Sims randomly teleport?

I've been playing The Sims 3 since last year and this problem only appeared when I bought Generations and Pets about a month ago.

When my sims are sitting on a couch or cuddling on the bed and I pick an action they would just randomly teleport to a spot around the couch once.

It doesn't happen all the time but when it does it's really annoying.

One time when I wanted to get them to WooHoo, and I clicked Make Out they just teleported from the bed.

And with this kind of teleport I mean just randomly appearing at that spot. No teleporting animation or sounds what so ever.

Anyone else with this problem?

Hi.

It sounds like you have a glitched sim or a glitched bed/couch.

You can test this by just copying the old bed/couch and replacing the original. If everything works fine from now on, the bed/couch was glitched and your problem will now be fixed.

If they persist it could be that the sim is glitched and that is harder to solve. First type in resetsim + name of sim in the cheat window, if this doesn't clear it up try moving the sim from the household in edit town and re-add it to the household again. Alternatively to move the whole family to the clipboard and then move them back in the house.

If you have been playing this particular save file for a very long time it could be that the file has become so buggy that the problem can't be fixed. If you look at the game moderation page you'll find some tips on mods that will help clear up error in your game and make it run smoother. But please try the other suggestions first.

You are welcome. You could also write resetsim* to reset the entire world, it will help clear up any stuck sims and make your game run more smoothly.

How do you finish the command?  After "resetsim" you usually have to type in the name of the sim you want to reset.

Just the literal "resetsim *" without quotes. The asterisk acts as a wildcard, it matches every single Sim in town and resets them.
