(Returning to the regularly scheduled program: The Moonstone Teenage Soap Opera.)
Jason and Grace had spent the night at Prom: dancing, sharing punch, and holding hands in the limo. With Treasure's disappearance, they were the new school power couple. But that was all about to change, as Jason climbed out of the limo to find himself face-to-face with his girlfriend.
As Jason stammered out some sort of answer, conscious of the fact that he was falling back under the spell of those dark eyes, Grace arrived at the scene.
"What do you think you're doing, Golden Girl?" Grace growled. Treasure opened her mouth to retort, only to find herself being knocked backwards by a vicious slap.
"Back off, Llama!" Treasure retorted, regaining her balance. "Or do us all a favor and go crawl back into the garbage heap you came from!"
Grace just stared at her, speechless. The Treasure
she knew was sweet, naive--she didn't know how to handle this new girl, her eyes as hard as her new jewelry.
"You know what?" She finally said, very careful. Grace had to assess this new competitor before taking any big steps. "Why don't we make
Jason choose, right now, and stop fighting like insane teenage girls. Jason?"
"
Jason!"
He gulped as both girls turned to face them. "Ladies, I'm very flattered, but your mom did say that it was up to the readers, not me--"
"Okay, we hate each other," Treasure interrupted, turning to Grace. "But why don't we both hate
him and concentrate on trying to win heir without any distraction from boys?"
"I dislike you to the fullest extent of the word, but I completely agree."
Jason desperately waited for Mist to step in, but she had far more important things on her mind than the troubles of teenagers. Outside, she was gleefully watching the demise of her ex-husband.
Once Wogan was gone, and his grave disposed of, Mist stretched and entered her bedroom, where the urn of her mother was kept. She locked the door and closed the blinds before mourning her mother--the only person in the world who she had truly loved.
