A Fresh Start (Baby #1)
Here's my mother for this challenge, Levana Esrim, whose name roughly translates to Hebrew as "White Twenty." Twenty is as close to 26 as I wanted to put in a surname, so that seemed appropriate. As for Levana, it just sounded good. I probably could've dressed her in white to match her name, but I decided I didn't want to. Lilac is perfectly fine.
And lo and behold, what was once an empty lot is now a semi-livable, semi-enclosed, semi-attractive home for our prospective mother. Like her clothes, her house is decorated in her favourite colour, lilac. Any wood items have been recoloured to white woods. I also bought Levana a street art kit, since her Rebelliousness wanted it, and I hadn't explored the skill before.
Once I find out the baby's favourite colour, I'll change the crib to match. Right now, it's lilac like everything else. The bear is a gift from Schipperke. I'm sure the baby will love it, once he sees it. He'll mail you a thank-you letter, Schip.
But that's all pointless talk as long as we haven't met anybody yet. Levana looks ready to meet a man, and so am I. Let's get this show on the road!
And this guy is my targeted Father #1, Oscar Arellano. Last time I went with his roommate, Clark Bellamore, but I didn't want to repeat myself. Plus, I think Oscar looks more distinctive, and that's always a good thing in Who's Your Daddy. His tattoos are probably a point in his favour for Levana, too. It's hard to tell, but she's covered with tattoos. I may have a screenshot from my last attempt to show off.
Hey look, I do! I think there are 6 tattoos in total. Two on her back, one of her arm, one on her stomach, one on her wrist, and one on her ankle. I may add more once Levana gets an Age Freeze.
The only roadblock I found is that Oscar is engaged to Vivienne. I'm not entirely comfortable breaking up a couple with my first father, but Levana is getting a lot of wishes for Oscar, so I decide to pile on ahead. Oscar isn't quick to cheat on his fiance, either, but Levana's charms are too much for him.
It gets to the point where Levana is confident enough to make a move on Oscar. After a brief moment of hesitation, Oscar brings her back for another kiss. It looks like we've got our father under our thumb.
Or not. Oscar wants nothing to do with WooHoo right now. Not wanting to risk her relationship with Oscar, Levana goes home. She'll just have to come and try again tomorrow before they have to go to work.
Instead she learns how to create street art on her walls. Over the course of the next three days, Levana paints her entire outside walls with street art, and makes a little money on tips and an Opportunity. I'm not sure yet how viable Street Art is as a money-maker, so I'll have Levana learn Painting while she takes care of her baby.
The next day, Levana comes back to Oscar's house, and he seems a lot more receptive to Levana's charms. It's not long before Baby #1 is conceived. Levana carries herself in a appropriately confident victory walk. Just one more thing to do here.
Sabotage the radio, of course! In addition to Rebellious, Levana also has the technophobe trait. Not a TV or computer in sight at her house, and not just because she can't afford it. It'll be interesting if any of her kids end up a Coach Potato or Computer Whiz or something. We'll see.
And Levana's attempt to getting pregnant has succeeded! As a side-effect, Levana went through morning sickness three times, more than I had ever seen with my Sims before. I hope the baby isn't being too uncooperate.
The sun rises over Lucky Palms. In the early red dawn, Levana is out riding on her- Oh, I didn't mention that part, did I?
Levana splurged and bought a motorcycle with some extra pocket change. Lilac-coloured, of course. Not the easiest vehicle to carry a family around, but if it's fun to ride, who cares?
Not long after this, Levana reveals that she is pregnant, and I am disappointed with her maternity wear. I had changed her outfit in the dresser in order to get some Lilac-coloured clothes for her. I thought everything in there was maternity-compatible, but I guess not. I'll just have to figure it out next time.
This time, Levana asked for a boy, which is perfect for me. She wanted a girl last name, and I already had a perfect boy name picked out. In that attempt, I had to find another girl name just so I could get Levana some more Lifetime Happiness. Fortunately, none of that is an issue this time. Levana is happier, and I get to use the name I want. Yay!
Levana's former targeted father, Clark Bellamore, show up at the grocery store. I'm not sure what's more awkward: the fact that he's here at all, or that he has managed to misplace his pupils. Probably both.
Nothing much happened over the next three days except Levana making more street art around the town. Before she can notice, she's suddenly in labour.
And out pops our first baby of the project, Amos Esrim ben Oscar. He was born with Friendly and Hates the Outdoors. Considering the fact that half of the house is already outside, this may be a problem. We'll take it by year, I guess.
