I do know with so many different languages out there, there are so many words that mean different things, if anything, being on this forum, I have learned to start looking things up and verifying something first.  There is no harm done and I think we all learn from each other.  Now back on topic. ;D

Verb: To take unfairly, to rob. Alternate Spellings: Gyp, Gip, Jyp, basically, that is all it means, is to be unfair or to take from, so all Caitie meant, is "How dare EA rob you".  I don't think anything was meant by it.

Oh, I didn't think she meant anything by it. I just thought it's good to be aware of these things. Maybe I'm being overly politically correct?

As soon as I read that, I got a visual of the LTR box with the Observant icon.  :D

You're too funny, I do that too.

I wonder when they are going to release some more information on this EP.  I would imagine we will pretty much be in suspense until the game is released.  Usually they have another video and another article or two a few weeks before release.  They put out just enough to tease us. :D

That's exactly what I meant.  I just didn't know how to spell it; and, as spell-check had nothing for me (and I was late for work as-is), I just said "forget it, close enough" and called it a day.  Thanks, Saltypaws!

Actually you did spell it correctly.  :)

@Caitie

A quick word about the spelling thing. I never meant to imply it wasn't spelled right. 'However you spell it' meant to me that I'm not sure of its spelling or if it's spelled more than one way or not. English is rife with contradictions. I love language, so it's fun for me, usually, but it also leads to confusion at times. I just wanted to pass on some information. I did that. I wasn't trying to comment on your ability to spell. And if you had spelled it wrong, that wouldn't have changed what I meant. I really don't try to offend people and I hope you didn't feel like I was criticizing you. Oh, and I use questionable spelling more often than I'm aware of; I'm certain of that.  :D

NeoFelis, no hard feelings; I'll be careful with potential racial slurs in the future, lol.  I looked it up, and there is no "jip" -- it's "gyp" or "gip".  So that was my bad.

Right you are!  So, EA posted a "Sneak Peek" at LN a few days ago.  TollingBells already posted a link, but in case you missed it:

http://www.thesims3.com/community/news (posted on 8/10)

I'm very glad that EA is acknowledging how cartoony and "silly" (in their words) NightLife was.  It was supposed to be that.  (My favorite line: "The silliness was quite evident in ... the vampires who cavorted about town in an outfit similar to the one Sesame Street’s The Count would wear")  However, the tone was also that LN is going to be much less silly: "The Sims 3 Late Night is set to be a more mature and realistic look at the night scene in a more urban environment."  That's a relief!  No more cheesy vampires, or silly "bars" that are more like a middle school social.

Hey again Caitie!

I actually posted (with some issues, as it turns out) a link to the "Sneak Peek" in another thread here on the Forum, (I don't think I've seen TollingBells post, is it here in this thread?).

I was hoping to discuss the "racy" or "more mature" version of the "late night scene" EA's marketing Late Night in comparison with the relatively-tame Nightlife.

As you typed,

However, the tone was also that LN is going to be much less silly: "The Sims 3 Late Night is set to be a more mature and realistic look at the night scene in a more urban environment."  That's a relief!

I'm still a bit concerned how folks (and frankly, this Forum in particular) are going to handle these "more mature" themes, given we've already seen how carefully (in this very thread) folks can get about perceived (or what they consider to be inferred) comments.

We'll see what's in the actual expansion, and how these "more mature" themes are handled. I just wanted to open up the discussion a bit about how mature folks (of every age and gender, nationality/ethnic group, and game-playing experience) would consider dealing with such themes and content.

TollingBell's post is on page 29, reply #288.

I actually was thinking that when EA says LN is "mature" they're meaning "serious"; as in, the exact opposite of "silly", which is what NightLife was.  I'm hoping they don't mean "mature" as in "fit only for adults".  Part of the appeal of TS3, in my opinion, is that some of those "adult" themes are absent.

It is a 12+ game, almost all kids and teens have gone through the standard sex, alchohol and drugs fact lessons and should also know it is only a game. So there isn't much that is going to make people go  :o But I think this is getting a bit off topic so I am going to carry on my continuous questions which no-one can answer!  :D

I wonder if the Vampire Ghosts will be Yellow if they die in sunlight? I still want a bright red ghost so maybe that is a Sim sucked dry of theirs! I like red by the way!  ;)

I am going head first into a Vampire Legacy, so I still have Five Generations of the Characters to go, then I can start on the Shadowlurkers! I know getting ahead of myself but doesn't everyone!  :)
