Someone has a small program out there too, used to be called "Custard", that you can use to look at the Sims3pack before you install it. It will show you the items that are CC and sometimes tell you if they are corrupted or not. But it also gives you the functionality of deselecting the CC that you don't want to install with the Sims3pack when you install it. It is an older program and I am not sure if the maker keeps it up-to-date. But anytime I install a lot, sim, or household from the exchange and I don't know who it came from, I run it through Custard first and deselect anything CC-ish.
