babies. "Oh, you never told us who the father was!" Grace realized, startled.

"Oh, some local boy," Mist said indifferently. "I kicked him out of town once I figured out I was pregnant."

"And what about yours?" Mist asked amiably. "Jason is the father--right?" Mist was the eyes and ears of this house: nothing happened that she did not know about it, once she started paying attention. And she was determined to end this affair between Grace and Blake, simply so she could have Blake for herself.

"Yes, of course he is! Who--who else would it be?"

"Well . . ." Mist glanced around, then whispered in her ear. "I know." And she walked away.

A few minutes later, still shaken, Grace met Blake at the appointed place: the pool. They lay side by side and gazed up at the stars. "I think Mist is onto us," Grace murmured.

Blake didn't answer, instead saying, "When is the baby due?"

"We'll know who the dad is any day now. Don't worry."

Sighing, they both got up, well aware of how late it was. For a moment, they gazed at each other, leaning a little closer together until their lips were almost touching--

"Blake!" Treasure called as she breezed down the stairs. Grace melted away into the shadows as her sister kissed her lover. "What are you doing out here? Ooh, I know! Let's go for a midnight swim."

"Whatever," Grace muttered to herself, and as the two others jumped into the pool she reentered the house and found her husband in the bedroom.

One may think that Treasure didn't care about Blake, but that is completely untrue. Treasure actually loves Blake, and more than that, she's possessive.

Even if she doesn't even suspect that he and Grace are having an affair (who would be with Grace when he was married to Treasure, since Grace was so stupid and ugly), but she did realize that he and Grace were best friends. And she did not like that.

And it would not continue. She wanted Jason, but she also wanted Blake. They would both be hers. And if that meant never getting sleep or even bringing out the Hypnotizer--she would do whatever it takes. After all, Blake was only spending time with Grace because his wife was neglecting him, so Treasure would just have to display a little more initiative.

That night, when Jason was working from the home computer (for the record, he actually was working this time, since Treasure was busy repossessing and subtly brainwashing Blake), Grace went into labor in her bedroom.

She gave birth to a sweet, pink little girl with strange golden hair and, as it turned out, there was no need for a paternity test. The bright blue eyes were more than enough to confirm who the father was. Welcome to the world, Aliya Moonstone.

Woot! I'm already rooting for Aliya and I love how Mist and Grace are finally patching up the relationship. I'll be optimistic like Grace and say everything is going to turn out splendid!  :)

I'm rooting for Treasure's daughter, just so then there will be war. (Also, what's happening with James and Clarisse? It's been forever since we've seen them.)

Good luck with the optimism--this is the Moonstones we're talking about.

Oh, believe me, the absence is very deliberate  :) .

I wouldn't judge the baby based on her parents--but that's just me  ;) .

Ooh, I want to know! Then, if you predict it, it will probably happen.

Treasure growled to herself, watching Jason play with Aliya. This was not right! He should be bonding with his real daughter, not this child of the pretend heir.

She already hated Aliya--the little girl embodied everything she despised in the world. Grace's heirship, Grace and Jason's bond, the battle that would come between Cyllia and Aliya, the battle that Cyllia must win.

No. No. No. It simply should not, would not, could not do.

Grace also passed through the hall, but her picture was a happy one. She and Jason exchanged a smile, and she and Blake a secret, meaningful glance.

Everything was so much easier now that Aliya was here. She and Jason were happier than ever, and she and Blake--were even more complicated, but that could wait. At least they were all happy. Babies had that effect on a household. But, in the back of her mind, Grace knew that a wrong word or forgetting to lock the bedroom door would make everything fall apart.

"He just won't get away from Aliya!" Treasure complained over the chess table. "Maybe he would, if Blake wasn't always with Cyllia, but he thinks he's her father and has a responsibility to her! I need to find a way to . . . break everything apart and make Jason mine."

"Uh-huh?" Mist responded casually, the gears in her head spinning smoothly. Let Treasure find out about the affair, destroy the marriage, and steal Blake right out of Grace's grasp. Effortless. "We can discuss that further, but I left my phone in your room this morning when I woke you up. Be a dear and go fetch it for me?"

Grace and Blake knew that it would be a quick encounter, so they didn't bother to lock the door.

Grace caught sight of Treasure first as she entered the room, and thanked the Watcher that she and Blake weren't kissing at the time. She began to greet Treasure, alerting Blake to her presence--

Just then, Blake kissed her, unknowingly being watched by his wife.

Grace pulled away, and Blake turned as Treasure walked silently across the floor. Her eyes were dark, deep--almost terrifying.

"Blaaaake," she greeted him sweetly, in a sing-song voice, "what is this?"

"Oh, well, I--" he began to lie but, with a look at Grace, became firm. "Grace and I have been seeing each other for a very long time."

He and Grace smiled at each other. Treasure smiled, too. "And now you're going to get rid of her and come back to me. Because you love me so much that you would do anything for me, right?'

"Treasure," Grace said quietly, "Blake and I love each other and he's married to you, and Jason and I love each other and we're married. But I know that Blake is going to choose me, not you."

"What? N-n-no!" Her eyes filled with tears. Inside her head, all of the wheels and springs and gears that had begun to rebuild themselves to work normally, to cure the mental damage done long ago, broke apart.

Both Grace and Blake felt waves of remorse at Treasure's crushed look, but one of them kissed the other and they returned to being assured in that they had chosen the right path.

  Then Treasure grinned.

She glided past them, still smiling, and out the door.

"Yes, sweetie, the circle peg goes right there! Good job! Everything goes in its place, Cyllia. Your place is at the very top. They go at the very bottom. Understand?"

Cyllia wrinkled her little nose, disbelieving of her mama. She was too smart to believe everything Treasure said, but was smart enough to pretend to. "Yes, Mama. The very bottom."

Still in the bedroom, Grace and Blake stood quietly for a moment, just processing. "Would you have chosen her over me, if it hadn't happened this way?" Grace finally asked.

Blake sighed, moving close to her. "Everything is just a mess."

"I know," she whispered. "Now, I'm going to go shower and get ready for bed. Meet back here in an hour?"

"Of course." He left, walking down the hall and making a left into Mist's room.

Blake couldn't help but smile at the mere sight of her, even if he wondered why. Mist constantly ridiculed him, never showed any compassion, and had barely even acknowledged that they had any sort of emotional connection. But, in her own way, that was Mist showing affection.

"Mind if I join you?" he asked and, with a little shrug from Mist, approached the chess table. Just as he began to take a seat, Mist gasped and clutched her stomach.

Blake had delivered dozens of babies in his residency, but the sight of his own coming into the world-- "Oh my, oh my, oh my--"

"Get out, you idiot!" Mist snarled. Blake began to protest, only to find himself bodily removed by a woman who was going into labor and didn't need any other problems.
