No. Matthew can't be romantic with the mom and the daughter.
 Just no.

What an interesting chapter. Ok then. Haha :)

I blame Bridgeport. And the Woohooer mod. They're just way too tempting . . . so I decided I might as well just get it all out of my sims' systems  ;) . And Cassie really is attracted to every vampire in Bridgeport. It's quite disturbing.

"You're Melody's mom, right?" he asked, not at all embarrassed. "Sorry about Mel. I heard about the kid. Anyway, I see where she got her looks from . . ."

"Be quiet, please. I've had a very long night, I'm not sure that I've slept at all since Friday, and there's a babysitter at home who must be in hysterics by now." Oh, no, the babysitter . . . I would have to worry about that later.

"Any particular reason for stopping by? I have a limo, hot tub, and the best view in all of Bridgeport."

  "I'll take the hot tub."

  "Rough day?"

"More like rough week. Rough year, even . . ."

"Anything I can help you with?" Matthew asked, leaning a little closer.

"Sorry, but I'm still very angry with you," I laughed, edging away. "Besides, that is just way too weird, way too many levels. In any case, I wanted to talk to you about your son, Matt."

All casualness vanished from the atmosphere, and he waited a long moment before finally saying, almost nervously, "I have to be at work in an hour. Let me go get dressed, then we'll talk."

While he disappeared, I marveled at the house. It was so large, and beautiful--just what my daughter deserved. Maybe instead of pushing Melody away from a rich, well-connected celebrity who could support her, I should be encouraging--no. Not even close.

He finally materialized, sharply dressed in a purple suit and sunglasses. I started to tell him about Matt, how smart and handsome he is with so much potential if he just had some extra money to spend on that potential, but Matthew cut me off. "Let me guess--you came to this city to escape your problems, then found out you had a thousand more?" He paused for me to nod. "That's normal. People come here for an escape, then find that they're trapped. That's why there are so many evil vampires--hopeless people are easy to control, easy to drain. You're better off than most, because you have your huge family to take care of, so that distracts you. Look, my point is--the more time you spend in this town, the less you care about other people's problems, the more you care about yours. You're too isolated than you are in a little place like Twinbrook. The people are hotter when it comes to looks, but they're also far colder in spirit. I've lived here since I was six, so I've had a while to adjust."

"And? What are you saying?" For just a second, I felt like I had seen the real person behind famous actor Matthew Hamming. But now the sunglasses were back on.

"What I'm saying is that, as far as I know, your daughter's kid isn't mine. If he was, it would be a total media circus--so he isn't. Maybe Melody had a crush on me, and maybe she made a move, but I certainly didn't reciprocate. If I did get an underage girl pregnant, the least of my worries would be my girlfriend, Matilda, and our daughter Allyson, the power family of Bridgeport. And . . ." He seemed to have some difficulty with this final statement, but pushed through ". . . unless you can prove that your grandson is my son, I'm not going to be paying anything for him."

"You're a real jerk. You do realize that, right? You're a horrible, awful, evil person who had a careless fling and can't even own up to it and live with the consequences. Well, Melody has to live with the consequences every day, and it might keep her from having a normal life. Maybe she'll still be so hung up on you, she won't ever meet the person who she'll fall in love with!" At this point, I was running out of steam, and I could see that I wasn't having more than a minimal affect on him.

"Ms. Moonstone, you are right." He laughed shortly, bitterly. "I am a real jerk. After you've lived here long enough, you'll be a real jerk, too, but right now you're a lot better off than most of the people in this city, whether they're in an apartment next to the construction site or up on the hill, like me. Now go back to your ever-growing family in the old Plasma 501 and hide there like you used to. Try not to have a run-in with any vampires, because my guess is that you don't want to be turned and live forever in Bridgeport."

So that was how I left the Hamming mansion and went to the subway station to buy a ticket for home.

The babysitter was at the edge of exhaustion--he had been napping on the couch, getting juice out of the fridge, and tending to both toddlers for three days now. Fortunately, I came home just soon enough for him to attend Prom. While the kids drank their dinner, I frantically searched for any way out of Bridgeport. A plane to anywhere--the airport was closed down indefinitely. Trains? Not yet invented. It would cause far too much to get anywhere by car. Essentially, we were trapped in this stinking gray pit.

Matt really is a sweet boy. He could tell that "Granny sad" and spent the entire night trying to cheer me up as I rushed to train him and Finale in all of their toddler skills. How could I tell him that his father was going to deny his very existence?

He kept asking why I was sad, even through our talking lessons. I finally went ahead and told him that he didn't have a daddy. He asked what a daddy was. I said it was the same thing as a mama, but a boy.

"I don't need a daddy," he told me matter-of-factly. "I have a mama, and granny, and Ally (that's what he calls Finale). I have Auntie, and Auntie, and lots and lots of Uncles. Don't be sad."

"Auntie" happened to come home that night, having graduated from Fort Starch Military Academy with honors. I was so proud of her, and she was gushing about how amazing the new house was ("Mom, we're living in an abandoned club! How cool is that? You know Raven did that, too, before she destroyed Bridgeport?" "Raven destroys Bridgeport? When? Can it be before I'm turning in my grave?") and asked about some rumors she'd heard at school. About me.

"It's okay, Mist. I was sad, but now I'm okay."

I think she's just beautiful. She looks a lot like me, with Franco's eyes that don't hurt so much any more.

Melody came home the next morning, while Mist was sleeping off the long plane ride. My little girls really have grown up, Melody especially. Mist always was an old soul, but Melody has matured so much I can barely recognize her.

The girls are beautiful!  Mist is so cool!  And that bit with the baby daddy was awesome!

I have a question for you: when you town jump, do they lose all relationships, including their family tree? Like, do the girls still register Franco as their dad?

That's the first word that comes to mind when you see Mist--cool. I actually think Melody is the prettier of the two, but Mist is more unique.

They don't remember anyone from Lunar Lakes. Basically, it's as if I had created Cassandra as a single mother with lots of kids, no father involved. Nymph and Foam don't even show up, because they didn't come.

Wow! What a touching and real chapter! Good job !

Thank you, thank you. I usually try to keep things from getting serious, but there's always the one chapter . . .

Can I buy an heir?   ;D

Sure,  :) I'm considering putting them up on the swap shop. They are quite exceptional young ladies.

Does nobody think Finale is awesome? Really? Hmph. (Although, psst: Mist does have a cool, sleek style and Melody is just lovely.)

Sisters Before Misters

Right away, Melody caught a taxi to the theatre and signed up for the music career. At the moment she's only one of the "plants" in a crowd that screams at concerts, but I'm still so proud of her. Mist also got a job packaging at the old warehouse down by the harbor. Boxing toothpaste tubes doesn't seem worthy of her talent and genius, but I suppose she'll do what she wants to do.

Needless to say, she was not happy when teenage trick-or-treaters woke her up from her fourteen hour nap. "What's your name? Belisama Hemlock? Yeah . . . I'll remember  you. That'll be seventy-two dollars for the candy, and you might want to head down to the hospital two or three hours after eating it."

Mist and I laughed about the incident and were heating up a pot of hot cocoa when Melody came home. She had tear marks marring her makeup, but was grinning like she'd just won a million dollars. I asked where she had been for the past few hours, and she immediately launched into an explanation.

"Okay, so I went by Matthew Hamming's house and we made out behind his garage, and then--"

"Wait. Stop there. You did what?" I interrupted, startled.

She glanced down. "I . . . was hoping that he'd dump his girlfriend for me, then we could get married and Matt and I could move in with him and be rich and live happily ever after, like in all the fairytales."

"And? Did it work?" Mist asked sarcastically, rolling her eyes at her sister's fantasies.

"It seemed to, at first . . ." Melody glared at her sister, then said haltingly, "we went up to his room, and--"

"As your mother, I don't think I need to hear this part."

"Okay, okay. And then afterwards, he said that I should leave before Matilda came over or a paparazzi spotted us together. He just kicked me out--I left my clothes there, too. Mom, can you go pick them up tomorrow? I refuse to go to that house ever again."

I shuddered. "Sorry, love, I can't show my face there either."

Mist sighed. "I'll break into his house and get them tonight. Okay, Dee, what did you do after throwing yourself at Matthew Hamming and getting kicked out in your underwear?"

"I guess I started crying and wandering around until I ended up in the parking lot of that big filming studio, then . . ." Melody's smile, which had disappeared while she spoke of Matthew Hamming, came back in full force ". . . I met the most wonderful man named Bronson. He was so nice!"

"I'm sure he was, if you were still in your underwear," Mist muttered. Melody ignored her and continued to lay out the scene for us.

"What's wrong?" Bronson asked (remember, I was still crying).

"Nothing, just . . . I'm having some guy trouble. If I even have a guy, that is."

"I wouldn't worry about it--a pretty girl like you can have any guy she wants to, so don't settle for idiots like whoever you just broke up with--" ("Again, you weren't wearing any clothes," Mist interjected.)

So then we got to talking, mostly about silly things like zodiac signs. Would you believe that we were compatible? Then I remembered that Matthew was only a few years younger than my mom, and I was crushing on him for ages (which is so gross now that I think about it!) so I asked Bronson how old he was, and would you believe that we're exactly the same age!

"Can I drive you home, or call a cab?" he eventually asked. "I wouldn't want you wandering around on the subway dressed like . . . that."

He was so sweet and protective! I was officially in love.

"That's so sweet of you," I said flirtatiously. "Maybe we could go out for a drink sometime . . . how's tomorrow night for you? I have my graduation ceremony, but I'm going to skip it anyway. I went to boarding school, so it's not like I know anyone besides you."

"I'd love to--my dad owns this really exclusive club, the Aquarius, and I'm sure I can get you in. I'll meet you outside the club at--"

I thought it was the perfect time to go in for a kiss. So I went for it--but then he backed up and blocked me! Which doesn't happen to me often, let me tell you. There was this one guy I was seeing at LeFromage who was really--actually, you don't need to know about that.

  "What's wrong?"

"Sorry, Melody--I've only known you for a few hours, but I already know that you're a really great girl, and smart and beautiful and talented, but I have a girlfriend. Her name is Helen, and I don't want to be a cheater like my dad. I'll, um, call you that cab now, and . . . I don't think I can make it to the Aquarius if it's going to be a date."

Mist hung up her mug and went to bed. "Mom?" Melody asked timidly. "What does it mean when you try to kiss a guy with a girlfriend, and he doesn't let you?"

"It means that he's a keeper, love. And you should go to bed. It's Matt's birthday tomorrow, and I know he misses his mama." I smiled, patted her on the arm, and went down into the basement to work on my book.

Instead of going to her room, Melody tiptoed into the nursery. Matt was already awake, and he held out his arms to be picked up. She snuggled him close and whispered, "I missed you so much, sweetheart."

And so it was that while I held my daughter up to the cake . . .

  Melody held her son.

"Mom," she asked me while the children picked out their outfits, "why don't you get back into the dating game? Not one of those weird vampires you hung out with while I was gone--that repairman seemed really nice, and he seemed to really like you!"

"Thank you, Melody, but I am quite content to be an old maid," I laughed. "Trust me--I've loved too many men already."

Next, Mist cornered Melody. "Look, Dee, I know I'm mean to you, but I really do wish that we could have known each other growing up. I guess I was always jealous of you for getting to stay home, even though I loved being at Fort Starch. What I'm trying to say is . . . I wish we could have fought more growing up."

"Thanks, big sister. It means a lot."

Finale grew up into quite the little tomboy. She has the same mouth Mist did at that age, and my eyes, so I think she'll be the spitting image of me when she's a little older.

Matthew, on the other hand, is an imaginative, quiet child. He has my eyes, too, that were passed down to Melody, and strange golden hair. It's very pretty, but we don't know where it came from.

Note: For those interested in spoilers, the family tree has been majorly updated!

I absolutely HATED my sister when we were younger (you know, ending last year) so I probably understand that sentiment.

I love Mist, she's Evil, which is a huge plus, but she's not dramatic or goody-goody  ;D

She's really quite epic. I still haven't officially chosen the heir, but one has been eliminated:

The children are beginning to worry me. Every time I look into the living room, I see them watching TV, or playing video games. It worries me--why don't they go play outside, or go to a park? I've even contemplated boarding school to help them out of this rut, just so they'll be outside on the drive to the school.

It was only after a conversation with Mist that it struck me--they don't have anywhere to play! The entire city is asphalt, clubs, and drinks. I don't think there's any grass for miles around. It cost me more money than I could afford, and the grass is all fake, but it was worth it for the look on Finale and Matt's faces.

  The kids have a very . . . interesting . . . dynamic.

"Sorry, princess, top bunk is mine," Finale rolled her eyes.

Melody is still chasing Bronson Littler. She called him, promised they could just be friends, and hangs out with him just about every single day. Apparently they do flirt just a little, but he backs off if when it gets serious.

Perhaps the biggest news . . . Leaf finally came home from school! Amest, even though he's older, is still at Smugglesworth--we're not entirely sure why. Anyway, isn't my son so handsome?

He stopped by the Fangmann-Rubble house to ask for directions, and met William Fangmann's wife, Bianca. Perhaps he's like Melody, in that he fell in love at first sight and refuses to take no for an answer.

He may or may not have kissed Bianca Rubble three minutes after they met (at least he waited until she put down the baby).

Amazingly, instead of calling the police, she kissed him back in full view of her vampire boyfriend. Leaf is a very brave young man.

He proposed and moved in then and there. Because that's what Moonstone men do. I fully expect Amest and Nardo to be gone the day they graduate.

This just in--Melody finally made her move and tackled kissed Bronson in his living room.

And he was so surprised that he kissed her back and broke up with his high school girlfriend, Helen, for her. They're officially dating now, which is so sweet, and I think she's going to propose soon!
