Who's Your Daddy: Esrim Edition

Recently, I decided to create a little side-game to play when I'm not playing my Dynasty or Secret Fire, similar to the Raos. Combining this with my latest read-through of CSquared's Genesis Sims WYD, and my idea was clear. After creating a special Sim to use, I spent the next two or three hours meeting the first father and raising Baby #1 to a toddler, when I forgot to save anything. Silly me.  ::)

So, this is my second attempt at this project, and since I actually saved my progress this time, I can post it here. I don't expect to post regular updates, but I will try to post something every so often.

A Fresh Start (Baby #1)

Here's my mother for this challenge, Levana Esrim, whose name roughly translates to Hebrew as "White Twenty." Twenty is as close to 26 as I wanted to put in a surname, so that seemed appropriate. As for Levana, it just sounded good. I probably could've dressed her in white to match her name, but I decided I didn't want to. Lilac is perfectly fine.

And lo and behold, what was once an empty lot is now a semi-livable, semi-enclosed, semi-attractive home for our prospective mother. Like her clothes, her house is decorated in her favourite colour, lilac. Any wood items have been recoloured to white woods. I also bought Levana a street art kit, since her Rebelliousness wanted it, and I hadn't explored the skill before.

Once I find out the baby's favourite colour, I'll change the crib to match. Right now, it's lilac like everything else. The bear is a gift from Schipperke. I'm sure the baby will love it, once he sees it. He'll mail you a thank-you letter, Schip.

But that's all pointless talk as long as we haven't met anybody yet. Levana looks ready to meet a man, and so am I. Let's get this show on the road!

And this guy is my targeted Father #1, Oscar Arellano. Last time I went with his roommate, Clark Bellamore, but I didn't want to repeat myself. Plus, I think Oscar looks more distinctive, and that's always a good thing in Who's Your Daddy. His tattoos are probably a point in his favour for Levana, too. It's hard to tell, but she's covered with tattoos. I may have a screenshot from my last attempt to show off.

Hey look, I do! I think there are 6 tattoos in total. Two on her back, one of her arm, one on her stomach, one on her wrist, and one on her ankle. I may add more once Levana gets an Age Freeze.

The only roadblock I found is that Oscar is engaged to Vivienne. I'm not entirely comfortable breaking up a couple with my first father, but Levana is getting a lot of wishes for Oscar, so I decide to pile on ahead. Oscar isn't quick to cheat on his fiance, either, but Levana's charms are too much for him.

It gets to the point where Levana is confident enough to make a move on Oscar. After a brief moment of hesitation, Oscar brings her back for another kiss. It looks like we've got our father under our thumb.

Or not. Oscar wants nothing to do with WooHoo right now. Not wanting to risk her relationship with Oscar, Levana goes home. She'll just have to come and try again tomorrow before they have to go to work.

Instead she learns how to create street art on her walls. Over the course of the next three days, Levana paints her entire outside walls with street art, and makes a little money on tips and an Opportunity. I'm not sure yet how viable Street Art is as a money-maker, so I'll have Levana learn Painting while she takes care of her baby.

The next day, Levana comes back to Oscar's house, and he seems a lot more receptive to Levana's charms. It's not long before Baby #1 is conceived. Levana carries herself in a appropriately confident victory walk. Just one more thing to do here.

Sabotage the radio, of course! In addition to Rebellious, Levana also has the technophobe trait. Not a TV or computer in sight at her house, and not just because she can't afford it. It'll be interesting if any of her kids end up a Coach Potato or Computer Whiz or something. We'll see.

And Levana's attempt to getting pregnant has succeeded! As a side-effect, Levana went through morning sickness three times, more than I had ever seen with my Sims before. I hope the baby isn't being too uncooperate.

The sun rises over Lucky Palms. In the early red dawn, Levana is out riding on her- Oh, I didn't mention that part, did I?

Levana splurged and bought a motorcycle with some extra pocket change. Lilac-coloured, of course. Not the easiest vehicle to carry a family around, but if it's fun to ride, who cares?

Not long after this, Levana reveals that she is pregnant, and I am disappointed with her maternity wear. I had changed her outfit in the dresser in order to get some Lilac-coloured clothes for her. I thought everything in there was maternity-compatible, but I guess not. I'll just have to figure it out next time.

This time, Levana asked for a boy, which is perfect for me. She wanted a girl last name, and I already had a perfect boy name picked out. In that attempt, I had to find another girl name just so I could get Levana some more Lifetime Happiness. Fortunately, none of that is an issue this time. Levana is happier, and I get to use the name I want. Yay!

Levana's former targeted father, Clark Bellamore, show up at the grocery store. I'm not sure what's more awkward: the fact that he's here at all, or that he has managed to misplace his pupils. Probably both.

Nothing much happened over the next three days except Levana making more street art around the town. Before she can notice, she's suddenly in labour.

And out pops our first baby of the project, Amos Esrim ben Oscar. He was born with Friendly and Hates the Outdoors. Considering the fact that half of the house is already outside, this may be a problem. We'll take it by year, I guess.

This line had me laughing *so* hard, I was close to tears! I think Levana is much better off with her second choice of Fathers...After all, I don't think it would be a good idea to have a possessed father for your child!

Looking forward to more!  ;)

I enjoyed how you set up her lot to give her a nice, big wall to practice her street art.  Good thinking!  Good luck with this project, I'll be looking forward to reading more.

You put her in the maternity clothes before the twirl, yes? That part is essential. Good luck! I like your distinctive founder. What are her other traits?

Well, in her defense, he wasn't possessed before. It was only after the fact that all this happened. Maybe he's depressed about losing Levana, who knows?

I figured I'd take advantage of all the space I could use, though I've quickly run out of room. Maybe she should get a second skill.

Does she have to be actually wearing the clothes before the twist, or just having possession of them? She wasn't wearing the clothes, which might've been the problem. Levana's traits are Rebellious, Technophobe, Commiment Issues, Irresistible, and Family-Oriented.

Poor Management

Why is there a sole picture of Levana painting? Because that's pretty much all that she did in the next three days. Besides caring for Amos, of course.

Speaking of Amos, he happened to age up somewhere in there. No more blanket for you!

I've had no luck whatsoever with getting a baby with mixed genetics. The baby from my first attempt was all Clark, and Amos is the spitting image of his mother. Oscar gave Amos his hair and that's it.

Since his favourite colour is aqua, I've recoloured his crib to match his outfit. Amos is not amused. I guess he didn't like Schipperke's gift after all. Poor Schip.

As is my custom, I get a screenshot of Amos getting Attacked by the Claw. Don't mind the disgusting toilet in the background.

Levana picks the strangest times to show off her Irresistible moves. There's nothing particularly alluring about potty-training, last time I checked.

Since Levana has essentially no money thanks to poor management on my part, she has to do everything around the house, including repairing the plumbing. Ah, if only Amos was old enough to help. Isn't that what children are for, anyway? But where is Amos right around now?

Investigating the inner secrets of his hand in the midst of a puddle of the very water Levana has to clean up. What a helpful son.

Not long after this, Levana takes the opportunity to go to a party that Oscar is hosting. Not to talk with Oscar or anything, no! Perish the thought!

Levana's just there to go looking for her second father! I won't have her actually get pregnant until Amos is a child, partially so she has more time to earn money, but it doesn't hurt to explore before that point. I'm targeting Elders at this point so I can get some of the older men into the gene pool before they die off.

It sure helps that this guy is attracted to her. Along with every other guy at the party, including Jaycen Hendrix, Levana's former beau Clark, and one of the elderly best friends on that water lot. I think there was one person who wasn't attracted to her; Oscar himself.

I think his fairyness might be part of that. If he hadn't already fathered a child anyway, I would've been in a fix. I don't particularly want Supernatural Sims in the Esrim line. Personal preference.

I'll finish up this update with a nice screenshot of Levana riding off into the starry night of Lucky Palms. In the middle of a zombie apocalypse. Only Levana.

Amos is cute. I suppose you are not attempting the Occult cluster then?

Wow, a house covered in street art, now that is an exciting idea!

Love the tattoos and the motorcycle.  Our moms have that in common. ;)

I like your naming style, too.

I hope Amos' looks turn out a little different.  Toddlers and even kids are hard to tell with looks.  He may yet to grow up to look more like Mullet Man than you think!

Just had to leave a comment so I see this in my new replies feed.  Good luck!

Well, how else are you supposed to get away?  ;)

I'm not really paying much attention to the cluster system, to be honest. My main interest is in the genetics of all this. There might be occults at some point, but I don't know.

The only problem with the street art walls is that when I have to expand those walls, I lose the artwork. But then I can just add more, so it's all good. I made Levana Rebellious, and her very first wish was to buy a motorcycle. It may have set us way back financially, but you can't deny a woman her motorcycle, can you? I've seen Amos as a kid, and I think he might have a little more Mullet Man in him than I thought. Maybe.

Alien Intervention (Baby #2)

Levana gets a text inviting her to a costume party hosted by none other than Roy Palmer. (father #2, for those keeping score at home) Knowing an opportunity when she sees one, Levana heads out.

Levana shows up as a hot dog and promptly begins to flirt with Roy. No signs of trouble there.

Except for Oscar 'Mullet Man' Arellano, of course. At this point, Oscar and Levana were still going steady, so he was naturally offended by all this. Personally, I'd be more offended by that costume. What is Oscar supposed to be, anyway? A ninja?

Not wanting to start anything at the party, Levana takes Roy back to her house. I hoped this might prevent word from getting out about Levana cheating on Oscar, but no such luck.

Not that Levana particularly cares. She's having too much fun with Roy. I was a bit surprised about who got the Betrayed moodlet, though.

Levana's relationship with Amos took a nose dive when Roy came over. I didn't even know toddlers could get the Witnessed Betrayal moodlet. I knew children could. A fair amount of snuggling and playing restored their friendship, but I'm predicting future issues between the two.

But that's all later. Right now, Levana is Trying for a Baby, and succeeding. Around the same time, Roy's roommate died, which is a shame. He was supposed to be Father #3. I'll just have to find somebody else.

Like this guy, who showed up a day or two later. Levana spent an hour or two chatting with him, and she'll invite him back over once it's time for another baby.

Levana doesn't look happy right now, and I'm not quite sure why. She got a text from Oscar, but the game glitched out and I don't know what the text said. Their relationship plummeted, but they were still together.

Now armed with a plausible reason, Levana sends back a breakup text, effectively ending their friendship. Levana doesn't seem too broken up over it.

Maybe her mood has something to do with her newfound pregnancy. This time, I managed to get the maternal outfits squared away, so Levana can keep rocking her purple clothes in style.

Except when she decides to take a shower and go outside to work on her street art. Without getting redressed. In the middle of winter.

A babysitter shows up for some reason or another, (I think Levana had to go get fruit) and didn't want to leave. Instead, she preferred to read on Levana's bed. The first time I went to screenshot this, she stopped, as if she knew what I was about to do. I'd compliment her intelligence, if she didn't go right back to what she was doing not 5 seconds later. *sigh*

Once again, not a particularly eventful pregnancy. Apparently, I forgot to re-do her sleepwear, so that part remains woefully inadequate.

Still, at least Amos isn't freaking out like practically every other living person would have if they were present. He's such a comforting little toddler.

Amidst the company of her oh-so-loving son, she manages to give birth to another oh-so-loving son, Baruch Esrim ben Roy. Apparently, she didn't have a careful pregnancy, so Baruch is born with the Clumsy and Genius traits. We'll see if Baruch looks any more like his father than Amos.

Speaking of Amos, he ages up not four hours after the birth of his brother, thanks to careful timing on my part.

And still looks more or less identical to Levana. I think he might have Oscar's round face, but I'm not sure. Levana's face is pretty round, too. We'll probably have a better idea of his looks once he ages up again.

Levana closes the update with another shot of her motorcycle, though this time she's not outrunning a horde of flesh-eating zombies. Hopefully.

Oops, I forgot to answer your question. Yes, as you apparently figured out, they must be wearing the selected maternity clothes at the time of the spin. I enjoy the subtle sense of humour in this story.

I'm loving the whole thing! Nothing better than a purple loving, Hot Mama with a desire to Live to Ride & Ride to Live!!

As for Amos, I'm not surprised that he got the Betrayed Moodlet, children are a lot more sensitive to these things than most people realize. Toddlers included. Especially one that ages up & no one notices... ;( I do like the way he looks right now. Very cute!

Btw, am I seeing the beginning of a naming trend? First Amos, then Baruch. What's next, Carlton or Carolina? To be followed soon after by Deena & Enoch?

Great update, looking forward to more!!

Blah Blah Blah

Now that Amos is a child, he can't exactly still sleep in a crib. (Or shouldn't anyway) Therefore, he got a third of the house to himself, right next to the bathroom. After realizing that neither mother nor son would go to the bathroom with the other present, I had to make the bathroom an actual room.

At this point, Lucky Palms is in the depths of winter. Snow is a constant feature for this family. Doesn't stop Levana from enjoying some salad, though.

Nor does it prevent Lydia from going on a joy ride on the sofa the mean streets of Lucky Palms.

Wait, who's Lydia?

After Amos's first day of school, he came home with Lydia Tanner in tow. She's got two things going for her. One, she's an original townie; she's the unborn baby Tanner at the start of the game. (In fact, her father is one of my targeted fathers for Levana) Second, she's a vampire, which I think was inherited from her mother.

If all goes well between Amos and Lydia, they may start dating in their teen years. For now, I'll leave Lydia to look terrified despite the fact that she's beating Amos at Rock-Paper-Scissors.

One cool thing I found out is that kids will sit on their beds to read instead of lie down like adults. Nothing revolutionary, but I thought it was kind of neat.

While Levana's waiting for Eli Lancaster-Vokoban, (apparently he married and impregnated Lina) she takes the time to call another prospective father, Oxqa something or other. I'm saving him for 'F' though, since Hebrew has very few names that begin with 'F' and an alien kid would give me an excuse to use a different name.

Then it's off to the tattoo station for a age reset disguised as a work of art. Cheap, yes. Rule-breaking, hopefully not.

Plus it looks pretty cool.

Levana finally manages to catch Eli while he was home, and quickly gets to work. Lina seems to know what's going on, and is not happy. Lina Disapproves -5! *is sad that the reference will likely go uncaught*

And Levana soon finds out how laughably easy it is to seduce a Snobbish romantic. After she got him to break up with Lina, it took two kisses to get from "okay" to "extremely irresistible." Chimes were sounded, and Levana promptly left.

Levana helps Amos with his homework for all of ten minutes, because an unexpected birthday hits at that precise moment.

Already I'm a little afraid, since Baruch inherits his mother's hair colour. I don't mind, but I feared that Baruch would be another Levana clone.

Fortunately, my fears were unfounded. Baruch gets his eyes (both shape and colour, I believe) from Roy Palmer. He did get his mother's facial shape, but I can't quite tell with anything else. Overall, I'm happy.

As a close to the update, Levana proves that there is no bad weather for riding. Not even a snowy desert can stop the dedicated biker.
