Bwahahahhahah--hahahah--AHAHAHAHAH!!!  ;D

Treasure, Treasure, Treasure, I feel a little responsible for you now  ::)

For the record, you should feel completely responsible for her  ;) .

Oooo, this should be good!

Or . . . it should be bad. (Evil-bad, not bad-bad.)

I go on vacation and come home to this!! My gosh azokka you are a genius! Wonderful chapters! And now I have to go catch up on the Elysi's!! I cant believe what Mist has done and everything. I cant stand treasure. Total team Grace!

You always seem to go on vacation right when I start posting major revelations. Team Grace for the win!
I expect Azokka either to yell at everyone and totally dominate or else get out the popcorn.-Ombradellarosa

"Now, girls, what's going on?" Both had fallen silent the moment Mist entered their midst, announcing her presence with a light cough.

"Treasure's project was completely sick and disgusting!"

  Treasure yawned widely.

  "So you shut it down?"

  "Yes, I shut it down!"

"All right, then. Let's see yours."

Grace began to protest--after all, she wasn't finished yet and if Mist was displeased with the current phase she would be very disappointed in Grace. So, she walked out to where the toddlers were kept and brought them over, one by one.

"Babysitting?" Treasure snorted. "That's your big, amazing plan?"

"Shut it, Goldilocks," Grace retorted. "At least mine makes sense."

"Girls!" Mist uttered sharply, silencing them both instantly. "I appreciate competition, especially dirty competition, but this is quickly becoming childish. And childishness interferes with the work. Now, Grace, explain."

"These toddlers are the children of the prisoners Morrigan Hemlock and Deidre Littler--I mean, they aren't the children of Morrigan and Deidre together, but one is the child of Morrigan and the other is the child of Deidre. Erm, moving on--the one I'm holding is Minion 1, Hemlock. She will be an enforcer and thug. The other, Minion 2 (Littler) is . . . ah . . . the punching bag. He will be a slave to our every whim: cleaning, cooking, serving."

"All right," Mist mused thoughtfully, "I like it. Now, age them up."

"What?" Grace stuttered in surprise. "B-b-but they're not ready to be aged up! They've only been toddlers for a few days--"

  "Age. Them. Up."

Minion 1 was aged up first, of course. Mist was impressed by her immediate aptitude for evil.

"Excellent, daughter. What is the outfit?"

"It was an idea I had for your logo. A black heart."

Minion 2 was next. Grace explained that he was a servant, yes, but an upscale servant. He was required to be well-dressed and proper at all times, or be punished.

Before she was even finished speaking, Minion 1 crept forward and shouted "Boo!" behind Minion 2, making him jump in terror. Both Minion 1 laughed in delight. "Oh, I like this," Mist laughed. "Wonderful job, Grace. Wonderful."

Mist entered the house to confer with Obsidian, and Treasure cornered Grace by the pool. "Don't think for a second that this is over, you pile of garbage. Watch your back, sister, so that you won't miss the knife sticking out of it."

To the best goes the Heirship!
Of course, it's not really a contest. Treasure got to observe the best in action (Egotism for the win!)  ;D

Come on Grace, your plan better work!

Stern Resolve

Grace had planned out the living quarters very carefully. Technically, both Minions shared a room, but it was divided in half. Minion 1's room was expensive, elegant, and sleek.

Minion 2's side, on the other hand, was a dump. The floor was made of packed dirt, and it was used to store all of the old crates and barrels that Grace had picked up from the city dump.

Minion 1 was encouraged (and, indeed, ordered) to harass Minion 2 at any and every opportunity. A sense of fear needed to be instilled in one, and power in the other. "You're on my side, Minion 2. Or should I say Number Two."

"N-n-no, I'm not!" he whimpered, choking back tears. The poor boy had been whisked away from his mother the moment he was born and reminded constantly that he was hated. Useless. Unwanted.

Minion 1 sensed his fear and grinned, enjoying her power. She remembered Mist's words: Power is intoxicating, but exercise before glorying in it. Cracking her knuckles, she stepped forward and tackled Minion 2, pounding him into the dirt.

"Stay on the ground where you belong," she finished scornfully as Minion 2 collapsed in pain.

Grace sighed, gazing out over the city. She should hate it here--did hate it here. But at night, when everything was lit up and the stars glowed off the buildings, there was just something so incredibly beautiful about Bridgeport.

Well, now it was time to be shaken out of her reverie. Now was the time to fight and seize her prize--her birthright.

Minion 2 was woken every half-hour, marched around the lot, and drenched in cold water before being allowed to go back to bed. It was part of the necessary torture that would wear down his personality, dignity, and self-esteem to nothing.

It wasn't fun for Grace, not like it would have been for Mist or Treasure. She could remember her childhood vividly, but pushed down little pangs of pity and empathy with stern resolve. She would become heir. And once she did, they would leave this beautiful, heartless city.

Or she'll be corrupted and then start acting out for the 'Greater Good'. ;) And Treasure will become the regular villain for the next seven gens or so.

Maybe when(notice how I didn't say if) Grace wins, she can take minion 2 with her to wherever it is that Grace will find happiness.
