The Elven Town Jump-The First Land
« Reply #30 on: May 26, 2013, 12:23:09 PM »
There was a flash of light around the heirs, and then Breagadoir found himself

somewhere...new.
"Wha...where am I?" he asked no one in particular.

"Moonlight Falls," came a familiar voice.
Handmaiden equals Watcher, he thought to himself.  "Umm, yes, that's what happens in the morning, but where am I?" the foggy-headed elf said.
"No, the name of this place is Moonlight Falls, idiot!"
"Hello, beautiful, it's so cute when you get all emotional," he said with a grin.

"You have lots of work ahead of you, such as building a small fortune," she said, glaring as only a jaded lover can.
"Money can always be married," he replied flippantly.  "I just need to find an heiress or a widow."
"Heiresses happen to be in short supply in the Falls and good luck finding wealthy widows."
"No matter," he said.  "Widows can always be created."  She decided a change in subject was in order.
"Shouldn't you start building yourself a house, former prince?" she asked, with wicked glee.
"Nah, that's what hired labor is for.  I'm going to go check out town."

In no time at all, Breagadoir had started infiltrating Moonlight Falls' culture.
"Hi, random teen.  Who are the wealthiest families in town?"
"The Crumplebottom sisters are rather well off.  The Ivy family is sitting on a load of cash as well.  That's their youngest kid over there."
"Thanks," he said, "and stay in school...or something..."

"Hey, mister!  Wanna buy a baked good?" asked the Ivy child.
"Maybe later.  What's your name, kid?"
"Peanut Ivy, sir."
"Someone named you that on purpose?" asked the incredulous elf.
"Yep," said Peanut with a smile.
"I'm going to avoid mocking you as it seems your parents beat me to it."

The elven prince intended to do research about Moonlight Falls' residents at the library, but got distracted when he found one of his favorite periodicals:  The Gothic Legacy.
"...skipping ahead to issue 62, that's when things really get going..." he said aloud.
"What's so important about issue 62?" asked his Watcher, a bit dismayed by his reading choice.
"It's not what, it's who," he answered, as if that would make any sense to her.

He furthered his research into the wealthiest targets in town by stopping by the consignment store.  "Hi, consignment store worker."
"Hello, handsome green fellow."
"So, if I were to marry a wealthy woman for her money, who would be a good target?" he asked.
"That plan is AWESOME!" she replied, revealing her evil trait.
After collecting a few suggestions from her, he set off for his first target:  the Crumplebottoms.

The first Crumplebottom he met was the youngest sister, Bianca.  They hit it off nicely.  They became fast friends and she agreed when Breagadoir asked to stay the night.  After all, his house is still under construction.

Her sisters were not quite so pleased to have this evil elf in their home.

Breagadoir heckled Beatrice for her actions, but then decided to leave.

"Aww, did the little magic girl hurt the poor, spoiled prince?" asked a taunting Watcher.
"No," replied Breagadoir with a wicked grin.  "My retaliation could be swift and violent, but I'm going to make it slow and agonizing instead.  I'm going to be here for a while.  Having an arch rival will make things more...enjoyable."

I think it's funny the very first person Breagadoir met is an heiress. I notice she left her family off the wealthy Sims list. She must be smarter than she looks. The crack at poor Peanut was solid.

I love Breagadoir's voice; it personifies his traits. Too funny...and since you have University you get an extra trait slot and I'll add Great Sense of Humor to your trait list ;)

The gems in this: let's start with Moonlight Falls every morning. Ah, I love sarcasm.

There is definite tension between he and the Watcher/Beautiful/Handmaiden. I wonder if that tension is going anywhere or if I'm just Projecting because I'm a hopeless romantic at heart? T'would be a shame if the handsome elf never found love (or that other thing people pretend is love).

Did I mention that I'm in love with Breagadoir's look? Very unique and I think he'd fit in well in MF. And I agree with Rosa. His jeering of Peanut is hilarious.

I've not come to toot my own horn, so I won't mention too much about the Goth stuff. I'm sure in his own time, Breagadoir will explain things. All I have to say to him at the present time is, Make Moar Enemies, lol.

This is very enjoyable. So enjoyable I read it twice!

He's a Watcher, Omnipotent  ;D

I hope the Watcher has a little fun with Breagadoir, unless she's not the omnipotent kind?

Peanut is rather unfortunately named.  How could I resist?  Yes, the Van Goulds are cleverly steering clear of our young elf.  Hide if you can, vampires.

Glad you are both enjoying it.  The Watcher role in this is more for observation and to offer guidance...not that he'll likely accept it.

Thanks!  I'm pleased you're enjoying it as much as I'm enjoying writing it.  He will definitely make moar enemies!

I'm really liking Breagadoir and his characterization. He kind of comes across as someone who could be from Hellboy at times. And having Beautiful the Handmaiden be his watcher is a nice touch.

Thanks.  I'm glad you're enjoying it and I appreciate the Hellboy reference.  "Beautiful the Handmaiden" probably didn't know what she was getting into when she took this job!

The Elven Town Jump-The Plan Gets Moving
« Reply #39 on: May 27, 2013, 11:22:31 AM »

"Your brother," said the Watcher, with a gleeful trace of spite to her voice, "is building his logic and working towards his goal of becoming a chess master."

"Oh yes," said Breagadoir, "he's quite a catch.  That's obviously why you kept sneaking into his bed, OH WAIT, that was my bed."
"So, this is your sorry excuse for a home?" asked the Watcher, changing the subject.
"It's a start," answered the elven prince, unphased.

"What's with the grain silo?" she asked.
"That would be my tower.  All great wizards have a tower, not that a hack like you would know.  However, since my parents took the liberty of stripping me of most of my powers, I have only a small tower at the moment."
"Why is one part of the roof missing on the house?" she asked.  "Is it a tiny, indoor garden?"
"You'll find out," he said, rather evasively.

"What's with the painting?" asked his Watcher.
"I just appreciate beauty," he answered.  "There is no woman more lovely than Harlequin Goth."

"Speaking of lovely ladies," he continued, "I have potential widows to audition."  And with that, he set off for the park.
As luck would have it, he ran into Rainflower Ivy along the way.

"So, I hear you're one of the wealthiest men in Moonlight Falls," Breagadoir ventured.
"Yeah, man," said the rich hippie, "you just have to find the peace within the money.  The financial zen, you know?"
"Groovy."

Breagadoir then arrived at the park and took a brief break from wealthy wife hunting to threaten Pip Goodfellow, who made the mistake of getting in Breagadoir's way.  Pip should have taken the warning...

However, Pippy would have to wait as Breagadoir had spotted his target:  Annalove Ivy.
She was immediately impressed.  "Wow, you're a private investigator?  That's so amazing and interesting!"
Yeah, I've seen your husband, he thought, shouldn't even be a challenge to win you away from him.
She had promise, though Breagadoir still had other options to explore.
But first...

Pip Goodfellow.

The victorious elf taunted his fallen foe.  "What did you learn, Pippy Longstockings?"
"Not to."
And thus, he moves on to the next prospective widow.

Joanie MacDuff.  And she was pregnant.  At least that ensured she'd be capable of bearing him an heir.
As it was getting late, Breagadoir joined Joanie for a nap on the porch...in his underwear.

And finally, he stopped by to visit the Crumplebottom sister he hated the least.

Which was a nice excuse to be waiting in ambush when this one got home.

"Hello, Belinda.  Surprise."
"Wasting time with your petty revenge?" asked his Watcher, after he'd suitably frozen poor Belinda.  "Aren't you supposed to be busy finding a wife?"
"No, not a wife, he corrected.  "Simply a financial backer who might give birth to my heir.  And I'm not wasting time as I've already decided who it will be."
"Who?"
And with a wicked smile, he turned and left for his home.

You would taunt me with cliffhangers. A pox on you!

I was wondering what the grain silo was for, but as always, Breagadoir has an answer for everything. I wonder if that tower is the place where Raven Goth comes to battle Breagadoir for his theft. He dares blatantly display the spoils of his plundering?

Rainflower is some hippie. He's a sellout; financial zen indeed ;D That was classic and humorous, as was the fight between he and Pip Omega.

One last thing though...can we get some better shots of Breagadoir in his bloomers?  ::)

Cliffhangers are fun!  I had fun trying to do a strange twist on the stereotype of hippies with Rainflower.  There will, indeed, be more bloomershots!

Well, I suppose you'll have to wait and see if you're right (he says knowing full well you're unfairly drawing on knowledge of the story-writer rather than the characters...which is a fairly good strategy, actually).
