Actions won't queue - Resolved
« on: April 25, 2013, 08:31:23 PM »
Hey - I couldn't find this issue anywhere but if I missed it then I apologise for the repeated topic.

Essentially, the actions I ask my Sims to complete won't queue up in their action list, and the current action disappears as soon as the Sim turns their attention to it.

At first, this only happened with the 'sleep' action which I solved for a little while by buying new, and different types, of beds for all my Sims.

The issue, however, has expanded. For example, the 'Take a Free Vacation' opportunity appeared and so I clicked the tick to send them on their way. At first it looked like the two adults would go, but they took only a few steps before the action disappeared from their queues. I clicked on each Sim to send them out the front door, but the action wouldn't stick and the Sims didn't move (except for when they decided on their own action - so one Sim went and made a snowcone and the other just stood there).

I clicked on my teenage Sim (a plantsim) to ask him to change his toddler sister's diaper but the action wouldn't stick. He was able to 'awaken Bonehilda' though, who hopefully will take care of the toddler's needs for the time being.

The child Sim's actions also won't stick. She is able to do actions for whatever she decides to do also though.

I checked the save file for the game and usually when the game is corrupt the file extension will read *.*.sims3.bad which I rectify by deleting and changing the *.*.sims3.backup to the normal game file (by removing .backup from the file name). This game file does not have the corrupted file name.

I have all the expansions and stuff packs up to, and including, University Life. No mods. In fact, this is the first game I have had in which I haven't cheated and my family is doing spectacularly well. So I really don't want to lose it. The Launcher says my game is up to date.

Much appreciate feedback and any suggestions.

Cheers.

EDIT: I just went back to my game and the two adult Sims had disappeared from their house and their icons turned blue to indicate they were on the free vacation. The teenager can no longer even complete actions he decides for himself - he's standing in front of the fireplace and every time an action appears in the queue it immediately disappears. My child Sim is playing with her imaginary friend doll in her bedroom and Bonehilda is nowhere to be seen, so the toddler is in her crib with a dirty diaper and slowly going hungry.

Help!

Hi Pam,

I tried resetting the adult Sims while they were still in the house, and it didn't work. I then tried to reset the toddler because she was in dire straits and that DID work. The teenager and child were then able to complete actions, and when the adults came back they were good too.

There remained the mystery of the missing Bonehilda and a mysterious puddle in the kitchen floor that no one could clean up. Three game-days later, the Grim Reaper appeared at the puddle and all of a sudden a Bonehilda ghost appeared, pleading for her life. I did not know that they could die. The sequence played out and the urn disappeared from the lot, and the puddle dried up.

But now when I click on Bonehilda's coffin, it asks me to 'Dismiss Bonehilda' (who of course is no longer around) and I can't get rid of it in Buy Mode. How can I get rid of it???

I've had some problems with Bonehilda too. If you want to delete her or her coffin when she's not in it you can do so using the moveobjects on cheat.
From the moment I fell down that rabbit hole I've been told what I must do and who I must be. I've been shrunk, stretched, scratched and stuffed into a teapot. I've been accused of being Alice, and of not being Alice, but this is my dream. I'll decide where it goes from here.

Hi, I'm having a similar problem with my sims. They won't complete certain actions that I tell them too - like sleeping and going to work/school. As soon as the action reaches the beginning of the que it just disappears. I've tried resetting both the sims individually and I've tried the reset all cheat as well but I'm still having problems. It's been 4 RL days. Any ideas?

 lkdsfing,

Have you tried moving the family out and back in?
