"...and so they settled on naming Heaven as the heir," the Watcher informed Breagadoir.
"So to recap," began the prince, "because Charmaine
told my brother she wanted her little girl to be the heir, he caved? Excellent strength for the monarchy there."
"No," the Watcher said, "he simply accepted and valued the input of his wife. Maybe you could learn something from him. And anyway," she continued, "Heaven is a very strong, independent young lady."
"Strong and independent?" mused the elven prince. "Must take after her uncle."
"She has fantastic people skills and is quickly making friends," continued the Watcher.
"And she's very health conscious and exercises with the workout channel frequently."
"And," said the Watcher, with a playful tone to her voice, "she may be a big sister before too long."
"Well, how nice for them," said the prince. "Are you done wasting my time with your updates now?"
"No," said the Watcher, all playfulness gone from her voice now. "Wait until you hear about Alainn."
"Her pink-skinned elven son, Alphin, is her heir."
"Actually," she continued, "he was Alainn's only possible choice since her daughter, Nieve, has human features other than the pointed ears."
"It's unfortunate as Nieve seems to be her favored child. Nieve has even published her first novel. Alphin does little other than school work and playing with blocks."
"Fascinating," said the prince, without any real feeling behind it. "Are we done yet?"
"No," said the Watcher, happily. "I haven't told you the part you'll hate."
"Alainn had her former lover, Nancy Langraab, brought back as a ghost."
"She proposed going steady to the ghost, and thereby achieved her lifetime wish as Nancy's ghost was Alainn's tenth significant other. Alainn has completed her lifetime wish. Have you?"
Much to the Watcher's disappointment, the prince was unphased. "I have not, but my heir is over halfway finished with his and we can't head to the next land until
both parent and child have reached their lifetime wishes. How is Alphin's block playing coming along?"
And with that, Bregadoir gave a cruel smile, declared this update finished, and walked out of the house saying, "Now if you'll excuse me, I have a date."
