Hey - I couldn't find this issue anywhere but if I missed it then I apologise for the repeated topic.
Essentially, the actions I ask my Sims to complete won't queue up in their action list, and the current action disappears as soon as the Sim turns their attention to it.
At first, this only happened with the 'sleep' action which I solved for a little while by buying new, and different types, of beds for all my Sims.
The issue, however, has expanded. For example, the 'Take a Free Vacation' opportunity appeared and so I clicked the tick to send them on their way. At first it looked like the two adults would go, but they took only a few steps before the action disappeared from their queues. I clicked on each Sim to send them out the front door, but the action wouldn't stick and the Sims didn't move (except for when they decided on their own action - so one Sim went and made a snowcone and the other just stood there).
I clicked on my teenage Sim (a plantsim) to ask him to change his toddler sister's diaper but the action wouldn't stick. He was able to 'awaken Bonehilda' though, who hopefully will take care of the toddler's needs for the time being.
The child Sim's actions also won't stick. She is able to do actions for whatever she decides to do also though.
I checked the save file for the game and usually when the game is corrupt the file extension will read *.*.sims3.bad which I rectify by deleting and changing the *.*.sims3.backup to the normal game file (by removing .backup from the file name). This game file does not have the corrupted file name.
I have all the expansions and stuff packs up to, and including, University Life. No mods. In fact, this is the first game I have had in which I haven't cheated and my family is doing spectacularly well. So I really don't want to lose it. The Launcher says my game is up to date.
Much appreciate feedback and any suggestions.
Cheers.
EDIT: I just went back to my game and the two adult Sims had disappeared from their house and their icons turned blue to indicate they were on the free vacation. The teenager can no longer even complete actions he decides for himself - he's standing in front of the fireplace and every time an action appears in the queue it immediately disappears. My child Sim is playing with her imaginary friend doll in her bedroom and Bonehilda is nowhere to be seen, so the toddler is in her crib with a dirty diaper and slowly going hungry.
Help!
