That's why it was Harlequin-esque. Maybe we can have the real Harly off her imposter.

Ha ha, Nathaniel was great in this one! ;)

Must I plug Kenshin? Sorry, Pippin, back on topic now...

That's why it was Harlequin-esque. Maybe we can have the real Harly off her imposter.

Pippin is right. He tried using Harlie's line over and over and it didn't happen. There was one missing ingredient though. Nyx. Harlie has Nyxie's/Raven's eyes...they all do. Or rather, Cornelia Goth's eyes. It is the one trait that has survived over the course of more than 10 generations. It's amazing. Harlie has a Hunter-esque nose, but not exactly; Hellequin does, however, have his exact nose. Trivie looked just like Nyxie and Hellequin looks like them all. So I have to agree. The Clown Girl is one of a kind. She makes me proud!

@Pippin,

Breagadoir needs to get off this lovey dovey stuff and get back to death and destruction. He's losing his evil touch.

The Elven Town Jump-The Short Conversation

Harlequin simply looked at the maid and said, "Flirt with the elf, fed to the plant.  Clear?"

"Yes, ma'am," replied the maid.

Hehehe, Harlie laying down the law. There are a lot of things in your world where the effect is "Fed to cow plant." BAd make-over for Countess? Fed to cow plant. Flirt with Breag? Fed to Cow plant. Stupid ugly face? Fed to cow plant.

Thank you for changing this, now I will not be confused. OR I will, but about something else. And it was a nice little chapter thing.

"Fed to cow plant" is a pretty solid answer to all issues.

You're welcome.  Glad I clear up confusion  ;=)

The Elven Town Jump-The Latest Update
« Reply #726 on: September 04, 2013, 07:58:57 PM »

"Heaven continues to have a close relationship with her imaginary friend," continued the Watcher.

"Ah, so they're having an affair," concluded Breagadoir.
"What?!?  No!!" she retorted, sharply.  "That would just be...squicky..."  Then she stopped for a moment and said, "You're just trying to get a response out of me.  Nevermind your nonsense."  Breagadoir simply smiled to himself and he and Harlequin continued their walk through the park with the Watcher's voice in their heads.

"She spends time with her beloved Carl whenever he's not at work," the Watcher continued, "but it was Cosmo who was with her when she went into labor."

"Thank you," Harlequin said as Breagadoir handed her the candy he'd just stolen from a baby.
"Well," huffed the Watcher, "some people know how to treat a beautiful baby."

"I see she had a human baby," Breagadoir commented with satisfaction.
"So did your heir," reminded the Watcher.
"We've got that under control," said Harlequin with a tone that did not invite further comment.

"Umm...Carl sure does love his daughter," the Watcher said, ending that portion of the update.

"Alainn and Alanna have taken up playing catch as a new pastime," the Watcher said, introducing the next part of the update.
"Their neighbors must be delighted," observed Harlequin.

"Shanda continues to work on her relationship with her boss," the Watcher began, a bit hesitantly,

"and it seems they have gotten a bit too close."
"No, that seems about right," Breagadoir said.
"Agreed, that repulsive weakling of a son your sister birthed isn't a real man," added Harlequin.

"Alphin was freaked out quite a bit," began the Watcher,

"as Shanda went into labor."
"The loser still hasn't caught on that she's having an affair?" asked Breagadoir, incredulous.

"And so," continued the Watcher, as if nothing had been said, "she gave birth to a beautiful purple elf...but I don't really want to tell you about what happened next."
"Really?" asked Breagadoir, intrigued.
"I'll just show you," said the Watcher.

Alainn:  You are worthless!
Alphin:  But...but...mother!
Alainn:  You don't deserve to call me that!  You're not half the elf your sister is!  You've done nothing with the life I've given you and haven't even tried to keep your wife satisfied.
Alphin:  I...what?

Alainn:  She's cheating on you, idiot!
Alphin:  NO!!
Alainn:  Yes.  And you're too blind and weak to do anything about it.  Now that I have the next heir lined up, I don't need you anymore.  I hear they have some free beds at the fire station.
Alphin:  But...my child...
Alainn:  My heir will be raised by Nieve so he'll be worthy of my name.
Alphin:  But, mother...
Alainn:  I told you, you don't deserve to call me that.

Breagadoir and Harlequin walked off laughing as the Watcher sniffled back a tear.
"Poor Alphin," she murmured to herself.  "Poor boy."

Lol. Breagadoir is like most parents. We see the bad in everyone else's kid except ours. I wonder what Breag is doing to cure Sotal's inability to provide an elf heir? Not a surrogate, I presume! Now that would be dastardly!

Eghk. Good. Alphin was a pink little nothing. Hopefully the new baby will do Alainn some justice. I like her. ALAINN + COUNTESS FOREVER. GASP. Alatess! I have a new ship.

Surrogate.  Hmmm...

He always has a plan. And, catch seems, interesting.
He is definitely a schemer.

Alphin has done everything he really needs to do for the sake of the story.  However, I'm not promising that you've seen the last of him.

Alainn is a fun character.  I can totally understand why you like her.  Alatess?  Okay.  If you say so.

Alainn would totally steal the Countess from Sotal. Who'd wear the pants in that relationship, I wonder? Alatess, indeed ;D

The Elven Town Jump-The New Addition
« Reply #733 on: September 07, 2013, 11:48:07 AM »

Breagadoir had been inspired by Harlequin's stories.  Specifically, the story about her "aunt" Solanine.

That story was precisely why he'd encouraged Sotal and the Countess to use the Time Machine for their...recreation time.  However, they'd been less than fruitful thus far.
"Let's show them how it's supposed to be done," Harlequin said with a sly look.

And that's where Aeric came from.
Given that he's not the child of Sotal, he is not eligible to be the heir.

Given that he's a teen, he won't be eligible to get romantic with the maid any time soon.

Given that he's a caveman, he has a natural inclination for...science?

The dancer from the bachelor(ette) party never got around to leaving.

Breagadoir made sure to give him a warm welcome.
And one of the party guests had managed to fight off his appetite for tongue cake.

For a while...
