"...and as you can see," the Watcher continued, "Alainn is a highly decorated hero of the community. Just look at those awards on her wall."
"Yes, you're quite the creeper peeking in on her while she sleeps," said the prince. He then walked out to see his bride.
Breagadoir had a belated wedding gift for his bride:
elven plasma was a rare treat for the vampiress.
"You're delicious!" she said.
"Thanks?" the prince replied, a bit concerned.
"I can see straight up your nose into the empty space where your brain should be," said Damon.
"If I had a rich father like yours," said Dahlia, "I could afford good manners."
"If you had a rich father like me," retorted Damon, "you wouldn't be our maid."
Emelie thought Breagadoir should probably lie down in the bed after she drank from him. She didn't say it was lying down to rest.
Sotal was having some fun on the computer. He had created a fictitious dating profile and was chatting up an unsuspecting Belinda Crumplebottom.
"I'm not surprised you're a witch, since you're bewitching
me," the heir typed.
"Oh, you are such a charmer, Mr. Pride," the unsuspecting witch replied.
After his time in bed, Breagadoir found his fiancé dancing...badly.
She is so not Harlequin, he thought to himself,
but she'll do."So," began Damon, "maybe you could start getting your girlfriends to bring you money instead of extra dessert?"
"No," said Sotal, "Father has plenty of money already...and I
like desserts!"
Meantime, Pappy Wolff had called on the city's most effective, or only available, private investigator.
"It's that Zoe Durwood," said Pappy, "I'm sure you could find me something dirty on her so I could blackmail her."
"I'll see what I can do," said the prince.
And if I find anything, I'll blackmail her myself, he thought to himself.
Breagadoir was disappointed to see a small crowd outside of the house, but at least it included his beautiful, purple daughter, Nadine Durwood.
"If you'd been born earlier," he told her, "you might have been the heir."
However, at present, the elven prince had investigating to do, so he needed to get rid of the crowd.
And this is how you distract a crowd.
"Well, this is interesting. I think I'll just tell Pappy I came up empty handed and save this for myself," said the sneaky prince.
Speaking of sneaking, why did Dahlia sneak into Sotal's room to use the computer?
