Missing Items

Ok this may sound stupid.  I KNOW I used two items recently and now they aren't there.  What's worse, they aren't in the store either.  One is a diamond shaped mirror that cost $1 and the other is an outdoor shower like you might see at a beach.  Has anyone else seen or had these items?  Does EA remove items regularly?  It was a fairly recent acquisition for me.  I'm wondering if they were somehow picked up in a download which would really creep me out.

There is the Keep Me Clean Outdoor Shower. It's came with the gold edition of Sunlit Tides.

The mirror, I don't know.. I haven't got anything like it. If you have used it in a game, can you use the eyedropper tool to select it and see where it is in the catalog?

The only $1 mirror I've ever known about was the ghost one and I have most of the store content.

Sunlit Tides!!! Of course!!  Rica, I think that's where the mirror came from also.  It's the one thing I didn't re-download after my last reinstall.  I'll go check it out.

I hope you find it but I already looked all over the store and I never saw a Diamond mirror.  I have Sunlit Tides installed and don't have it.

I just had a look at the mirrors on the store for you, and the only one I could find that was similar to what you were describing is this mirror.

Thank you Sunshine and Rica.  That wasn't the mirror and you're right, Rica it's not from Sunlit Tides.  I re-downloaded ST but my shower still isn't showing up either.  I haven't checked to see if it installed properly yet.  As for the mirror, the only thing I can think is it might have been picked up from a download from the exchange or Swap Shop.  I'm pretty careful who's things I download but anyone can wind up picking up a bad item and not realize it.  Remember the infamous doll? 

The newest thing is many of my patterns are missing now as well.  I'm not talking about exchange patterns, but recolors of standard EA patterns.  The only swap shop pattern I had was samoht's stick men and that's gone as well.  Of course, that makes many of the "wallpapers/paint" things I've saved  gone too so I'm winding up with some pretty strange looking walls in my saved builds.  The game replaces them with what it thinks is right, and since I almost never use dark paneling, especially in a child's room, I have to go in and redo them all.  The only thing I've removed is University and these recolors were made long before that.

The Shower came with the venue that came with Sunlit Tides so you have to make sure to download that.  I meant that the mirror wasn't from Sunlit Tides.

Recolors are part of the userPresets.package so if that got deleted all your recolors were also deleted.

I did download it.  Doesn't show up.

I think my pc is messed up.  Steve used the dreaded words, "mother board might be breaking".  Please, noooooo!  We're buying a copy of Windows 7 just in case because Windows 8 really sucks.  Going to do another entire uninstall/reinstall, just in case I messed something up.  Have saved the necessary files. (Saves, userPresets, downloads,  personal stuff, etc.).  At this point I really don't think it's the game though since I also have lag and problems just typing email, and that shouldn't happen when nothing is running in the background except Norton.  (I checked)

Sorry for double posting.  Hoping for help.

I always save a copy of my downloads folder and from time to time, add to it or remove things I don't want.  So I checked the downloads folder in my EA/Sims3/ Downloads and discovered some things that didn't seem right and a LOT of missing items.  So I got rid of that folder, (keeping a copy just in case), and reinstalled everything from my saved on desktop folder.  Voila, all my recolors were back and some exchange patterns I didn't know I had were removed before installing.  Everything seemed fine and the game was running much more smoothly.  However, my Sunlit Tides GOLD edition doesn't show the gold part as in shrubs, starfish, shower and most importantly, massage table.  My purchase history shows I did indeed buy the gold edition yet the game keeps trying to get me to buy it again.  (When at main menu)  I'm going to try just downloading the venue part, the gold part, and see if that works.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Not sure if this is the same issue, I guess it is.  I downloaded the gold version of sunlit tides and no shower or massage table anywhere.  I have used them before and for some reason, poof, they are gone.  I have everything else from that download.  I really liked that massage table, but since I can't download anything from my purchase history anyway, I can't redownload anything.

To throw in my two bits' worth and probably add to the confusion, I've been having my own problems with reinstalling Sunlit Tides after my recent factory reset.  I've tried repeatedly to install it, it keeps telling me it's already installed, and it isn't there - not in the launcher as a selectable town, not in installed worlds either.  But for some reason the sauna, massage table and outdoor shower are all there in my game, and I know I didn't download them separately.

Salty and Schip, do you guys have University Life installed or have you just uninstalled it? My problems started when I installed it and have not improved since doing a complete uninstall of it.  I'm wondering if there is something there or maybe something with the super patch? 

Schip for you I'd suggest going through ALL the files in your launcher and checking if there is anything that says Sunlit Tides there and also in your downloads folder in your Sims3 files.  All it takes is one little thing to mess things up as I discovered when I had problems with Union Cove, which I also had to uninstall.     If you find any Sunlit Tides stuff remove it if you can and then try re-downloading.  (Plans on taking own advice)

Salty why can't you re-download from your purchase history?  Do you keep a separate file folder of your downloads on your desktop or a disc?  I do.  It's saved my bacon more than once.  (Just reinstalled a couple of your and Schip's houses that way.)

I didn't realize my massage table was gone until I started to redo my make over of Barnacle Bay.  I had put massage tables in my gym, that big Olympian one, and they were replaced by the game with sofas.  The sauna is still there but no massage tables.  I knew the shower was missing and could live without it but not without the massage tables. 

The things I noticed in my downloads folder was something about challenges.  Several files of them.  I never had had them before, and since I hadn't met any particular "challenges", (got a stamp), I figured these were bad.  When we were trying to work online with Origin the guys there said they could cause problems in there was more than one.  However, since they were basically "Peggy in Siberia", (remember the Capitol One commercial for reference), I didn't pay much attention.  I've removed those files but haven't had a chance to go back into my game to see if anything is different.

When I do get into sims3 site, I might be able to get to my purchase history.  It asks you to put your password in again and when I do, it just sits there.  And if I do happen to get into my purchase history, I click an item to download and it does nothing.  I can buy from the store though.  Anyway, I have University installed and did not uninstall it.  I thought maybe I would uninstall Sunlit Tides and redownload it, but that isn't going to happen.  If I remember, I have a few other missing items, that came with a world, world is there, no items and when I do purchase a world, I usually get the gold edition.  I can't even get the extra items from University, but that is another thread and I don't want to get off topic about the purchase history part.
