Please read my previous post for an accurate update on things. please & thank you. <3 Our story will continue as soon as I get through all the mundane in this chapter, I completely tore down the house and did a rebuild. I still had really junky wallpaper and the way I built it made it hard to expand. So, I spent four hours of precious time building a pretty decent house. I was waiting any moment for it to crash, but lately my game has let me play hours on end without problems. I made sure to save every once in a while; to be sure I didn't lose anything. I demolished
EVERYTHING except for the museum and for example, the unbreakable shower and food replicator. I never planned on completely tearing down the house and rebuilding from ground up, but it needed to be done. I still am putting the final touches and I see little "boo-boos" sometimes. Plus, I've learned a thing or two about building lately, so that helps. I got out my dry erase board and made a house plan. I found that housebuilding is much easier and nicer with a plan. I don't have a particular theme for the house. The exterior is black and white. The big dining/ entertaining room is in black and white. I'm going to give a quick tour and a brief description of each room. Like, I said I'm touching up places still.
I am no Bob the Builder, but I try. I'm not sure I'd call myself decent lol. I would show room by room, but that's take a while! Maybe later! Here we go!
I'm going to start from the bottom of the picture up, in description.
The house is built upon a foundation, so we have steps onto a small "porch" area with some potted plants. To the left, is the kitchen. Love (The First Heir~Immortal) cooks most of the meals in the house, so she spends a small amount of the day there. There is a bar with stools, that seats 6; most of the time its very crowded. The vast majority of the house eats at the big formal dining room. To the right, is the living room/ TV area. My sims don't spend too much time here, plus Gregorio, Peace's father & Joy's husband, is a technophobe.
To the left, of the "walk-in-area" is a simple black & white bathroom.
Moving up is my personal favorite room, the dining/ entertaining room. Done in black & white, we have a Karaoke machine (Showtime) and some special effect machines (bubbles, fog, confetti~ Late Night) and a bubble machine. (Late Night) That kind of fun jazz is there for the many parties that are hosted for the best friends requirement. Then we have a dining table and buffet table, which is rarely served.
A glass door leads to a simple back porch area with benches for relaxing or reading.
Moving to the right is a blue & white bathroom. It has a potty for toddlers so that is where future heirs will train.
Speaking of future heirs, lets tour the nursery! I broke down and bought the "Lullabies & Nursery Rhymes" set so we have the changing table and monitor in there. The nursery contains everything a toddler needs – a rocking chair, swing, toys, walker, changing table, and a modern luxury crib. Pampered tots up in der!
Moving down is Love's bedroom. She sleeps in the Hover Bed Gobias got her before he passed away. She has a porch with some benches and a modern bookshelf, so she can read cooking & fishing books from the MultiTab.
The stairs you see weren't walled off until I started building the upstairs. The only way I could build, was if I walled it off. So, lets move upstairs.
We're almost through with all the mundane! When you go up the stairs, you enter the hallway to all the sleeping quarters. I made sure to keep the hallway large, so I can expand and build another upstairs. In fact, I made sure everything was up to standards, so I can expand when it comes time.
Moving up is the guest room/ child's bed & bath. I tried to make the nursery unisex, but the pink came out in this area. This makes me nervous, since the "watermelon-for-a-girl" trick hasn't been working since I got Island Paradise. With my other games, out of the four pregnancies, all of them have been boys! The women were on diets of watermelons! Pam told me ten usually does the trick, but I only got 7 in one of my pregger girls and she still had a boy! I might test apples in another file to see what happens.... three has always done the trick for me! It'll be a nightmare if Generation 7 Heir is a male! Plus I only want female heirs anyway!
*The quilts on the beds bug out and you can't see them in this picture, and those are the beds from the "Lullabies & Nursery Rhymes" set. Down and to the left is Joy's master bedroom and bath. It's identical to what she had in the original house.
Upwards is Joy & Gregorio's painting and sculpting studio. There are three doors, which are locked. I know UniLife made locking doors more vivid but it's hard for me to remember! One door is locked for Joy, then the second for Gregorio, then the third is locked against everyone, but I unlock it for portraits & sculptures. It makes it a tad easier to remember!
