All My Fishes Aquarium
« on: July 20, 2010, 08:23:00 PM »
Hi,

I was wondering, since I can find no information about this anywhere, if anyone else have noticed that this aquarium breeds fish?
So far I have had 5 piranhas and 2 deathfish that has been born in my two tanks. I have no idea how often the new fish are born. Instead of saying capture of, they say Born in captivity.

Also really nice and informative forum and guides. Helped me alot when I have been stuck, and google keep sending me back here.

Welcome to our Forum, Archosia!

I had no idea that the fish can breed in the aquarium.  I assume you had less than the maximum of 6 fish.  Or did it go over that amount?  Do you recall if you had two of the types of fish that were born that could have been the parents?

At first there was 6 but a few died, but the aquarium would constantly be full. You have to have two of the same breed I believe, havent had any cross breading, as there was a shark as well in the first aquarium. Have tested it a bit further, seems to be random timer as to when it happens. Also if you only have perfect fish in they will breed perfect fish (same if it is the same quality on lower aswell) , if its mixed quality you get something between them, but I do not think it will drop to a lower one.

I've seen where one of the fish will eat the other, too.  It has to be a fish that's bait for the other fish.  For example, if you have a Deathfish and an Angel Fish in the same tank, the Deathfish will attack and eat the Angel Fish.

They do breed.  I had 3 clownfish and went to put in 3 more later on and couldn't because there were now six in there.

I usually use aquariums for breeding purposes, especially for deathfish, robotfish, and vampirefish. The clownfish seem to be more prolific breeders, though. No more than 6 fish can be in the tank at any time, so you must leave room for the babies. Often I'll have two pairs of breeders, leaving room for 2 offspring. The omniplant is a faster way of reproducing fish, however.

:o I didn't know that!  I'm definitely going to try that.  I always have put a variety in the tank cause I just think it looks better.  Huh, going to try that for sure...thanks for the info. :)

They came with High End Loft, if you don't have that stuff pack then you won't be able to get them.

I put 2 Vampire Fish and a Snail in my aquarium and the next day I had 3 Vampire Fish!  No more for the next couple of day, though.  And the Snail died.

Awww man! I was hoping it was the one that came with the vanilla game! I have all the expansion packs, but I don't know if I want to spend $20 for just a bunch of stuff! At least the EP's have other things that are worth it, i.e. travelling, and self-employment!

In my sims 3 house, there is an "aqarium room" filled with fishbowls (i placed them on dining tables) with fish inside .
mostly perfect ones. (lowest is very nice i think) There are exactly 1 kind of each fish (even deathfish).
That is how my sim fulfilled his lifetime wish
