The Incarnations of Immortality
The Incarnation Dynasty

Introduction:

‘The Incarnations of Immortality’ by Piers Anthony is one of my favorite book series ever.  When I finally decided to attempt an Immortal Dynasty, I was psyched to use this series as a bit of inspiration, as well as a theme.  For those not familiar with the series, here’s a quick Wiki article: Incarnations of Immortality.  Following this theme, I decided to go with Hidden Springs, a world that I haven’t seen used often, so I decided to have a bit of fun with that as well.  Without further ado, I present you the Incarnations.

Prologue: Arrival in Hidden Springs

My name is Gaea Incarnation.  And I hear voices… well, actually, just one.  Mind you, I don’t have full blown conversations with the voice, but I’ve learned to follow it when it does speak to me.  So this is why I’m now in Hidden Springs, far away from everyone I ever knew, starting a new- slightly terrifying- new life.

I followed the voice’s instructions and purchased the biggest property available.  So now I own a lot… granted, it’s a pretty lot and has lots of potential.  Welcome to my new… home, here at 7 Meadow Beach Dr.

I had very little money after buying the property, so I really only had enough to provide what I call a porta-potty, a table with a chair and a little outdoor grill.   Oh… and a sleeping bag.   I may love the outdoors, but this is a bit… ridiculous… even for me.

A bit depressed, and not really knowing where to start, I decided to go explore the rest of town, taking a long, leisurely walk.  To be honest, I didn’t want to go back to my lot!  It was just too depressing.  During my walk, I’d wondered up the road a-ways and found two people outside their house talking.  Never being shy, in fact, I’m quite charismatic, I approached them, smiling.  It was nice to see people.

The gentleman, Nicholas Riverhawk, had to run, but the young woman, Jessica Willows stayed to chat with me.  I also found out that Jess has quite the backswing with a pillow.  Yeowch!

I haven’t had this much fun in a long time.  Jess and I got on really well.  We talked and chatted about all manner of things.  It was like we had known each other forever.  On the spur of the moment, I asked her to come live with me.  Jess seemed intrigued by the offer and by the description of my circumstances.  I didn’t tell her about the voice, but I did tell her that I was embarking on quite the adventure and she would help build the foundation of something great.  Jess said yes.  I think she was looking forward to roughing it, honestly.

With the bit of money that Jess brought in, we were able to build four walls at least and a roof.  Still VERY sparse furnishings, though.  We don’t even have beds yet!  That’s ok though, we spent our first night in our little hut on the floor in our sleeping bags and it was actually a lot of fun, at least with someone else to share it with.

I was walking around town once again, getting to know the area when it began to rain hard!  Having not thought to bring my outerwear, I dashed across the street to take shelter at this house.

I had only intended to remain there under the porch, until the rain let up, but the nice owner saw me standing on the porch and invited me in.  He told me to make myself at home, that he was a bit lonely living on his own.  We chatted for quite a while and became fast friends.  Then, suddenly… I was kissing him!  I couldn’t believe how forward I was!  But what surprised me even more was that he wasn’t the least bit upset about it.  In fact, he enjoyed it!

I was so excited and not just a little flustered, truth be told…  I blurted out my situation to him, talking a little about what I was trying to accomplish.

Surprisingly, he didn’t think I was crazy.  He was a little skeptical I think, but he didn’t say so.  In fact, he insisted upon moving in with me, saying he wanted to be closer to me.  Without either of us realizing it, it had gotten pretty serious, pretty quickly.  Well, I couldn’t refuse, so he quickly moved in.  Using the money he insisted I take, we added onto the little hut, decorated a little bit.  All in all, it was becoming a home.  When Ryan saw the easel, he was overcome with longing.  Because of his job, he had been unable to paint as he wished.  I told him he had to follow his dream.  He was ecstatic to be at the easel, paint flying everywhere.  It was adorable!

For myself, to satisfy my green thumb, I have a small garden on the side of the house and am enjoying tending it.  I add to it when I find the seeds.  I’m a bit concerned about when winter gets here.  I’m thinking about a green house, but am not sure what to do about that quite yet.  We have some money, but are saving it… for emergencies.

Jess has taken up fishing.  It’s a passion of hers.  I’m encouraging her to take it up.  She enjoys it quite a bit.  It seems she’s also appointed herself as the cook in the house as well.  I’m not very good in the kitchen, so that works for me!

Our house still isn’t quite what I want, but we’ll continue to work on it.  I have plans to expand the house, expand the garden.  We’ll see how things work out.
A quick photo of the whole house, complete with garden

I’ve become the handiman around the place, since Ryan is always painting and Jess is either cooking or fishing.  The shower in the bathroom is always breaking.  I’ve gotten quite good at fixing it, if I do say so myself.

Ryan and I haven’t talked a lot about our relationship.  We love each other very much.  I’ve been contemplating this for a while now and during a run into town, I picked something up.  Ryan was at his easel, like normal when I walked in.  I was so very nervous!  Imagine, me, who has no problem talking to complete strangers, being nervous!  But eventually, I was able to pop the question.  Ryan and I plan on having quite the wedding, inviting all the town.  Oh, I’m on cloud nine!

What a beautiful beginning.  Good luck with the dynasty and Hidden Springs.

Wow, fantastic beginning! I don't own Hidden Springs, so I'll have to live vicariously through Gaea.

I love her wardrobe, especially her outerwear and formal dress!

Oh wow, thanks Rica!  I'm honored.  I'll probably take you up on that XD.  While I'm really looking forward to this project, I already have tons of questions and am panicking just a little bit because I feel I have no idea what I'm doing.  I'm really out of my comfort zone, but it's fun at the same time.

Thanks azokka.  That's great coming from you.  I do so enjoy the Elysis, so I take that as a great compliment.  Yeah, it took me forever to get her wardrobe just right XD  I normally don't spend so much time on it.

Should be fun to see a dynasty in Hidden Springs, I don't have that one, but it looks gorgeous! I love her formal wear. Does the dress come like that, or do you have a really awesome pattern to get that design on the bottom of the dress?

Yeah, I'm having a lot of fun with Hidden Springs.  I don't really know any of the towns well, not like many people seem to and I'm more of a mountain type person, so this is the perfect town for me to attempt a Dynasty ^^.  And it is gorgeous.  Thanks Rhoxi, the dress comes that way.  It's one from the store; I can't for the life of me remember the name of it... It's one of two, either the Eurelia's dress, or the St. Charles Ball Gown.  Next time I'm in game, I'll it up for ya.  But yeah, the pattern is built in, I just changed the color of the dress itself.

Chapter 1: Skilling and Near-death experiences…

Jess had a bizarre episode while fishing that she told me about later.  She was doing some moonlight fishing which she seems to enjoy when a zombie actually emerged right next to her and then proceeded to watch her fish!

I’m proud of my little garden.  It’s growing nicely and Ryan is hard at work on his paintings.  They’re doing quite well.

When Ryan took his first batch of paintings down to the consignment store, he couldn’t help but brag about our engagement.  He seems to be as over the moon as I am!

I told Jess as soon as she got up from a nap as well.  She was thrilled for us, though I think I caught a bit of wistfulness in her gaze as she congratulated me.  This is also when she related her zombie fishing story as well.

Some of the fish that Jess has caught including Alleycat fish, Salamanders, Tragic Clown fish, Red herrings… the list goes on.

I truly love working in my garden.  There’s just something about being in the outdoors and tending to plants that depend solely upon you that just… makes me so very happy.  I’m out there as often as I can be.

One day, I was out working on my garden, when it began to sprinkle a little.  I was almost done, had a couple more plants to weed when suddenly, there was a gigantic boom of thunder, and the world seemed to explode, then grow dark.  I’m not sure how long I was unconscious, but when I awoke, I was singed from head to head.  There was the smell of ozone in the air.  I had been struck by lightning!  How I survived, only the Watcher knows…

As if in celebration of my survival, there was a rainbow across town.  I made a decision.  Life was too short to worry about grand gestures, to worry about having the perfect wedding party.  I loved Ryan; it was that simple.  So rather than waiting to get married, he and I went right to City Hall to elope, having a private ceremony right there by the fountain.

Ryan was so thankful that I was alright; he even cried a little.  Our wedding night was magical.  It was a celebration of our marriage, of joining our two lives, but also of celebrating life in all its uncertainty.  Yet, it’s the uncertainty that makes it so very precious.  This only brings closer to home just what I am doing here means…

*****

Author’s note:  This watcher about had a heart attack when Gaea got struck by lightning…  It had just started to sprinkle a bit.  She had only a plant or two to finish tending, and I had switched to Jess I believe to check on her.  When I went back to Gaea, it said, “Get struck by lightning”.  I started to freak out!  I was so glad she didn’t die!  Now I’m paranoid about rain and thunder storms XD

Wow, seeing your founder get struck by lightning must be terrifying! And it looks like you're doing great on getting all the ingredients for ambrosia collected god and early, so it's not a huge race at the end. Congratulations to the newlyweds!

That was a nice screenie of rainbow! I love that you can capture that moment. Your writing style in this story is quite different somehow, but that was good one! See? I just loved to see others story when the founder getting married soon in earlier chapter, haha >_<

Yeah, I can feel what you experience there. My Sims too getting struck by lightning while gardening. But, the good thing that I can capture that unfortunately moment. I don't wanna do gardening anymore when raining >w<

Congratulations for the newly wed, then!

Yes, almost heart-attack inducing XD  Good thing my hubby was sleeping at the time, or I think he might have wanted to take me to the ER considering the noises I was making XD

Yeah, there are rainbows galore in Hidden Springs lol, at least in my game.  It's a lot of fun and very pretty.  I really do love the town.  It's just my kind of place ^^

Yes, lightning bad! lol  Hehehehehe, then my job here is done *satisfied grin*

Ok, just to give everyone a heads up.  I'm currently having some issues with crashing while in build mode.  I lost quite a bit of game with one crash, got it back to that point and am still having issues, though it least I was able to save more frequently.  I'm currently in the middle of reinstalling all of the EP's I have after uninstalling everything.  I kept my saved files, deleted unnecessary stuff, etc, so hopefully, once everything gets reinstalled, it will run better.  I won't be able to get anything out as far as an update till probably late tomorrow, after work and after some errands.
