I've created a family tree for the Bedlingtons so you can keep track of who everyone is and how they relate to the starting couple.

Bedlington Family Tree

Note: The family tree does contain spoilers including pictures.

Note: Starlight Shores is missing because I lost the code for Showtime.

Note 2: I've also decided that traits will be random instead of lifetime wishes. I just think it makes things a lot more interesting and it means I can tackle some traits that I've never touched before and also have more interesting characters. The LTWs will be picked from the 5 options that come up or they may be determined at the child/teen stages.

Note 3: I reshuffled my towns and put them in a spoiler just so it can be a surprise for readers to where the family goes next. You can look at the town order by checking the spoiler and also the couple that lived there (e.g Bertram "Bert" & Patricia "Pat" Bedlington in Appaloosa Plains)

Meet the Bedlington couple, consisting of Patricia and Bertram , and their dog, Buckley, who reside in a large house in the Appaloosa Plains countryside. Now, if you ignore Patricia's bump and the lack of walking canes, you'd assume they were elders. Wrong! These guys are young adults and they have PLENTY of time for ugly elder clothes. So, from now on, they're to be known as Bert and Pat.

Both: Did we approve of this?

Watcher: Nope, but it's what I'm going to do. Now, Bert, you're heading off for a makeover! Time to lose that cap!

Bert: Noooo, not the cap! Please, anything but the cap!

Watcher: Mwahahaha!

Here's the new, younger looking Bert. The cap has been whipped off, his glasses have been updated and he's dressed head-to-toe in his favourite colour green. The checked shirt keeps in with the Appaloosa

Pat will get her makeover later, when the baby's born.

Bert: Ah, Patricia, how fine you are looking today!

Pat: Dear Bertram, my heart flutters when you hold my hand.

Watcher: *scans romantic actions* Wait... you haven't kissed?! How can you be having a baby together without even kissing each other?!

Pat: Bertram and I do not feel that the act of joining lips can feeling express our feelings for each other.

Watcher: Bert, kiss her.

Bert: I don't think--

Watcher: KISS HER NOW!

Bert: Alright, bossy boots...

Bert: Hmm, that wasn't so bad.

Pat: Agreed. Again?

I redecorated two bedrooms, creating a nursery and updating Pat and Bert's master bedroom.

So, that's all for now *clicks blue dots in corner*

Bert: No! Wait, we'll do some more flirting!

Watcher: Sorry guys, I need to go...

Pat: Nooooo! We need a Watcher to make us young again! I'll have the baby if you want! It's about to come any minute.

*closes laptop*

Pat & Bert: *claws at the screen* Come and play with us, Watcher!

Slightly creepy... *whistles*

Yes, and I'm still getting used to the new mousepad, which is very different from my old one. I also have improved graphics so I can't wait to see what my favourite towns, such as Monte Vista and Sunlit Tides, look like with more detail  :D

It's nice to see your story again, Snuffles :)
You did a great job there making those ugly creatures umm... elderly look into something else ;D
I'll follow this one too. Good luck!

I always thought Bertram was an elder, But hes not. :) Learn something everyday. You did a great job at giving him a makeover, and the house re decoration looks great.

Chapter 1 - A nooboo is born!
« Reply #6 on: April 25, 2013, 02:25:30 PM »
Late at night, Pat went into labour. It seemed Bert wasn't good enough to help her. He went back to bed almost straight away!

She drove herself to the hospital. Bert was still snoring away in his comfy bed.

Shortly after arriving, Pat gave birth to Simon, a virtuoso who loves the outdoors

When Pat returned home with the baby, she found this...

Great, not only did Bert miss the birth of his first child, he also let a burglar in. I'm not sure what she took but she got away with it.

Now that she was freed from those awful maternity clothes, she decided to get a makeover. She was tired of that dull blonde colour so she dyed it a funky red, with red clothes to match.

Pat: Hmm, I'm not sure about this sleepwear.

Watcher: At least it has stockings.

Pat: True, true...

In other news, Bert has been interacting with Simon the Burrito. He's cute, but not as cute as he will be when he's a toddler!

Pat also loves her little Simon, despite disliking children.

Bert had his first day of work (as a fan) and was thrilled to have his cap back, even if it was for only a few hours.

Pat, still on maternity leave, started on her athletics, which will go towards her performance as a criminal. She seemed to be having fun.

So, life's good for our family so far. Big house, careers getting off the mark, beautiful baby boy. But who knows what awaits the Bedlington family in the future? Stay tuned to find out!

Bert: You make our lives look like a soap opera!

Watcher: It pretty much is.

Bert: Great, you uncover us and then make a show of us! I bet most people didn't even know I was a young adult!

Watcher: Do you like looking like an elder?

Bert: *mumbles* No...

Watcher: Good then! Bye!

Chapter 2 - The Dog, the Horse and the Baby

Since having Simon, Pat has been very bored. I mean, you can only have so much working out, right?

Pat: Right.

So she decided to get a horse! Meet Asta, who is a lovely elder horse.

I gave her a 'makeover' because her colours weren't that exciting.

But that's not all! She has her Bert to entertain her too!

Ah, is that chimes I hear?

Pat: It better not be. I can't stand children...

Watcher: It's not like you have a newborn baby or anything then...

Simon wasn't a particularly interesting nooboo. I suppose none of them are really, they're just heads, arms and blankets. So he had his birthday and is now a very cute toddler.

He mostly favours his dad and they instantly bond. They love to go out on walks together in the stroller.

Simon: Nom, nom, nom!

Bert: I can't wait until the day he can do this by himself.

Simon: *Gurgle*

Pat: Urgh, I feel like I'm going to be sick.

Pat: Bleh!

And the cause of this sickness is soon discovered...

Pat: Not more children. Honestly, why does this keep happening to me?

Watcher: Would you like me to explain? It's very simple.

Pat: No, no...

Pat decides to take her mind off the upcoming nooboo by interacting with the one she already has. She may dislike children, but she's a good teacher.

Bert keeps Buckley busy by taking him out for long walks. Maybe a man and his dog just want to escape from the cries of a nooboo and the whines of a pregnant wife.

However, he does find time to teach little Simon how to walk.

And here's the end result of all those walking lessons. Isn't he a little darling?

Pat: Ah! Labour!

Bert: I'll go to bed, shall I?

Pat: No way! You're taking me to the hospital this time!

Pat: This wasn't what I'd had in mind! And why did you bring Simon?

Bert: We need to teach him about these things early! He'll enjoy it.

Pat: My toddler son is NOT going to watch me GIVE BIRTH!

Bert: Okay, if you say so dear... *hums*

After a short time in hospital, Pat emerges with yet another boy. His name is Hugo and he's good and loves the outdoors.

Welcome to the world Hugo!

This is a cute story so far. I've never paid too much attention to the Bedlingtons in Appaloosa Plains (I'm usually busy with the Martingales) but they are actually a very lovely looking couple.

I've never seen a toddler brought along to the hospital before. Poor Pat! Having to deal with that and giving birth! Great update!

A great start! I love how you've decided to make Pat bond with her children, even though she should, in theory, hate them.

Sorry for the lack of updates recently but I just haven't felt like playing Sims at the moment (yes, I really just did type that!) but I promise I'll get playing soon and I'll pen the next chapter  :D
