Don't push yourself if you're not well. Don't worry, we'll all still be here in the morning! Feel better.
Thanks Tia ^^ I'm feeling much better actually. Honestly, just think it was the weather... we went from having 80 degree weather to suddenly be 50 degrees out. But here is an update, as promised. Enjoy!
Chapter 19: Weddings, Newlyweds, and Honeymoons
Hope and I decided to redecorate our room to suit us a bit more. Gave it new wallpaper that speaks to both of us and we chose a new wood floor pattern. We got a vanity and a wardrobe, and replaced those horrible ceiling lights. No offense to mom or dad, but those lights they chose for the nursery were awful. But they’re gone now. And I think it looks pretty good.
Heh… Mom was out taking care of the beeboxes and was swarmed by the bees. She got stung a bit, but she’s ok. Think it hurt her pride more than anything. I don’t think her Mother Nature… ness, is quite working all the way yet. And maybe it won’t… not until all of us have been reunited.
Dad had me pose for my YA sculpture. He’s really talented at the sculpting and he enjoys giving my girl pointers.
Today, Hope and I graduated. School was ok for me and both Hope and I graduated with Honors. It was a nice ceremony, though I’m glad that’s done. Wish it were Spring though. As much as Hope and I like the snow, having a wedding outside, in the Winter is a bad idea, heh.
Though we share the same bed, Hope and I have agreed to wait until we say “I do” before we do anything more. But it’s hard to wait. Hopefully, the snow melts soon.
Yes! The snow is melting! Spring is truly here! We have the wedding set for tomorrow. Hope and I are so excited!
Her and I went and got ourselves fitted for our wedding today. I haven’t seen what she looks like yet, but I can only imagine she’s beautiful. I don’t think I look too bad, then again, next to her, I’ll look drab, but that’s fine by me. As far as I’m concerned, she’s the light of my life and deserves to shine.
Well, it’s time for our wedding. And… one of mom’s friends decided to go skinny dipping in the hot tub. I just kinda tilted my head at him, then shrugged. Let the guy have some fun. Besides, I get to make Hope mine.
I was actually nervous… I didn’t think I would be, but maybe it had something to do with the fact that all eyes were on us. As we stood under the arch, my throat was dry and my palms were sweaty. But as soon as I looked into Hope’s eyes… it all went away. There was no one else there but us. Our eyes met and I saw our life together reflected in her dark eyes. My nervousness bled away and we exchanged rings, promising ourselves to each other. Then we kissed to seal the deal. We were husband and wife!
The reception was very well received and the guests were happy. We cut the cake. Both of my parents came up to congratulate us. Mom was blubbering, though I didn’t have the heart to tease her about it. Truth is, I felt a bit weepy-eyed myself, not that I’d admit it to anyone else, of course.
Hope and I left to a hailstorm of birdseed. We went home, grabbed our bags, then went off to Egypt for our honeymoon. Yeah, I mean, we could have gone to a romantic place like Champs Le Sim, but… well, both Hope and I like adventure. We loved the idea of exploring tombs, of living a bit rougher than we normally do. Hope went swimming in a fountain in the market place while I picked up a new camera. Then we went tomb exploring. It was a lot of fun and we had a blast! Hope had to take a picture of me on a scooter… of course, I can’t hop on her broom with her, so I make do with what I got. I don’t know, I think I can pull it off, right?
Much sooner than I would have liked, it was time to come home. As you can see, not much has changed. Our little friend is still guarding Aunt Jess for Uncle Ryan.
I was eating some breakfast and dad joined me. We did a little small talk for a bit, then he got down to what he really wanted to talk about. “You’re a married man now, son,” he said quietly. “You remember what I told you when you were little right?”
I smiled. “Of course I do, dad. Don’t worry, I’ll take care of her. I love her.”
“I know you do, son.” Dad shared a smile with me. I finally understood why he always wore that grin of his. I was wearing one very similar to that. Think that’s what being in love does to ya.
Mom says Hope and I are typical newlyweds. Yeah, we spend a lot of time together. Who wouldn’t want to spend their time with such a lovely, loving woman? But she’s all mine.
On the few occasions that we don’t spend time together, Hope’s with dad, getting tips about sculpting from him. I think they have bond, being that they are both mortal spouses in what will be a house of Immortals. I try not to think about that though… the thought of losing both of them… it tears at me, so I just ignore it. It’s the only way I can get through.
I’m a bit worried about Hope… she’s been sick an awful lot lately. First it was a cold and allergies, now she’s throwing up. Mom smiles this mysterious little grin and tells me that everything will be fine. I sure hope so…
Whoa! Ok… mom was right, though now I’m having a different kind of heart attack. Hope is pregnant! She just told me! I-I… Wow… I’m ecstatic, honestly, I am, but I’m also shocked. I mean, I knew that it was inevitable. I knew that eventually we’d have kids, but… guess I thought it would be later. But wow… I’m gonna be a daddy… I ran to grab the pregnancy books my parents had used and handed one to Hope. She laughed, but she did read hers, all the while, looking at me out of the corner of her eye as she did. “Babe, are you sweating?” she asked sweetly. I could only nod my head vigorously. I’m gonna be a daddy!
