Yes, the toddlers are cute. And yes, Silver is particularly striking. But I refuse to play favorites!
In addition: Margaret Hemlock will, if requested, be up on the Swap Shop! As well as the long overdue appearances of Coral, Alhana, and Usha. Now back to the story . . .
The money situation is looking up! I've been booked for quite a few gigs over the last week or so. According to the news, I'm a "Rising Star" in Midnight Hollow!
In fact, the money situation has improved
so much that Sarah and I paid for our own luxurious bedroom! Isn't it just gorgeous? Reckless, yes, but gorgeous!
You'll never guess who I saw while playing for tips the other day: Mum! And she looked so young--younger than I'd ever seen her before!
We fell to talking, of course, and she bought a few of my albums. I can't even believe how much I've missed her--just seeing her reminded me so much of my childhood in Dragon Valley.
I told her all about Sarah, of course!
And the girls. She was so happy to be a grandmother, and so happy that I was happy, and I was happy that she was happy! Life is going wonderfully for the other Moonstones, too: Mum's actually Sarah's boss at the hospital, Coral and Alhana have their own jobs, and Dad is also young and handsome as ever!
I had to cut our meeting short to hurry home and see my daughters celebrate their birthdays! Silver, being older, went first.
She certainly isn't . . . overly feminine. In fact, Aqua teased her about dressing like a boy, to which Silver responded by sticking out her tongue and reciting the blueprints for a Plumbot that was specifically designed to destroy younger sisters. I thinks she can take care of herself.
Aqua, on the other hand, is a carefree island girl.
After their birthday, Silver and Aqua went outside to play hopscotch.
While Sarah and I
played inside.
Then Sarah went outside to play in the sprinkler with the girls while I went to my upcoming gig at the coffeehouse.
Later that evening . . . "I like your outfit."
"Touché."
How would I describe the girls? Well, Silver is very . . . mature. Her moments of play are rare and short, and when she does pick up her dolls it's to reenact great scientific discoveries. She's very interested in futuristic technology . . .
. . . and when she doesn't have access to a hoverboard she engineers the sink to explode in her sister's face.
Aqua, however, is exactly the opposite. She loves to play, she loves the water, and she loves people (in general).
Her dream is to be a scuba diver in Isla Paradiso, where she'll live on a houseboat and adopt a pet dog to keep her company.
Sometimes Sarah and I peek around the nursery door to watch those rare moments of the girls playing together. It's hard to believe that only a few days ago they were toddlers, learning to walk and talk--and now . . . now, they're all grown up and ready to take on the world.
