Killing Sims
« on: May 04, 2013, 07:13:37 PM »
For a story I'm making, I need one of my sims to die in a fire... but she won't! She won't teleport in, and she's always fine when she fights the fire. What can I do?
Please take a look at my story, the Thousand House!

There is the option of going into moviemakercheatsenabled true (you have to have testingcheatsenabled true as well) and disabling autonomy for that sim by shift-clicking and choosing that option. I am not 100% certain that it will work, though.

The only way I've been able to kill my sims by fire is to enclose them in an area somehow - eg, by removing the door - and filling the area with flammable objects (chairs, rugs, etc). Then starting a fire either by cancelling a cooking interaction, or leaving the cheap fireplace on. Also, don't have a fire alarm, and don't let your sims try to put out the fire themselves.

Download this:

you can use Debug AddFire to stage the fire then click the sim, select NRaas/DebugEnabler/Options...Death, you can select Death type like Fire, Starvation, Blunt Trauma, Mummy Curse or whatever you like, the Grim Reaper will show up and collect your sim.

I usually make a small room and "con" my sim into going in to it, then remove the door. I usually fill the room with the cheap desk and then have my sim detonate the desk furthest from them. Eventually the fire overtakes everything and sim is now a crispy fried treat!

@ pixellatedpixie: Would that menu show up all the time or just when I had something typed in to enable it? How would it affect my game?

You sound like you never use a mod before in your sim life. ^^
Feel free to browse the page I gave you, there are many useful links to click there, like description of the mod, interactions it gives, FAQ....etc...The menu is always there under NRaas/DebugEnabler when you click a sim or an object, it's like hidden cheats used by EA when they test the game, it will be very convenient for you to control your sim to perform your story. I just test it on my sim to set her on fire by using Add Buff in Options:Sim, I added the buff On Fire and she is literally on fire noow....There are all other moodlets for you to have fun with too...like give your sim a mummy curse, cry uncontrollably, be sick...you can also set quality of plants to perfect, add skill book to bookselves...

If I haven't done it before, welcome to the forum.

In case you didn't know, there are some people who have never used a mod before.   Please be careful of your tone in the future.   All of our challenges for the forum actually forbid mods.  Also as a forum we don't let mods be the only or first answer to solutions/issues.   Yes mods fix a wide variety of things but so do normal every day fixes that have nothing to do with changing the way the game runs on it's own.

I forgot to clarify that the Debug AddFire is to use on non-home lot, like other sim's house, just click any spot and add fire there.
@Ricalynn: that's quite disturbed cuz i feel your tone is much more serious than mine. And in case you didn't know, I am aware that many have never used a mod before because I read this thread today on modthesims: (link removed - Ricalynn) LOL

I responded to your tone in which you said :

Someone thought it was offensive in the way that you mocked someone for having never used a mod before.  My tone was serious.   This forum is not a joke.  We're serious about our rules and how we expect people to conduct themselves.

wow...just wow..
That sentence you just quoted even ended with a smiley which was my biggest effort at being friendly (and the link you just removed was a harmless friendly discussion to develop more understanding between mod and non-mod players).
I offered the mod to the op because as a storyteller I felt the frustration with the limit of control I have on my sim, my town and the desire to set it to the way I want. I clearly did not mock anyone else I would not provided an answer as detailed as possible.
