Yes! I've heard that windows can help, sadly I've never used a mac in my life so I'm going to have to find my way around it before I even play the sims on it! They also have I think two video cards in it? I'm not sure though.

I don't know....but if there is two, you can choose which one you want it to run on.

What's good about bootcamp is that you can run BOTH Windows AND Mac OS at the same time.  :)

I'm not up to speed on the iMac specs, but I was using a 2007 Macbook right up until the new year (running all EPs up to that point, so just not UL??) It ran just fine for me, and I actually have had more random bugs and glitches on my PC now. From what Google tells me about your graphics card, it looks pretty solid :)

Thanks.  :) I used to have all settings on high until seasons. It totally destroyed my game, I couldn't play for 5 minutes without graphic glitches and crashing. It calmed down after a while, but I had to turn my settings all the way down. Then came Uni, it destroyed it again. I had to uninstall Pets AND Seasons just to get it to work. And it still crashes sometimes.

I have a mid-2011 and it works perfectly fine, so maybe just late-2011-2013?

I think the mac that I'm going to get will work fine with the sims 3, it's going to be intel i5 and not PowerPC which doesn't work with the sims 3. Even though it says on the sims 3 base game specs that the gtx video card series works or not, but I put that down to not even been invented then. It does say on the sims 3 seasons specs that the GT and GTX GeForce series works with the sims 3 and other people have said it works so that's good. I'm going to order more RAM when I order it as well.

Can anybody tell me if the sims 3 causes any problems when using app games?

Hi

Got everything mac at my place, and I think Macs are great, however I have had many bugs and glitches with the sims, and double that  Since I installed seasons and uni, nothing to do with Mac though, I think EA are still getting to grips with its capability.... It's a long process, but if your patient you can still play :-)

Hope your not too disappointed, on a side note I used to always have a pc with windows, it didn't like sims 3 much either!!

Yeah, my game was much more laggy on PC, so Mac isn't that bad.

Edit: What do you mean by using app games? Do you mean like will it work if other applications are running? If so, yes, but it will be a tad bit slower. Quitting applications before playing should make it fine.  :)

I don't think so, I have a mid-2011 too and I've had some problems, do you have a 27'? I hear those work better than mine, which is a 21'.
