Just to say, I've played about 4 or 5 chapters (I've even jumped town!) but I can't update for another few days. So, prepare for lots of updates at the end of the week!

Chapter 23 - The Sarcastic Toddler
« Reply #77 on: August 03, 2013, 07:12:45 AM »
Little Aimee had her toddler birthday. I don’t know about you, but I think the blanket stage is the most boring thing ever. How did I survive through those 3 days of my life?

Emmy and Alessandra wanted to put her in cute pink dresses with bunches but she had her own ideas...

No pink for Aimee! Shame she has to put up with that awful pink nursery!

The next day was a special day. It was Auntie Emmy and Alessandra’s first wedding anniversary and my prom. I went with my Karin of course (we had a hunch there was a mystery to be solved...)

Karin had a very pretty dress on while I opted for my more casual athletic clothes. She didn’t mind (well, if she did she wasn’t showing it).

While we were out dancing (we were the cutest couple on the dancefloor!), Emmy and Alessandra gave each other flowers and went stargazing on the beach.

Marion finally got her room redecorated and started her painting. She has a drafting table but she’s too little to use it (ha ha) so she has to stick with her easel for now.

Marion has become best friends with little Aimee. They play Peek-a-Boo, the most pointless game in the world.

Marion: Where’s Marion gone?
Aimee: *thinking* You’re right there. You’ve just got your hands over your face.
Aimee: *out loud* Where Marion gone?

Marion: Here she is!

Aimee: *thinking* Oh wow. What a surprise *rolls eyes*
Aimee: *out loud* Yay!

Granny Pat was out and about in her ghostly form and headed up to Aimee’s nursery. Auntie Emmy was there to meet her.

Pat: Oh, Emmy! It’s so good to see you again!
Emmy: Mum! We all miss you so much!

Pat: So are you married now? I’m assuming the little one is yours, right?

Emmy: Yes, that’s our Aimee. She’s adopted but she was only a tiny nooboo when we adopted her.

Emmy: Oh, here she comes. Mum, this is Alessandra.

Pat: Hello, deary. You must be Emmy’s partner. I’m Pat, Emmy’s mother. It’s great to meet you.
Alessandra: Hello, Mrs Bedlington. I’m pleased to make your acquaintance.

I’m guessing that must have been strange for Alessandra. I mean, you’d be a bit freaked out if you were meeting your dead mother-in-law’s ghost for the first time, right?

Alessandra has been doing well at teaching Aimee her skills. Aimee doesn’t seem that enthusiastic.

Alessandra: Come on, Aimee! Come to Mummy!

Aimee: *thinking* If my Watcher had bought the Gold version of Aurora Skies, I could be doing this myself with the toddler walker premium content. Oh yes, she couldn’t spare just a few more of her precious pounds...
Aimee: *out loud* No.

Karin comes to our house a lot. Mum never seems that impressed.

Casie: Sorry to disturb you guys but would you GET A ROOM!

But she showed us. Oh yes, she got her own back on me...

Luke: Just look away.
Karin: ...

Chapter 24 - The Sandwich Chapter (Don't Eat It!)
« Reply #78 on: August 03, 2013, 08:14:04 AM »
This is what I call a ‘Sandwich Chapter’. It’s the little bit that goes between the big bits. It is not a chapter you can eat though. If you try and bite your computer screen, you’ll damage your teeth. You have been warned...

Our Bedlington Wall of Achievement has been updated. It now includes Auntie Emmy’s High School awards and diploma and also some new photos. One is of her and Alessandra which they had taken at the Summer Festival and the other is me and Karin at our prom.

Marion’s child days seemed to fly by and soon she was having her birthday. It was so weird seeing my baby sister become a teenager. She should still be playing with dolls and drinking milk from a baby bottle...

She decided to decide her hair bright pink. I don’t know how she got away with that but she did. It's not fair. When I asked Dad if I could have a tail he said no! How is pink hair any different?

She insisted on me showing you ALL of her outfits. I explained the 25 screenshot thing but she said her works of art needed to be shared with all her followers.

You’ll be seeing a lot of her formal wear because she’s proper now. I don’t think there’s anything proper about most of her outfits but she said her ‘properness’ doesn’t apply to fashion. Whatever...

She got straight to work on her fashion drawing. She’s very serious about it.

But she still has time to look after her little cousin.

Granny Pat looks over her and she smiles at how well her grandchildren are doing. She has 4 now: me, Marion, Aimee and Warren, Uncle Simon and Auntie Bridgette’s son that I’ve never met.

Dad bought me a chemistry set to improve my logic. He told me not to try anything that could potentially blow up the house or make a mess on the floor. I promised but I’m not sure I can do anything to prevent the house blowing up...

Well, actually I think Karin did mind the casual outfit. I think she's desperately trying not to look at her date in the limo. :)

Little Aimee is becoming quite the character - love her. Lot of pink going on, so I am glad that Aimee had her own way. (Pink is so not my favourite colour.)

Pink. Very, very pink. :P

Very cute chapter. :) Good to see that Luke and Karin are still together and happy, and the same for Emmy and Alessandra! Aimee's sarcasm is just hilarious!

Regarding his prom clothes; it could have been worse. He tried two times before that to go in his Outerwear which I never thought to design because all seasons except summer are turned off. So, it would have been a ugly, random, non-recoloured coat instead of the neon green wellies!

I love Aimee to bits, too. Pink just seems to be invading this story at the moment. It's a bit annoying that Marion's favourite colour is hot pink. Her hair clashed with the pink so I just gave in and dyed it. But she's got an all pink wardrobe, pink hair, a pink room, it's driving me crazy! I hope to keep the next house mostly pink-free!

I know the feeling about pink.  I have to admit that I despise the color so much that I will be announcing that I am cheating and doing a random color change whenever I get pink.

Chapter 25 - Preparing to Go (Part 1)
« Reply #84 on: August 05, 2013, 03:09:09 PM »
I swear all my relatives have some sort of fast aging bug. Aimee is a child already! She had her birthday on the floor because we all forgot about her. Sorry Aimee!

She’s a very pretty little girl.

She decided to stick with her black leather jacket, despite her parents being rather disapproving about it.

She finally got her own non-pink bedroom, next to Marion’s. They’re best friends so they insisted on being right next to each other.

But all of what I have told you so far means nothing compared to what I’m about to tell you know. You may be so shocked that your eyeballs may pop out in surprise. You have been warned...

So what is this news? Well...

MUM’S HAVING ANOTHER BABY!

Am I happy? NO! I thought I’d had enough of these stupid, screamy blankets. But NO! Why do they want another BABY? They have two teenage kids. They’re OLD! Urgh...

Actually, I lie. Not two teenage kids. One teenage kid and one young adult kid. Yes, I had my YA birthday! Karin had just become a young adult so it was finally my turn to join her.

Not sure about this hair... makeover time!

Adult clothes are so average. There should be more costumes, like dinosaurs.

I quickly ran out to go and see Karin.

It was a shame that we were stuck behind the toilets. But suddenly, they just disappeared.

Watcher: I’m not having any toilets ruining MY screenshots!

Meanwhile, Auntie Emmy was having her adult birthday.

She wasn’t happy with those bunches so she headed to the mirror to get her old hair back.

They were packing to leave; Emmy, Alessandra and Aimee. They had become accustomed to life in Monte Vista and didn’t want to leave now. Anyway, Alessandra’s only family, her two sisters, were there, as was Simon and Bridgette. So they were going to move to a new house in Monte Vista while the rest of us moved towns. Aimee was sad to say goodbye to Marion.

Aimee: I’ll miss you, Marion.
Marion: I’ll miss you too, little Aimee.

Aimee: For once in my life, I don’t have a sarcastic comment to make. But I do have this for you.

Marion: Really? For me? Thanks, Aimee.

Dad and Auntie Emmy said farewell, too. They’d been through a lot together and they were really going to miss each other.

Now there was only one thing left to do...

Luke: Karin, you’re the best friend, the most gorgeous girlfriend and the best crime solving assistant I could ever hope to have. Karin, will you marry me and be my Watson forever?

Karin: Oh my God! Yes, yes, YES!

Karin: Oh, Luke, it’s gorgeous!

Luke: I love you.
Karin: I love you, too.

We didn’t want a big fancy wedding. We were happy because we were finally going to be together.

We went straight home and I ran into Granny Pat’s ghost and told her the big news.

She seemed thrilled about it.

But that’s the last I’d see of Granny Pat, Auntie Emmy, Alessandra, Aimee and our Monte Vista house. We were moving. This time, it was going to be a little more... tropical.

Goodbye, Monte Vista.

Thanks, bubbles. This actually is only my second  move, though it feels like I've been playing this family forever!

Note: I've lost some pictures from the new town because I don't clear my screenshots out very often and it seems some of them have been replaced. Basically, I don't have some of them any more. I had some on a word document and I might be able to find a way to save them as separate pictures and use them. But I'll have to work around it and re-write the first few chapters. I'll get the new couple of chapters up as soon as I can

Chapter 26 - Sneaking and Nooboos
« Reply #88 on: August 05, 2013, 04:19:02 PM »
Welcome to our home in Sunlit Tides! It’s got four bedrooms, including one that’s separate to the main house. That’s for Marion. She says she can’t put up with my madness for the rest of her teen days. I think she was having a mood swing...

Ground floor:

Top floor:

Marion’s room:

We didn’t do much to the house, because it was almost perfect as it was. But one thing we did do was turn one of the spare bedrooms into a nursery.

Karin finally got her makeover in Sunlit Tides style:

It’s very beautiful here, but even in paradise there are criminals! Crimes that must be solved using logic and powers of deduction! That’s why I’ve signed up as a private investigator!

I headed off in my not-so-cool family car to meet my first client.

She explained her problem but the only words I picked up on were ‘computer’ and ‘hack’. Let’s do this thing!

My instinct took me to the house of the suspected criminal. I’d have to hack his computer. But first, I needed to break in...

Picking the lock was no problem.

I had to be super sneaky... (which is hard when you're not wearing sneakers)

Ah, this should be a piece of cake... (Mmm... cake)

Uh-oh!

Girl: Hey! What are you doing in my house? Get out!

So I left. Hmm, maybe I’ll have to try a new tactic tomorrow.

I had a bit of a surprise waiting for me when I got back. Mum had gone into labour.

Where was Dad? Outside on the slide, that’s where!

Mum had a baby boy, that they named Jack. Wow, I’m an adult and I have a baby brother. Crazy, right?

Urgh, I thought I’d had enough of babies by now! He just cries and cries and cries! Who’d want a baby?

Sorry about the small pictures. I lost the original ones but I had most of them saved in a Word document which I had to copy and paste into Paint. There's only one more chapter where this has happened and then I should be okay.

Chapter 27 - ...

Karin...
Is...
Having...
A...
BABY!

For once, I don’t mind the thought of more nooboos. If they’re anything like Karin, then I’ll love them to pieces.
She told me and I can’t tell you how happy I was.

I gave her some flowers. She deserves to be treated like a queen!

I also give her special scuba massages.

Luke: So there’s definitely a baby in there? You’re not just fa--
Karin: *glares*
Luke: Okay, it’s DEFINITELY a baby... *gulp*

Her tummy kept getting bigger and bigger. Seriously, are babies THAT big?

Then, in just three days, it was time for the nooboo to arrive. Mum got panicky, despite the fact she’d done this three times before.

It was a long struggle (for her, not me. I had a long nap and drank endless cups of coffee) but they eventually arrived. Yes, I did say THEY. We had twins! Double trouble. And we were lucky enough to get a girl and a boy. Karin named the girl Eleanor (we’ll call her Ellie) and I got to name the boy. Can you guess what I named him?
