"and so," continued the Watcher, gushing and sounding as if she might sob any moment, "he came in like a knight in shining armor come to profess his true love for his princess."
"Please, can you dispense with the flowery nonsense and just tell me whether or not my brother has finally finished so we can go to our next land?" asked a very bored Breagadoir.
"Well, obviously
someone doesn't appreciate romance, though I guess we already knew that, didn't we?" asked a very snide Watcher. "At any rate, Virtue and Janice watched the stars and chatted, and then,"
"He popped the question!" she announced in absolute giddiness.
"Oh goody," moaned Bregadoir, seeing just how long his Watcher was going to make this update. "You do realize this doesn't have anything with Heaven finishing her requirements so that they can move to the next land, right?"
"Yes," replied a delighted Watcher knowing full well that Bregadoir, having already finished his requirements, was not, in fact, free to go off without letting her complete her update. She was enjoying this.
"When Virtue returned home, he found his father playing video games with his now zombified roommate. He shared the delightful news and they began plans to have the wedding the next day."
"They opted for a lovely outdoor wedding, and when Heaven arrived, she saw that one of her classmates had aged up to young adult."
"He'd been her first choice for a prom date, but Irving Ruiz had been the one who was willing to come over so she could ask him. Now, at last, she had the chance to get close to Carl."
"Carl?" Breagadoir mused. "That name sounds familiar for some reason. I think I've run across that name before. Maybe on TV. It could have been the internet..."
"Anyway," interjected the Watcher, thus interrupting Breagadoir's musings,
"this day wasn't about Heaven and Carl. It was a celebration of Virtue and Janice's love."
"The crowd ooh'd and aww'd as they exchanged their vows and their rings," she gushed.
"Is he wearing a kilt?" Breagadoir interrupted.
After a huffed sigh, the Watcher said, "Yes, Carl wears a kilt. He has a bit of a non-conformist streak which Heaven loves about him."
"The couple spent one more day at the family's home before opting to buy a place of their own."
"But they would be coming back soon," she said excitedly, "because that night,"
"Heaven and her beau went out for dinner,"
"And she popped the question!" she announced with pure joy. "Of course he said yes."
"Caoin was not entirely thrilled with his daughter's choice in a spouse, but he respected that Carl was Heaven's choice."
"Heaven opted to have the wedding at home so they could exchange their vows in her perfect garden."
"They had a little trouble getting started since Janice was trying to play in the sprinklers at the time,"
"but once it started, it was a beautiful ceremony."
"Followed by the bride joining in on playing in the sprinklers."
"So, with her perfect garden completed and her spouse found, Heaven and Caoin are ready to move on to their next land," she paused for Breagadoir's response.
Nothing.
"Did you hear me? I said they're ready to move to their next land," she repeated.
The only response was a light snoring. He'd found his way to escape her update after all.
