Store Worlds not showing in Launcher

I've been having a lot of problems in my game, the biggest one being unable to save after using buy or build mode, or edit town.  At the Sims site they advised me to do a factory reset.  I got as far as removing all the old saves, etc, and creating a new Sims3 folder (step 5 of the factory reset procedure described in that thread).  Then spent a lot of time downloading everything from the Store again.  It gave me the message that everything installed successfully, and I can find all my store worlds in the "Installed Worlds" folder.  But the launcher doesn't seem to know they exist.  When I open the launcher, the only worlds listed are the ones that came with the various EPs.  Does anyone know what the problem is and what to do about it?

By the way, I have tried exiting the game and restarting the computer, which made no difference.

Does your launcher show stuff still uninstalled?   If I try to install more than 5 or 10 items at a time when installing my store stuff, I get error messages and none of it installs properly or shows being installed.

Thanks, Rica.  But I don't think that's the issue here.  It shows everything installed, and there were no error messages while installing - it said everything installed successfully.

Do you have CAW open? If I run the game while CAW is open (not EIG) my store worlds don't show.

That's interesting, Chuckles.  But I never use CAW, so that can't be it.

I was wondering about trying to download again (which was about the only thing I could think of to do).  Glad to hear it worked for you, Rachel.  I think I'll try that.  I'd rather have 4 copies of each world than none, I guess.  :P

If that doesn't work, you could use the work-around we had for last time when worlds wouldn't install. Copy the .world files from your installed worlds folder, and place them in C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\GameData\Shared\NonPackaged\Worlds.

I'm not.  I've been having the same issues with missing worlds and items so it was good to check out this thread.  In my case I think I'm looking at a complete uninstall/reinstall again.

Well, it took some time but I've finally got all my store worlds back.  I followed Flynn Arrowstarr's instructions on how to re-install Sims Store items after a factory reset, in this thread.  Worked like a charm, thanks very much, Flynn!  I don't know if all my other store content is ok or not, as I haven't actually had time to try to play the game yet, but I'm so relieved to have my worlds back again. 

To Joria and anyone else having this same problem, I'd recommend trying Flynn's procedures.  I have to say, it was a bit nerve-wracking deleting all those files that he mentions, but I figured what did I have to lose.   :P
