"Heaven continues to have a close relationship with her imaginary friend," continued the Watcher.
"Ah, so they're having an affair," concluded Breagadoir.
"What?!? No!!" she retorted, sharply. "That would just be...
squicky..." Then she stopped for a moment and said, "You're just trying to get a response out of me. Nevermind your nonsense." Breagadoir simply smiled to himself and he and Harlequin continued their walk through the park with the Watcher's voice in their heads.
"She spends time with her beloved Carl whenever he's not at work," the Watcher continued, "but it was Cosmo who was with her when she went into labor."
"Thank you," Harlequin said as Breagadoir handed her the candy he'd just stolen from a baby.
"Well," huffed the Watcher, "some people know how to treat a beautiful baby."
"I see she had a human baby," Breagadoir commented with satisfaction.
"So did
your heir," reminded the Watcher.
"We've got that under control," said Harlequin with a tone that did not invite further comment.
"Umm...Carl sure does love his daughter," the Watcher said, ending that portion of the update.
"Alainn and Alanna have taken up playing catch as a new pastime," the Watcher said, introducing the next part of the update.
"Their neighbors must be delighted," observed Harlequin.
"Shanda continues to work on her relationship with her boss," the Watcher began, a bit hesitantly,
"and it seems they have gotten a bit
too close."
"No, that seems about right," Breagadoir said.
"Agreed, that repulsive weakling of a son your sister birthed isn't a real man," added Harlequin.
"Alphin was freaked out quite a bit," began the Watcher,
"as Shanda went into labor."
"The loser still hasn't caught on that she's having an affair?" asked Breagadoir, incredulous.
"And so," continued the Watcher, as if nothing had been said, "she gave birth to a beautiful purple elf...but I don't really want to tell you about what happened next."
"Really?" asked Breagadoir, intrigued.
"I'll just show you," said the Watcher.
Alainn: You are worthless!
Alphin: But...but...mother!
Alainn: You don't deserve to call me that! You're not half the elf your sister is! You've done nothing with the life I've given you and haven't even tried to keep your wife satisfied.
Alphin: I...what?
Alainn: She's cheating on you, idiot!
Alphin: NO!!
Alainn: Yes. And you're too blind and weak to do anything about it. Now that I have the next heir lined up, I don't need you anymore. I hear they have some free beds at the fire station.
Alphin: But...my child...
Alainn:
My heir will be raised by Nieve so he'll be worthy of my name.
Alphin: But, mother...
Alainn: I told you, you don't deserve to call me that.
Breagadoir and Harlequin walked off laughing as the Watcher sniffled back a tear.
"Poor Alphin," she murmured to herself. "Poor boy."
