Community Lot

I have made a community lot, but how do you make it work to have a party there (church with hall above)?

Welcome to the forum.   To have a party at a certain lot, when a sim uses the phone to have a destination party, it will give you your choices and you can choose the one you built to have your party and then you can choose whoever you want from the list of people you know.

I tried this but it does not happen. Am I doing it wrong when I built it? I put hangout on it.

Are you sure that you made it a community lot, and not a residential lot?

Took the words right out of mouth.  When you go to edit town, it will give you a choice of residential or community, you have to click on community and it should work then.

Well, that is strange then.  I know when I built my cemetary, I had trouble at first and had to go back a couple of times and it finally worked, but not sure why yours is not working for a community lot.

When you click destination party and it goes into map view, there is no tag on your property that you built? Is the tag a park bench or house icon?  Maybe the game just gives you the standard in game choices, but I thought you could use your own.  It would be a shame not to be able to use your own, but I have made a wedding chapel and used it before.  I have decided with this game, it is hard to predict anything anymore, lol.  I wish I could be more help.  Maybe someone else has some ideas about it.

Have you changed it to a park or a beach? I think those might be the only places you can hold parties?

Yeah I'm agreeing with samoht, you can't have a party at the graveyard.
