Moving On

I gave birth to a boy at 7:32 A.M. on Saturday morning. I hope he'll be artistic when he's older, so I named him after Leonardo Da Simci. No, not Leo--Nardo! Little baby Nardo Moonstone.

Right now, Leaf is my only distraction from my train-wreck of a situation. Right now I have two kids in boarding school, one rebellious teenager, a fussy baby, and an ex-husband-now-boyfriend. A cuddly little toddler is very welcome.

Aforementioned rebellious teenager spent several thousand dollars at the hospital to receive plastic surgery in order to have her skin color genetically changed to blue. I confronted her about the operation, and her explanation was, "I just wanted to be in the running for heir!"

True, my only heir before was Mist (female and colorful), but I didn't think such a thing was so important to my children. I suppose it is important, but not enough to undergo major surgery!

Franco has been a real sweetheart since I took him back. He cleans up after himself (and me), takes care of the children, cooks, and is an excellent kisser. He acts like the husband he was before everything started, years ago.

  "What? Why?"

"Franco, I loved you for so long, and you made me feel like a complete idiot when it came out that you were having all of these affairs. I'm sorry, but as much as I love you, I just can't trust you any more." I sent him away, amongst his protests, and returned to Leaf and Nardo.

Melody didn't take the breakup of her parents badly. Instead of throwing a tantrum or shouting at me, she called up her older brother's friend Kristofer and landed a kiss.

They went to Prom together and Kris asked her to go steady! She agreed, of course, and they're now the biggest power couple in school. Melody rules the hipsters, and Kris is a big football star.

I hate to say it, but my daughter's dating life is far more rewarding than mine. I ended up making out in a park with town casanova Chris Landgraab. Melody, gossip that she is, told me that Chris's girlfriend, Theresa, was about to announce her pregnancy and there was no way Chris would leave her. That was fine--I wasn't looking for anything long-term, anyway. A fling in the park was more than enough.

We met up a couple more times, usually at the theater where they were filming A Thousand and One Mattresses, but never really talked about the future. Then again, we never really talked much about anything. We did a lot of making out.

I knew within a week that I was pregnant. With this baby, my reputation would be officially and forever ruined. It was bad enough that I'd had a child with my best friend, had more children than I did fingers on one hand, and gotten back together with my ex-husband (who had cheated on me with four women). But if I had a baby with the town flirt, there would be no way to clean my slate of broken romances.

After accidentally landing in Lunar Lakes, I married Franco and stayed in this alien planet for more than seventeen years without even going outside more than seven times. I'd had my heart broken over and over and broken two hearts myself, and had so many children . . . Nymph, Mist, Foam, Melody, Amest, Leaf, Nardo. And now the child growing inside me.

It was time to move on. To finally go home, before my family grew old and died waiting for me to finish school. I put Leaf and Nardo in their strollers, woke up Melody, called Mist and Amest at their schools, and bought airplane tickets to Moonlight Falls. I smiled, wondering if my plane would be derailed again--but surely nothing could be worse than landing on an alien planet!

  I was soooo wrong.

Oh dear!  Poor thing!  Will she ever get back to Moonlight Falls?  Interesting though, Bridgeport is lots of fun.

At first I didn't get it, because Moonlight Falls didn't have skyscrapers. Then I read Shewolf's comment and I went "ohh!" I don't have Late Night, so I didn't know that it looked like that. I love this story by the way. I've been reading it for a few days. ;)

I will never send a sim where she wants to go. It goes against all my principles.

A Way of Life

On the flight, the stewardess informed us that Moonlight Falls was surrounded by a blizzard, with no planes going in or out for days. Instead, the plane landed in a huge, horribly dirty gray city. All flights to Moonlight Falls for the next few months were booked, and I had quite a few children, so I immediately looked for a place to stay.

Had I been alone, I would have just rented an apartment, but no apartment in the city was nearly large enough for the entire family. Fortunately, I was able to buy an abandoned building that used to be some sort of club, and had enough money to set up a "house" of sorts. Sure, we have to get in using a tunnel in the basement, and there are practically no lights, but it's better than squeezing into a single bedroom.

I claimed the basement for my bedroom and study, since I'll need peace and quiet to get any work done and keep the bills from crashing down on us.

Melody, having voiced that she didn't want to go to boarding school with the others, also has her own bedroom. She spent far more than I had agreed, but I let it slide--she's gone through enough already.

The first few days were . . . peaceful. At least, they were peaceful compared to my routine in Lunar Lakes! I didn't venture out into the city at all, instead locking myself in the bedroom to work hard on my books while also taking care of the kids.

My pregnancy was confirmed a few days into the move. The doctor didn't ask who the father was, and I didn't volunteer the information. Back in Lunar Lakes, and Moonlight Falls, even, having a child out of wedlock was scandalous. In this city, it was a way of life.

I should have been happy that I wouldn't face the same behavior I did in Lunar Lakes--and I was, really--but at the same time, I worried about Melody. Mist was away at school, so I didn't have to worry about her, but Melody was different. She changes too easily.

I warned her that she wasn't allowed to go out exploring the city on her own, but I fear that being trapped in an abandoned night club with two crying little ones and a reclusive mother tested her too much. After exploring the upper floors--which she wasn't allowed to go to at all, due to structural problems--she took to the streets. And that's where she met Matthew Hamming.

Once she returned home minutes before curfew, all she told me was that she met him, he was nice, and they talked a little. I heard her raving on the phone to Mist about how handsome and distinguished and successful Matthew was, and how she simply couldn't wait! to see him again.

I know leaving Kristofer in Lunar Lakes really hurt her--she even asked if he could come with us, even though his parents absolutely forbade it. Still, it just seems so unlike her to crush on someone as old as Matthew Hamming! Sure, he's rich and famous, but he's also only a few years younger than I am!

I even tried to set her up with a boy her age, Jett Atkins, who is artsy and seems like a boy she would be interested in. But she came home furious, telling me that my attitude was ridiculous. "I know for a fact that Jett is dating Elspeth Cook, and that he broke up with Elvira Slayer last year. No one here cares, so stop making such a big deal out of everything!" She shouted at me before storming off to her room.

Sighing, I picked up Nardo and hugged him close. "Promise me you'll never fall in love with someone three times your age," I murmured. Nardo giggled and cooed back at me.

Melody continues to ignore me, and goes out to the town every night. I know for a fact that she's driving around with Matthew in his fancy car, taking in the sights of the city and listening to romantic music on the radio.

Other times, Matthew buys her dinner at the fanciest restaurant in town, then takes her to the most exclusive club and they dance the night away. Absolutely sickening, isn't it? I'm very seriously considering locking her inside until her adult birthday, by which time Hamming will be long dead of old age.

I have prevented her from leaving several times, but then she's just giggling over text messages and talking to him on the phone all the time.

The absolute last straw was when I walked into her room to see them both in there with guilty expressions on their faces. I promptly kicked Matthew out (literally--he should have a boot mark on his rear end for a good long time) and sent Melody into the kitchen for a talk.

  Needless to say . . .

. . . it did not go well. I grounded her, took away her phone, and sent her to clean out the bathroom with a toothbrush.

You don't have the triplets with amilia in the family tree. Just saying, it doesn't matter I just noticed. I might even be wrong (sorry!). I don't know. Either way this is an awesome story. And wow, yay many spoilers!

Yep, I downloaded a mod so same-sex sims could have children, then discovered there are many more interactions!

Haha

If I showed all the kids Franco had, the family tree would be very convoluted indeed. Besides, I can't remember any of their names! I know, tons of spoilers. I've had a busy week.

I really did not mean for this legacy to have so much drama when I started it. Sism are just so . . . dramatic.

Monopolizing

I let Melody off the hook after a few days of her taking out the trash and washing the dishes daily, and she promised to not continue her completely inappropriate relationship with Matthew Hamming, even if her friend Jett Atkins did get Elspeth Cook pregnant and this is way more low-key.

I went into labor seconds later, and Melody screamed and hopped around flailing her arms until I sent her into the nursery to watch the kids.

"Hey, Matthew? My mom's in the middle of giving birth, she won't notice if you come over. Meet at my place in ten minutes?"

After a relatively short labor, I gave birth to my last--a little girl named Finale Moonstone. The daughter of Chris Landgraab and Cassandra Moonstone.

I held up Finale to admire her perfect baby features, unaware that, in the elevator outside, Melody was plotting her petty teenage revenge to get me back for the days of grounding.

I doubt she expected it to end in awkward silence, with her sending him on his merry way.

She was quiet for the rest of the day, almost worried. She ate quickly, washed her dishes, and locked herself in her room. I went in to talk to her and found her curled up on her bed like a forlorn kitten, fast asleep.

Over the next few days, she was much more obedient than she had been since childhood. For the first time since arriving in Bridgeport, she actually attended school without cutting a single class, and did her homework instead of drawing graphic images on it. Her teachers reported that her behavior had changed massively. She had transformed from a rebellious teenager to a quiet, obedient young lady.

I was very impressed, of course, and jumped at the chance to be interviewed for one of her school reports. Melody asked me questions about my life before Lunar Lakes, life in Lunar Lakes, and my reasons for leaving--I'm sure her report will be far more interesting than any one else's! Finally, she collected some old things I'd used over the years--an painting of a flower that my father gave me, family greeting cards from Lunar Lakes, and several piles of maternity clothes from my various pregnancies.

Now that I think about it, the latter seems a little random. Still, I suppose it makes sense--the children are the biggest part of my life, and always have been. That's the thing about kids. They're beautiful, and wonderful, and you love them more than anything else in the world, but they have a way of monopolizing your life.
