I saw 'Van Helsing' *Shudders* I hope it is nothing like that! But then they wouldn't make it all gory, I still wanna know if we can store blood in jug or bottle sin the fridge, like with Scrap.  :)

That confuses me. Why do we have the ability in posting text to use marguees and changing colours if we are not allowed to? I knew this already so I wouldn't use them, but after seeing many posts I saw the moderators here don't use them to, so for what reason are they?

@Samoth04: If vampire sims will be able to store blood (plasma, if EA prefer) in fridges, we need a new trait for that to I think, called Freak. ;)
Let's hope there will be a bloodbank (plasmabank) for 'nice' vampires who don't want to kill a sim by sucking them dry.

Vampire - *Dials*
Delivery Man - Hello Blood bank would you like to order some blood?
Vampire - Yes, please.

Ten Minutes later, Delivery man drops off blood and gets invited for a meal, little did he know that he delivered the starter, and he was the main course! :D

OK, let's not start calling the vamps freaks just yet. They might be perfectly nice. They could have something like polymorphic light eruption or Porphyria with a garlic allergy. ;D

Also another question I have been pondering...

What happens when Vampires go to France or have garlic in their inventory?  :D

I think this is going to be a great expansion pack.  I might try the vampire thing this time, like I said, in TS2, I was not a big fan of the vampires, but this looks quite a bit different and they act different, it looks like anyway.

I hope so, too.  The cheese factor for TS2-vamps was way too high.  Really, what the heck was up with "Bleh!"?  What does "Bleh!" even mean?  Although it was funny to do it to some random Townie and watch them pee their pants ...

I know what Porphyria is (generally) but what is the first one? Is it the disease that if you go out in sunlight you get cancerous growths? Oh, and obviously you're either really into medicine or vampires.  ;D Without going into details (they would disgust some and might not be considered family-friendly) the legends of Nosferatu, at least, are now thought to have originated due to a poor understanding of what happens to the body after death and how disease is transmitted. The latter is why the 'monster' supposedly preys on those close to them in life first. Not that any of this is on topic. At least I hope not!

It'll be interesting to see what they come up with for these vampires in the EP. Will they still sleep in coffins and be able to turn into bats? Or are they going to tone down the supernatural overtones compared to the ones in Sims 2?

I have not seen too many vampire movies to make any comparisons too, except maybe real old movies, now I can't think of the actor's name.

Bela Lugosi maybe?

I never played vampires  much in TS2, will have to see how they play out in 3. So far I've found things that they have carried over from the earlier games have been improved on, so let's hope they stay true to that idea.

If you're not talking B&W, maybe Christopher Lee? I've never watched any of those, but the clips I've seen look violent and gory.

I saw some preview of Late Night somewhere where the EA guy said (strongly implied at least) that it would happen something with the vampire if he/she ate garlic. My guess is that it's the way to reverse the vampirism. :)

The second one is a type of sun allergic reaction. It's not that I'm really into medicine or vampires, I'm more into knowledge.  I'm a naturally curious person and go out of my way to learn things.

Nosferatu is more a more modern version of vampires that goes back a few hundred years but vampire legends and lore go back farther than that.

I don't remember exactly what I read in that interview about sleeping areas for the upcoming EP vamps. I seem to remember it being described as very interesting.

I knew someone would ask this.  I just knew it!  The basic answer is that just because something exists doesn't mean you can use it everywhere.  Carl didn't program the software for this forum.  It's from a company who makes forum software.  They put in all these goodies in an attempt to cover all the bases.  However, in our particular forum, we have standards and rules to keep it looking tidy and easy to read, so some of the functions aren't allowed.

Really, what the heck was up with "Bleh!"?  What does "Bleh!" even mean?

That's just something from very early vampire movies.  EA turned it into a parody more than anything.

It'll be interesting to see what they come up with for these vampires in the EP. Will they still sleep in coffins and be able to turn into bats? Or are they going to tone down the supernatural overtones compared to the ones in Sims 2?

No coffins.  They'll have special vampire beds.

There's supposed to be a potion that will cure vampirism.  I think the garlic will do something else.  Probably some kind of foul reaction.

Perhaps a drop in hygene (making them "sick") and a negative moodlet! lol

Yeah, I remembered an hour or so after I got off the computer that I was thinking of a rare disease that has 'xero' in it. A show I watched had a family with two kids that only could go into the playground at night, and if they had to go out during the day, they wore these things sorta like hazmat or space suits.

I think I'm a curious (in both senses of the word  :D ) person generally, as well. I used to subscribe to 'Discover' and I'd read all the articles, even if they didn't seem interesting at first glance. I have all this knowledge in my head that I don't know what to do with. And after a certain amount of time, I forget bits, of course. And then there's the cases where I know stuff and get annoyed with the popular lack of knowedge about certain things. Sometimes, I think if I hear, "I could care less" when they mean the opposite, I'll scream.  ;D I'm not perfect, obviously.  It's discouraging that there are so many kids who seem to think being smart and interested in learning things, whether it's for school or for fun, isn't cool, or whatever word is popular among the youth of today.

And if I recall correctly, there are similar myths in other parts of the world. Oh, and I'm not trying to start a game of one-upsmanship. I know that I'm quite ignorant about any number of subjects.  :D
