He couldn't find his own daughters attractive. The game won't allow it. Although it does allow all kinds of weird in-law attraction.
Are you using the same copy of the town for the later jumps then? I suppose that only makes sense, continuity-wise. But unless Breagadoir is in town, they won't be related, so none of his children will be related either. The game would have no problem allowing those marriages.

Oooh, this is leading up to something big! Good job setting all this up, Pippin!

Even if Breagadoir is in town, they still won't be related because he split Alainn and Caoin up, thereby, severing their relational ties. Not unless Pip uses Master Controller to reattach the family ties. To use your word--this thing is about to get real>>>>>>> squicky ;D

Correct, story progression and free will won't know who is related, but I will and will move the story along accordingly.

I'm glad to read of your anticipation :=)
The siblings will definitely not appreciate Breagadoir making most of Moonlight Falls' population off limits!

Nightmare! My girl! I'm so happy she's come back. I told you she didn't perish!
Yep, she and Annalove both survived the fire.  So did Peanut, for that matter.  I thought you might enjoy seeing her again  :=)

The Elven Town Jump-The Gears Are in Motion
« Reply #304 on: June 19, 2013, 09:56:58 AM »

It was a special day for Damon.

As he was aging up, his half-sister Ella cheered him on, and Lady VanGould did a happy dance.

He aged up to teen, prepared to be Sotal's enforcer.

The happy dancing continued.

Damon...needed a wardrobe change.

"You're not the only one whose children are aging up," said Breagadoir's Watcher.

"In fact, "she continued, "Alainn's heir just aged up to toddler."

"Wow, really?"  asked the sarcastic prince.  "Already a toddler?  And to think, my heir is only a teen."  And with that, he went off to chat secretly with his heir.

Then, he chatted with the enforcer,

gave some attention to his wife,

and then met with the maid.
"Our son said you wanted to have a private chat with me," she said timidly.
"I know why you've really been staying on as the maid," was his reply.
"You do?" she asked.

"You don't have to be a rocket scientist to put it together," said the prince.  He then went on to lay out his observations and his conclusion.  Confronted with his insights, she had nothing left to do but confirm all that he said.

"I must say," said the prince, "I respect what you're doing and your devotion to Sotal."
"You do?" she asked, a bit shocked.
"Indeed," he said.  "We need to chat more about this, and about what to do next, but not here.  Let's meet tomorrow night at the Toadstool.  The upper loft.  Say, 8:00?"

"Okay," she agreed.
In the meantime, Breagadoir had one more thing to tend to.

Oooh! This is getting good. I mean, it was good before, but I like intrigue. Bravo, Breagadoir for calling the naughty maid out on what she's been up to. Although, no one ever said she was doing anything bad...so. Well, I guess we'll find out soon enough ;D

Great update. My favorite elf delivered as always!

Oh I can just imagine what kind of 'talking' Breagadoir has in mind.

Maybe Breag is going to use her for a purpose before he disposes of her. But her can certainly understand why the maid would stay on. Even if her son turned into a little wanker, doesn't mean she doesn't love him. What a good momma. I like that depth you've given her, Pip.

What?  You mean you're assuming Breagadoir is planning and scheming?  That's so unlike him!

Sometimes "talking" can just be talking...

Why, thank you!  She's been a fun character to write.

Perhaps he'll value her loyalty to his son and give her a promotion? That's like a weird joke because Breag is so unpredictable.

The Elven Town Jump-The Contented Laugh
« Reply #313 on: June 20, 2013, 12:32:02 PM »
Breagadoir was laughing contentedly to himself as he left the Toadstool.

He knew he'd done what was best for his heir.

Earlier that night...

At almost 8:00, the prince had finished up his day of investigating and went to the Toadstool.  He had an appointment to keep with the mother of his heir.

"Can I offer you a drink?  Something to eat, perhaps?" he asked after she'd arrived.
"No, thank you," she declined politely.  "I still can't believe you aren't cross with me."

"Cross with you?" he laughed.  "I'm impressed by you.  No one else has had both the nerve to take a stand against me and the intelligence to find a good way to do it."

"But you were clever.  You contacted Annalove to try to dig up dirt on me,"

"and with her help, you hired a private investigator to follow Sotal.  You weren't trying to attack me directly, but you tried to undo my route to the throne by trying to create grounds to take full custody of my heir."

"Quite clever, mother," said Sotal, entering as if on cue.  "Quite clever indeed.  My favorite touch was when you started a fire in front of the house so people would think Father had done it."

"In fact, if you hadn't used the computer in my room to contact Annalove and Mister Mathews, you might have snuck it past us.  Of course, he wasn''t exactly the sneakiest investigator, so I knew I was being followed and told Father immediately."
But even as he was speaking, someone else was making an entrance.

"I thought it would be nice for us to spend some time together, mother," said Damon.
"Oh, I'm not fooled, Damon," she replied, as she stormed up the stairs.  "When Daydream told me you wanted to meet with me, I suspected something was up.  And even if I hadn't, I could hear your father's voice as soon as we walked in."
"Well, hello, dear," greeted the prince.

"Don't 'dear' me," she retorted.  "What's the meaning of this?"
"You've been plotting against me," said the elven prince, mocking a pained voice.

"I happened to be there when the private investigator left your home," he continued.  "Imagine my surprise when young Sotal saw the same man following him around."
"Well, we've found enough dirt on you to get young Demarco taken away from you," said Annalove, practically spitting the words.
"Let's not be too hasty with that," said Dahlia, obviously swayed by her discussion with the prince.

"You're out of luck anyway," said the voice of the hired investigator walking up the stairs.  "It seems I've been offered more money to simply delete the file I'd created for you."
"WHAT?!?" asked both ladies in unison.
"And for a small fee, Nightmare did me the favor of destroying the photos you got last night," added the prince.
"It's the golden rule," offered Damon.  "He who has the gold, makes the rules."

"Speaking of gold," said Breagadoir, after swigging a potion.
"What did you just do?" asked Annalove in terror.

"Seems I have the Midas Touch," said the prince.

"We're good, right?" asked the terrified fairy.  "You respect that I stood up to you, right?"

"Of course," he replied.  "Your care for our son was..."

"touching."
He enjoyed a nice laugh with his fellow investigator.

"...and to think," said Breagadoir, "you deleted all that incriminating information you had on your computer with a single..."

"touch."

Breagadoir laughed contentedly as he left the Toadstool, knowing he'd done what was best for his heir.
