I could've passed on Ambitions myself...but looking forward to Late Night. I do hope they bring back romance LTW and maybe slacker...and I see hot tubs. I miss the pool table too...hope they bring that back.

Ooh, just had another look at that video and when you see the couple in the hot tub it looks very much like that is placed on something very similar to the stage in TS2. I do hope they have brought that back, it will add a new facet to building.

Just had another thought. It seems like EA is bringing back all the things we love from Sims1 and 2 (although I've never played Sims2), however done in a Sims3 'way' or 'order'. Essentially Late Night incorporates elements of Nightlife (Sims 2) + Superstar (Sims 1), with the supernatural creatures being released with every EP.

Ambitions is the closest we have ever gotten, to the much promised Simsville.
Late night sounds good.

Great news!  More instruments, keyboard and bass...and HOT TUBS! :o  Yay! ;D

I'm not much into vampires or any supernatural creature.  I made a vampire in sims 2 and couldn't stand the way he kept saying "Bleh" plus vampires are just, ugly. :P

This ep is going to be very popular I'm sure...it's mostly what everyone has been asking for.  Unfortnately they're probably going to bring out the pets sometime soon, ugh! ::) :D

I could do without pets, and overrated vampires.  :D

Weather is probably coming too. I just hope those work mini-games in Ambitions don't become the norm...because I highly dislike those.

I really want the Woohoo! LTW back though and i'm crossing fingers that it will come with night life. My romance sims in TS2 were the most fun to play.

If you watched the Game Spot, Hot Spot video, did you catch the EA developer talking about  taking the Sims through time and space?  He said he couldn't say much about it or show it because there was an embargo but that they were definitely taking the Sims through time.  OOOOOoooooo!  Now what does that mean?  Can we say medieval Sims, perchance?  Or futuristic 30th century Sims?  Sims in outer space?  Beam me up! lol  And what about doing Sims on a console?  I'm ready for that for sure as long as it's on something like Game Cube and not just a Play Station.   Holy cow!  Can you imagine what Sims WII would be like?  Ok, that has nothing to do with the new EP coming out but it looks like it's time for me to save my nickles and dimes so I can for sure have this one immediately upon release!
What?  Grannies can't play games?

Well the game is incorporating vampires. And vampires are immortal, by means of age, I mean. So it sounds reasonable.
To be honest though, I don't think we'll be getting any "travelling to and living in the Sim Stone Age" kind of stuff, it would probably be too much. But it'd be interesting if there was some historic/futuristic themes going on.  :o Me want more info!

The Sims players now have a reason to stay out late on the town! The Sims 3 Late Night expansion pack gives players all-access and lets them loose on a vibrant, active downtown scene where they'll rub elbows with celebrities at the hottest parties, hit the local bar after work, tour the scene with their Sims' band, kick back in a plush hot tub, and discover what's lurking as the lights go out and adventure begins after dark. Players will be able to take their Sims into the bustling urban setting where they'll be able to become a local celebrity, member of a music band, mixologist, director, and more. To gain entrance into the most elite clubs in town, players need to keep their attitude in check otherwise they'll be given the cold shoulder by tough bouncers or find another way onto the list. If chilling is the player's forte, their Sims can lounge at a chic club or dive bar or if they like to live on the edge, they can discover the secret of becoming a vampire. Whether embarking on a new career, painting the town red, or throwing a party on the rooftop of a penthouse, it's always up to the player to tell their unique stories with The Sims 3. What will happen when the lights go out and Sims get all access?

Maybe hotels are a possibility for this EP? Or maybe I'm just getting optimistic.

Someone mentioned penthouses before yes.  But it feels more like apartments than hotels to me.

And do I detect a new bartending skill on the youtube video?

The announcement said 'Mixologist', so I'm thinking that'll be a bartender. I SOOOO wanna be one of those, or a cello player. I hope they add a lot more instruments...Like violin...(sniff)

Those vampires may not sparkle, but the glowing eyes from the one in the video freaked me out...

Well if all instruments are also skills, then it's likely there will be a 3-4 limit seeing as they don't like to add a heap of skills with every expansion. What are the confirmed instruments anyways, other than piano, cello and drums?

Those are the 3 instruments you see in the clip. None have actually been confirmed (at least I don't think so) if they are a skill, they will probably be grouped as one skill eg. music, so you could gain skill by using any of the instruments - much like logic can be gained from a few different items, but it's still one skill.
