Some foreshadowing, perhaps? And when we get to modern Sunset Valley, the Landgraabs are at the top of the social ladder, while the Clavells are not. Might they have cheated at something other than chess?

Chester does not seem to be a nice sim. If I recall correctly, doesn't he have the Evil trait...?

Oh, those Landgraabs.  Guess you'll just have to wait and see :=)

Oooo, the suspense is nearly killing me!
Well, I hope the next chapters make it worth your wait!

Chester may not be the kindest kitten in the litter.  In fact, he may belong in a different type of cat-related litter...

"Too many things could go wrong,"

I told my precious Jenny.

"If I go backwards in time, I could erase the present moment,"

"but forward, a single week forward," should be safe enough."

I was wrong.

My one week turned into a full century

and my time machine

turned into rubble

and then things went black.

I missed two update already o_O

That was a nice effect that you have there. Oooh, I just love to see some people from Sunset Valley.

Glad you're catching back up :=)  Yep, Victorian/steampunk time traveler stuck in modern day Sunset Valley.

I'm really enjoying this Pippin.  I'm not posting much but I'm certainly reading and your writing style is very engaging.  ;D
You are really keeping us on our toes!
So glad you're enjoying it and it's keeping you engaged!  I thoroughly appreciate the compliments.

Oh dear...that can't be good. :o
Behind the scenes footnote:  It wouldn't let me blow up the time machine, so I actually had to blow up a fridge I placed behind it, so in reality, it's not as bad as it seems.  In story terms:  devastating!

Oh my watcher! Poor, um, his last name is Clavell...
Yep, I offer no first name for him.  I just thought it would be interesting that way.  It lets him develop for you as a character based solely on his actions and voice rather than his name sounding strong, weak, smart, etc. and pointing you in a direction.

When I awoke, I was in some strange, unfamiliar building.

As I got up and tried to get my bearings,

I came upon Officer Keaton.  She had found me at the scene of the explosion and brought me here to recover when the medical crew verified that I had no serious wounds.

As we spoke more, she patiently answered my questions and humored my strange obsession with our city's history.  She informed me that a flood had destroyed my old home...it happened the day I was to return from my time travels.  Jennie had been trapped inside

I was trapped and truly alone in this strange time.

Ouch. It seems the greeny thing starting to become your uniqueness in your story.
Hmm, it's really a nice touch to make everyone look pale. And everything seems better in current time.
I looking forward for more, Pippin :D

All that had been salvaged from the wreckage of my ship was my duffel bag in which I had my bedroll and a change of clothes.

My first stop was the graveyard

to mourn my beloved.

Next, I went to the empty lot where I had lived.

I knew my old lab equipment was buried somewhere beneath my feet.

Could I find it...and could I bring my Jennie back?  Elixir of life, they had called it...
