Oh, no! Is there anything sadder than a little toddler watching her grandfather die? Hopefully, the next little nooboo will help ease the grief.

I've been reading through this one lately, but I don't think I've actually gotten caught up to comment until now. Yay, Clotho getting "the hair"! I think ghosts can pick up babies; I've seen one pick up and tickle his toddler son (which was just so freakin' cute!). Losing the founder's spouse is often the hardest, I think. And Grim, you stay away from that nooboo!  :P

Yeah... it's very sad.  I hate it when the children and younger witness a death.  Makes me tear up.

Yeah, I've been ridiculously happy to see that Gaea's hair color has survived.  Hm, I haven't seen a ghost pick up a baby yet, I'm always hoping that Ryan will one of these days.  And yeah... I was really attached to Nick.  Truth be told, when I saw someone was dying, I was so upset it was Nick!  As much as I love Jess, I was hoping she'd go first.  I know that sounds bad, but I really did like Nick.  Lol, yeah... can't believe he came and sat on the couch and Clotho followed after him!

Oh, Nick!  Such a great founder's spouse!  Great update, and yay for three generations of green eyebrows!

Yeah, he really was.  Hehehe, yeah, gotta love the green eyebrows XD

Chapter 23: Time Moves On

Despite the pain and grief, life does move on.  I like to think that Dad would be proud of us; proud that we ARE moving on, no matter how difficult things are right now.  Hope is very close to her due date.  We keep expecting it any day now… Of course, I say that, but when she actually went into labor, I hate to admit it, but I panicked again, though only a little bit this time.  I just don’t like seeing Hope in such pain.  She joked that at least she had gone into labor in the nursery… wouldn’t have to go far to lay our child in their crib.

Welcome to the family Hypnos Incarnation

Hope couldn’t help but think of my dad as she lay our son in his crib.  It’s been hard on her.  With her own dad gone for so long, she looked up to mine.  I don’t think I realized quite how close they were until now.

Mom loves her grandson, though it makes her miss Dad even more.

Now that my dad is gone, Hope has taken over in the kitchen.  She’s already pretty good.  That’s my girl!

Aunt Jess made us take a little time for ourselves, insisting upon taking a shift with Hypnos.  Truth be told, with everything that’s happened, it was nice to go and just get some rest.

Clotho has really taken a shine to that toy of hers.  She also likes to chew on it a little bit.  It’s adorable to watch.  When she’s babbling in her little baby-speak, I could swear she calls it ‘Ros’ or something along those lines.

She’s also enamored of the dollhouse that her mother and I got for her.  Hm… she must be teething because she’s fond of chewing on the dolls as well.

Well, in the midst of teaching my little girl how to talk, I’ve found out that her little toy DOES have a name.  She swears he is a he and that his name is Eros.  Such an imagination!

Aunt Jess has found a new hobby.  She’s been very interested in logic lately and so got a chemistry set.  There are all sorts of noises coming from her room at odd hours… as well as explosions.  She swears everything is under control though.

*sigh*  Mom is still heartbroken.  I wish I knew of a way to make things easier… but, there really ISN’T a way.  And I’m not sure there SHOULD be, come to that.  Mom will always miss Dad.  As will we all.  But Dad knew what being with Mom would mean.  And Mom knew how it would be as well.  She went through with it because of duty.  But she won’t forget him.  I know that.

I still can’t quite believe I’m a daddy… twice over even!  It’s a miracle to me.  I also can’t believe that my little girl, that was just a burrito like her brother is now, is a toddler, soon to be a child!  Where does the time go?

Uncle Ryan pays another visit to get a glimpse of his newest grandchild.

With things finally settling down a bit, Hope and I have returned to our art.  Me to painting and her to sculpting.  It feels good.  And right.

Mom takes comfort in Clotho.  She’s almost a double of my mother, the biggest difference being skin tone; Clotho takes after her mother there.

I’ve been working on a new painting for a while.  Something about this one is driving me a bit.  Both Mom and Hope swear it’s another masterpiece.  We’ll see.

Welcome little Hypnos!  Will Eros be playing a bigger part in the dynasty, I wonder... ::)

*grins* You'll just have to see ^^

Chapter 24: Clotho is a Big Sister

Clotho still loves to play with her dollhouse, though she does toddle over to Hypnos’s crib every now and again, tilting her head to the side.

Clotho loves her Grandma Jess quite a lot.  The feeling is mutual, of course.  Aunt Jess dotes on her grandchildren very much.

In fact, Aunt Jess goes from grandchild to the other, spending an equal amount of time with both.  She, like the rest of us, can’t wait to see little Hypnos age up so he can do more things with the family.

My daughter loves her mommy very much too.  That little girl loves to cuddle and snuggle with anyone that will hold her.  And she’s very aware the effect her big dark eyes has on us adults too.  I think we’re in for some trouble with her…  *grins*

She’s still playing with that doll…  Every time I call it that, she corrects me and tells me his name is Eros.  *sigh*  See what I mean?  She’s already very opinionated, for a toddler that is.  I have a feeling it’s only going to get worse as she gets older.

My dad has returned for a visit!  This is the first time since he passed that we’ve seen him.  Uncle Ryan’s here almost every other night.  Mom’s been waiting for this, I think.  Their reunion was heartwrenching and beautiful, especially that quiet moment they had up in the nursery.  They just held each other until the sun came up and Dad smiled softly at her before he faded back to the Netherworld.  Rather than making her more melancholy, it helped my mom a lot to see him.  It’s wonderful to see her really smile again.

I find it a bit… creepy when I walk into the nursery and see this.  It really seems like the doll is watching over her.  Not sure why it’s so odd to me.  Mom, Aunt Jess, and Hope all tell me that I’m thinking about it too much and I should just let it go.  Maybe they’re right…

The wife’s gettin’ really serious about her magic.  I think it’s because Clotho is exhibiting the same kind of aptitude so Hope wants to be ready to help train her.  Makes me a bit envious at times, but I really enjoy watching her practice.

My son aged up into a toddler today.  His mama carried him to the cake and we had a small party here at home, just the family.  Looks like he’s got a combination of his mama and his grandpa Ryan’s hair!

We haven’t wasted any time with starting on his toddler skills.  He’s as bright as his sister and learns super quick.  He’s a bit more mischievous than Clotho, though I think.  He has that twinkle in his eye…

I love just before bedtime because Clotho likes to get a hug and kiss from all of us, but then she likes to cuddle with her daddy for a bit before I put her in her crib.

Awww!  Will ya look at that?  Our my kids the greatest?  Look at Clotho sharing her precious Eros with her little brother?  Isn’t that just sweet?  Pride swells in my chest and I can’t help but grin like an idiot.  It’s just so cute!

Chapter 25:  A Surprise!

My little girl became a child today!  She’s growing up so fast!  Not sure I’m ready for it… I can’t even think about her next birthday… cause it means teenage hormones… and worse yet!  Boys!  If it were up to me… she’d be a child forever!

I think I should be concerned… even before touching her piece of birthday cake, she ran upstairs, swearing there was another birthday to be had.  I think she means Eros… I guess it just goes to show you what kind of imagination she has!  But I’m still not sure about her attachment to that doll…

She insisted upon going to the mirror and to the dresser on her own.  She’s very opinionated and knows just what she wants.  Though her favorite color is black, she still likes to be a bit girly.

With Clotho as a child, we got Hope and my old bunkbeds out of storage.  It works pretty well since Clotho loves black and our boy takes after me with his love of pink!

I caught Clotho and Aunt Jess having a whispered conversation.  Not quite sure what it was about, but there was a lot of giggling, then Clotho gave a squeal of delight and hugged her grandmother, thanking her profusely.  When I asked what it was about, Jess just grinned at me and said I’d find out in time… not sure how I feel about this… It’s never a good thing when the women in your life are conspiring against you…

That doll keeps popping up in the weirdest places.  I think that my daughter, Hope, Jess, even Mom are messing with me a bit since they know I’m uneasy about it.

But every time I bring it up to Clotho and try to joke around with her, she gets a bit upset and then swears that Eros is real… that he talks to her and plays with her…  I try not to let it bother me.  After all, kids have imaginary friends all the time, right?  Nothing wrong with that…

I was watching her play outside from the upstairs window.  I saw her pull something out of her backpack and then “hand” it to someone not even there… Suddenly, there was a weird light of swirling colors!  My eyes were glued to outside.  I had to rub my eyes, sure I was seeing things!

But there was a young boy standing there!  I’m afraid it took me much longer than I’d like to realize that I had been wrong all along.  Eros was real.  The doll my daughter had received had been sent by him.  It was fate.  Like Hope and Hypnos, he was a ‘lesser’ Incarnation, but in name only.  I wish I hadn’t been so blind… But I realize now that it was because I was afraid.  I love my daughter.  Maybe there was a part of me that hoped that she wouldn’t have to go through what Mom and I were… but it isn’t up to me.  It also makes me cringe to realize that this boy… this boy will one day marry my daughter.  For now though, he is my son as much as Hypnos.  He is an Incarnation.

Eros gets his own bed added to the kids’ room.  There might need to be a remodel of the house, with as many new people as there are.

Already, it’s evident that with being an imaginary friend himself, Eros has quite the imagination!  Look at him here, a Prince practicing for his subjects.

And of course, despite how crazy things are around the house, my little boy hasn’t been forgotten.  He’s still learning to walk, which his Mama is only too happy to do.

Oh, and aside from making her imaginary friend real, Clotho also takes after her mother and her grandfather Ryan.  She’s loving her broom and can’t wait until the training wheels are off… I can’t help but worry about it!  Who knew I’d be such a worry-wart all the time!

Clotho sits patiently while her portrait and sculpture are started.  I paint her portrait while her mother works on her sculpture.

Little Hypnos was crying for food, so Clotho hopped to and went straight to her play oven we got her.  I didn’t have the heart to tell her that Hypnos was a bit young for muffins.  It was so sweet.  I watch her playing with her oven and it reminds me of my dad.  I think his discussing things with her when she was learning to talk was what did it.  She loved hearing him talk about recipes.

LOL!  That's ok, you aren't the only one that thought that when you saw him!  I think I actually cheered and then got a weird look from my husband XD  Also... he only gets better as a teen!

Thanks ^^ I'm trying to incorporate as many of them as I can.  Not sure how long it'll last, but we'll see ^^  And yeah, poor Chronos XD  He likes to think of himself as a 'cool dad', but in reality, he's like every dad out there and just wants to keep his kids in a bubble... particularly his daughter XD

Ok, just to let you guys know: I was babysitting my two- year-old niece this weekend, so I haven't had much of a chance to play Sims.  I've also been reading about that skilling bug and I'm kinda paranoid about playing my Dynasty until the new patch comes out.  What little I was able to play, actually been testing out Dragon Valley, which I have to say, is awesome!  But I hope to continue playing tonight when I get home from work.

Chapter 26: Snow Days and a Family Vacation

Mom’s already having a talk with Hypnos.  Might seem crazy to discuss something like what we are doing with a toddler, but all of us are born with that sense of… something.  We can feel the imbalance.  Hypnos knows what he needs to do.  I get a little ache in my chest when I think about the future, but I know we have to do this… only if we succeed will we see those who had to leave us behind again.

The last sculpture didn’t turn out quite like they wanted, so Hope had Clotho pose again.  I think Clotho enjoys that part.

After the sculpture was placed, I ambushed my wife with a kiss.  She was a bit surprised… but when I pulled away, it didn’t stop her from pulling me back to give me another kiss.  Oh, how I love this woman!

When I’m not painting or ambushing the wife, I’m spending time with my boy.  He’s such a good kid.  And he’s learning so fast.  He’s taken to potty training very quickly.  I’m so proud of him.

Our little Prince talks with his “Princess”.  I still cringe occasionally but I think I’m more or less coming to terms with this, with the fact that my little girl will not remain little forever.  Eros does treat her like a little Princess and he’s a sweet kid.

Clotho loves her little oven.  She’s been making muffins galore.  It’s cute to watch her.  I can hear her mumbling to herself as she does; she’s repeating the tips that my dad had given her when she was younger.

Because of all the snow, the kids haven’t been able to go to school yet.  Aunt Jess helps them out, tutoring them both so that when they do get a chance to go to school, they’ll be ready.  They’re both very smart and actually enjoy it.

I think Mom knows how much of a problem I have sometimes with what we have to do, so she pulled me aside and gave me a bit of a pep talk.  I know what we’re doing is really important, but it doesn’t make it any easier.  She smiled sadly at me and just said, “I know, my boy.”

Eros is definitely a good kid… but I think he’s dreaming about popping the question to my daughter already!  I don’t know if I’m ready for that!  Maybe by the time she’s a young adult I’ll be ready… What?  It’s possible, right?

Kids were finally able to go to school for the first time.  They were both pretty excited, especially being able to go together.

Mom and Hope catch up on things; we don’t get a lot of time to spend together as a family with all of us absorbed in doing our art or gardening or what-have-you.

Hope is really having fun with using her magic.  She used it to upgrade a few of the downstairs bathroom fixtures that dad didn’t upgrade.

Hope and I decided to take Clotho and Eros with us when we returned to Egypt.  They love it.  It’s all a grand adventure for them.

Hm… though couldn’t peel my little girl totally away from technology.  I think she was surfing the net, looking for some new Egyptian recipes she can try when she’s older.

To gain some visa points, I went on a few tomb excursions on my own while Hope stayed back at basecamp with the kids.  She thought she’d practice her magic by giving out good luck charms to the locals.

I was a bit exhausted by the time I got back… didn’t quite make it to the tent.  Hope had to come and retrieve me and helped me get to the tent so then I could sleep.
When he got back, Chronos was a bit tired…

While I hung out with the kids this time, Hope went on a small excursion of her own.  She found a really cool sarcophagus with some relics inside it.  Luckily, there was no mummy!  Then it was time to go home.

Once we got back, Hope took a bit of a joyride on her broom, enjoying the breeze here compared to the heat in Egypt.

Chapter 27: Birthdays Galore

My wife aged up to adult at her sculpting station.  When I asked why she didn’t say anything, she told me that she didn’t really want a party or anything.  Just spending a bit of time with me and the rest of the family was fine.  Honestly?  I think she was feeling a bit self-conscious about getting older.  I noticed she would go to the mirror occasionally to check for wrinkles…

Clotho and Eros grow closer every day.  Right now, they have fun just like other children: mainly, games of tag until dusk.  Or, they play the Prince and his Princess.  It’s adorable and they both look so cute!  Eros really does treat her as if she’s his Princess.  Can’t say I fault him for that.

Ryan’s made another visit and Eros made a point to have a conversation with him.  Not sure what they talked about, but I wouldn’t put it past Uncle Ryan to make sure that Eros was good enough for his granddaughter.

Growing up and having ghosts in the house doesn’t seem to faze my daughter at all.  In fact, she loves that stray cat that still hangs around, though he doesn’t come around quite as much as he used to.

I never really thought about it much, but today I realized something:  being an Imaginary Friend, Eros hasn’t gotten to experience a lot of what other children get to.  He doesn’t have parents, other than Hope and I.  He takes such joy in life.  It’s something that he won’t ever take for granted.  Look how much he loves playing on a simple video game system?

Finally bought my property.  I bought Shoreline Cabin and renamed it Time’s Retreat.  Nice little spot.  I’ve upgraded it to level 1.  Working on upgrading fully, but it’ll take a bit of time.

I took a page outta my wife’s book and aged up by myself.  Didn’t want to kick up a fuss.

My little girl asked her mom to sculpt her while she was in her Princess outfit, since she loved it so much.  Hope was only too happy to accede.

Hypnos turned into a child today.  Unfortunately, both Eros and Clotho missed the party because of school.  But they’ll celebrate with him when they get home.  Isn’t he a handsome little devil?  Takes after his old man.

Wow… Hypnos also got one of those dolls… Will he bring this one to life, as his sister did?  I’m not sure.  Guess we’ll see.

Once they got home, Clotho and Hypnos talked a long while, about a lot of stuff.  Here they are discussing the proper technique of building a snowman.

Time sure does fly!  I can’t believe it… but it’s already time for Eros and Clotho to become teenagers!  Oh boy… hope they aren’t like I was…  Anyway, we had a small family party, like always.  I just can’t get over how beautiful my little girl is… Just can’t think of her as anything else, though I know she’s not so little anymore.  And Eros ain’t half bad either.  He decided to cut his hair short, liking the feel of it more.  We got some very handsome and beautiful young people in this house, don’t we?

Yeah, I was sooo happy when I saw her age up!  I was just like, "Holy crap!  She's gorgeous!"  And yeah, she's mostly Hope, though I think she has her dad's eye shape and his nose.  And no, not at all ^^  Wait till you see this update ^^

Thank you!  I'm so happy with how they are turning out!  I can't wait to see the next Gen!  They have to be gorgeous too!  And yeah, I think it's adorable the Ghost kitty keeps coming out to play lol

Chapter 28: Whiling Away the Winter

As soon as we could, Clotho posed for both her portrait and her sculpture.  Her mom sculpted of course, while Aunt Jess painted her portrait.  And, like all those who live in the house, Eros also gets a portrait painted, so while the girl worked on Clotho, I took Eros’s portrait.

Wow, sometimes I can’t get over how good my kids are.  Soon as they get home, Clotho and Eros sit down and do their homework together and when Hypnos gets out an hour later, he sits down at the table with them.  Sometimes, they’ll help him out if he gets stumped and there’s a lot of laughing and joking around.  I don’t think I was ever quite that good as a kid.

It makes me really happy and when Hope and I go to bed, and as I fall asleep with my wife in my arms, all I can do is thank the Watcher for what I have.

Aunt Jess is now over 100 and she’s still going strong!  She whiles away her days at her alchemy station, often joking that the smoke and fumes help with her longevity. (Author’s Note:  Seriously… she is my longest lived Sim (aside from my Immortal that is XD) that I’ve ever had.  I’ve had a few that made it to 100, but only one or two live beyond that.  At this point, she’s like 106 or so.)

I still love to paint when the inspiration strikes me.  And it strikes me at odd times now and again.  I hate leaving a painting unfinished, and I tend to lose myself in it, so more often than not, I don’t eat or sleep until it’s finished.

Eros has shown an interest, and a certain aptitude for sculpting.  Right now, he’s working with clay and doing quite well.

Aside from his love of sculpting, and with Snow Flake day coming up fast, Eros volunteered to hang the holiday lights.  He thought the blue looked pretty and I have to agree with him.  He really is a great kid, very helpful and respectful.

My daughter is becoming quite the chef.  Apparently, her love of baking has blossomed into a love of cooking, just like her grandfather.  Wouldn’t be surprised to see her go into the culinary career.  There’s also been talk of going to college, though she’s not quite sure if she wants to yet.

Eros is more athletically inclined, and I’m pretty sure I heard him mention the military, but they both have plenty of time to decide, so we’ll see.

Well, the inevitable has happened… I was coming down the stairs and just froze about halfway up when I came upon this little scene…  It appears that it was my daughter who made the first move (guess I shouldn’t be surprised… Eros is too much of a gentleman!)  But it’s very apparent that Eros can’t deny Clotho anything and he only wanted to make sure that SHE wanted it before he said anything!  *sigh* Well, I knew it would happen… still, I feel a pang knowing that I’m not the only man in my daughter’s life.  My wife laughs at me and just pats my hand in mock sympathy.  I say mock, because she remembers how it was for us.  I do too, but… this is my daughter!  Aw well… I have to say, if she chose anyone, I’m glad it was Eros.

I think my mom seemed to sense the love in the air.  She was up in the kids’ room, sitting in the rocker and I could see her grin a little, then her eyes met mine and she nodded a little.  I eventually returned her grin and her nod.  The cycle was continuing.

Hypnos is taking after me and Hope.  He’s found a love of painting.  He keeps telling me that he wants to be just like me.  I’m always flattered and then I ruffle his hair and tell him he can be whatever he wants to be.

Winter is still in full swing and due to all the snow days, Aunt Jess has been tutoring her grandchildren again so that they don’t fall behind.

Wanting to be helpful again and since they didn’t have school yet again, Eros decided to try and help Mom with harvesting honey.  Except… he fared worse than she normally does as the bees didn’t hardly give him a chance before they were attacking!  Poor kid…
