Chapter 6 - Still More to Come

"Mother? What are you doing here?"
"Good evening, Azure. You could be a little more enthusiastic to see your mother, couldn't you?"

I just blink at her, stunned.
"I'm here about your child."
"Snow? Why"
"She's a... complication. We didn't think to prepare for something like this."
"What do you mean, 'prepare'?"
"She's half star child, half mortal. Nothing like this has ever happened before. Usually a Fallen like you serves out their time as a mortal without finding love or having children. You would be the exception, wouldn't you?" my mother said, sighing wearily.
"Why are you here?"
"I'm warning you. I really shouldn't be here, but I thought you should know that your father is not pleased. He's not sure what to do, but I know that you won't like it."

"What do you mean, I won't like it? Is he going to take my nooboo?" I demand.
"That's a possibility we've discussed."
"You leave her alone!"
"I just came here to warn you."
"Messaged recieved. Don't you have somewhere to be?" I hiss, glancing at the conspicious dark hole in the sky.

"Don't I even get to see my granddaughter?" Mother said, voice dripping with sarcasm.
"You don't even get to go near her."
"Goodbye, Azure," she whispers scathingly. "See you again very soon."

I stand, frozen with shock, as she blinks out and the moon begins shining again in the sky.

*************************************

It's hard to pretend like nothing is wrong to my oblivious family, but I try my best not to worry them. Besides, we've got something else to worry about. Yumi is 92 now, and we're just waiting for her visit from Grim. I really wish she didn't have to go away. What's disturbing is that Yumi seems obssessed with death to a certain degree. Look at the snowmen she makes!

They days seemed to fly by between my little girl's birth and when she aged up. Sam, surprisingly, was a great help with his little sister. They are so sweet together!

Honestly, I was looking forward to her aging up. Babies are boring, they don't do anything at all. Toddlers are exciting and sweet and you can teach them things! We threw her a big party on Snowflake Day, which was a really neat coincidence if you ask me.

Her sparkles came...

Yumi found it all very amusing...

Squee!

Isn't she the most adorable little girl you have ever seen? Of course we fixed her up right away in her favourite colour, hot pink. She loves the snow!

Once all the guests left I got us all a Snowflake Day present. We've been making enough money to get by lately, so I got a new nursery for Snow.

Then I ripped out the walls between the adult's bedrooms and the main area to creat a new little family room.

Then I built new bedrooms for us in the new expansion to our house.

It's great! I'm so glad we finally have room to stretch our legs, with a TV to occupy us, a computer for Sam to continue writing, and an excercise machine so that Leighton doesn't have to go to the gym as often. He's still not here a whole lot, though.

Sam is still a great help with Snow! They are very adorable together.

"Okay Snow, you can do this."
"Ga!"

"That's right. Come to big brother!"

"Weee!"
"You did it!

"I wuv you big bwover."
"I love you too, Snow."

I must admit to being just a tiny bit jealous. I'm so busy with work that I don't get to spend as much time with her as I'd like.

I wasn't going to reveal this yet, but Leighton and I are trying for another little nooboo. I know it's a bit early, what with Snow not even in school yet, but Leighton's Lifetime Wish is to raise five children, and we're not going to stay young forever!

Author's Note: Sorry this one took so long! I have been super busy for the last week, but I got back on it as soon as I could. Hope you enjoy!

Chapter 7 - Add One, Take One Away

So, I got pregnant again. No surprise there, right?

Leighton, being the wonderful husband that he is, reacted exactly the same way as last time.

I'm so excited! Snow isn't going to be a toddler for much longer, and I just want a perfect cuddly little toddler forever.

"Where did Snow go?" That's her favourite game.

Sam went to his prom. He got Prom King, which is surprising given that the snow hasn't even allowed him to go to school yet. He met a girl there, Bella, I think, and apparently they had a great time.

Leighton had his adult birthday. I think he was quite nervous about it, although he would never admit it. In the morning I made him his favourite food, pancakes, and then we threrw him a party. He didn't appreciate the audiance, but he blew out his candles (much to Yumi's delight) and sparkled.

He immedietly covered his face in horror and ran to the bathroom in full midlife crisis mode. His first wish was to grow some facial hair. I'm really not sure how I feel about this.

Then I noticed Sam taking his chance during all the commotion to sneak a moment with that Bella girl, who he invited.

Just then the unthinkable happened, at the worst possible time. Yumi has left us.

We ended the party, as it seemed a little inappropriate given the circumstances. She was 96, so it wasn't unexpected, but the passing of my first true friend was a slap in the face on what should have been an excellent day. One for celebration. We've all been dealing with her absence in different ways. Sam has thrown himself into his painting.

Leighton spends a lot of time at the gym.

I've finally mastered cooking.

Snow doesn't seem to have grasped what happened, which isn't surprising given her age.
"Is grama coming back soon?"

And a few days later, my new little girl came! She's sweet and soft as my Snow. She is a loner and a slob, which isn't the best luck for trait rolls, but I'm confident that she'll be a good girl. Leighton and I named her Laila.

We put her in Yumi's old room and painted it lilac, Laila's favourite colour. Snow likes to spend just as much time in there as she does in her own room.

Again the days flew by between her birth and her first birthday. We didn't throw a real party for her this time, just a quiet gathering of our family. It felt wrong without Yumi there to laugh at her.

Look at those eyes! She's magical, like a little girl out of a fairy tale.

The very next day it was Snow's child birthday. We threw a party for her, and Sam once again invited that Bella. She'd already aged up to a young adult though, which dissapointed him. I suppose I can see why Sam fell for her, since she's quite beautiful, although she did seem a little dazed compared to his intellect.

Snow did her very best to blow out the candles on her own when her time came, which was adorable.

Then the sparkles came and did their magic, stripping away her soft chubbiness and replacing it with something... quite stunning, actually.

I have no idea where she got that chestnut brown hair, but those amazing eyes are my shape and Leighton's colour. She's clearly going to be the most beautiful girl in the world, if she isn't already, and she rolled the Family Oriented trait to go along with her Good and Light Sleeper.

In other news, Sam's finished a portrait of me. He said he wanted to capture everyone just as they are now, so that even when we're old and faded or even gone we'll still be remembered youthful and full of life. I think he feels guilty for not painting Yumi before she passed.

He also crafted a book for me to write these thoughts in, which was very kind of him. I don't know what we'd do without Sam, really.

Author's Note: I have never had a toddler age up as beautifully as Snow! Plus, her traits are really good considering that they're random rolls.

Chapter 8 - Ain't No Rest for the Wicked

Let me just preface this enty by saying that I havn't had a full night's sleep in at least three days. I've managed to sneak in a few minutes of dozing here and there, but I am exhausted and going mildly insane. We'll get back to that.

The first thing is Sam. Leighton's mid-life crisis bothered me but at least the only things he actaully did was grow a beard and switch careers. Teenager's moodswings are like they're having a crisis every few days.

Case in point:

Yeah, his hair's green. He says it's "chill". I really hope he comes to his senses when he ages up.

Next, I got pregnant AGAIN. We really want to get Leighton's Lifetime Wish rolling, and he'll be an elder in about a week.

Then we had Sam's birthday. He is now Artistic, Hates the Outdoors, Excitable, Star Quality, and Heavy Sleeper.

Thankfully he got rid of that hair before hunting down Bella and letting her know that he's a fully eligible man now.

My pregnancy flew by this time, though I got bigger than ever. Can you guess why?

This is Azrael, who is brave and loves the cold.

This is Liwet, eccentric and grumpy.

And this is Abdiel, who hates the outdoors and is perceptive.

Yeah, THREE nooboos. Now do you understand why I'm just a little tiny bit sleep deprived? Oh and about their names, they're named after my brothers (but only the ones who didn't try to murder me). Sam, once again, has been a life saver. I still had several days of maternity leave when they were born, but with Leighton busy working long hours at the Fire Station, it's hard to take care of three nooboos when you're one person. That's where Sam comes in.

He's already helped care for his other two half-siblings, so he's well practiced in the art of parenting. He's even managed to find spare time to work on his painting career.

He actually mastered painting. Strangely, even though he Hates the Outdoors, he usually only paints outdoor scenes.
So we take care of the three little screamers together, at all hours of day and night.

Oh, and at the same time we're still taking care of Laila. Thank the Watcher that she grew up only a few days after they were born, or we really wouldn't be able to stand it. We threw another one of our endless parties for her, since we seem to have one every few days.

She's lovely, with her silky hair, piercing eyes, and colour sense that's a little easier to look at than our bright-loving Snow.

We got her a tree house for her birthday, but she spends most of her time in her room alone, reading or playing with her dolls.

She gained the Star Quality trait, which seems to go against her Loner and Slob, but maybe she'll find fame somehow by sitting alone in her messy room. For now, though, I'm the only celebrity in the house, with one star. The press didn't even notice when my adult birthday rolled around. To be fair, even I didn't realize it was coming. It quite startled me when my sparkles came.

Next time: LOTS of birthdays. Like, way too many birthdays

Author's Note: 500 views! You guys are awesome. I know that's not a whole lot in the big picture, but it's more than I expected. ;D

Now that I think about it, Leighton really does have the perfect traits for a firefighter. Snow and Laila are adorable, and I can't wait to see what the triplets look like when they get older. :)

Chapter 9 - Speeding Ahead

Azreal, Liwet, Abdiel, and Snow all had their birthdays at the same time. There were too many sparkles to capture them all, so I'll just show you the finished products.

Here's Azrael.

Abdiel.

Liwet.

And finally Snow.

Aren't they all just the most gorgeous creatures you ever saw? Azrael got the same strange chestnut hair as Snow, and Abdiel and Liwet also look a lot like her with the shape of my eyes and the colour of Leighton's. Family resemblance is clear in my little babies. And Snow. Wow. I was anxious to see her all grown up, much as I loved her bright, loud, happy childhood, but I am not disappointed. She's incredible, isn't she? She now Loves the Outdoors. She helps out with the boys, which is good, because we need all the help we can get getting them all skilled up in one week.

I guess it doesn't really matter long term if we get to choose their traits, because they'll be random anyways, but Leighton and I will get a mountain of Lifetime Happiness Points if we can manage it.

Leighton's been really busy at his new job, fighting fires all over Sunset Valley. Here's his first big house fire:

Meanwhile I've finally gone back to work after what felt like forever in maternity leave.

Laila attempted a short lived business venture. She started by trying to bake.

The she tried to sell the burnt goods on the street. Look at Christopher's hilariously tiny wings!

No one bought anything, and this one guy started rummaging through our garbage after he was done crushing my daughter's dreams.

Sometime I just don't know what Leighton's doing. A few days ago he thought that this would be a good idea.

He also seems to have acquired a bug that forces him to dash everywhere in a panic.

Leighton and I have gotten quite a few admirers over the years, who's attraction has turned into something very close to stalking. They keep sending us gifts in the mail and usually I ignore them and send them to storage, but today I looked in there... and...

Those tapestries, which there are four of? They're worth OVER SEVEN THOUSAND SIMOLEANS. EACH. I think it might be time to upgrade a bit, but first the week had already passed, and it was time for my three babies to grow up again.

Blow...

Sparkle...

AHHHH

Luckily they all filled out to perfect little boys that aren't disturbingly deformed.

Here's Azrael, who is now Rebellious. This should be fun.

Liwet, who Loves the Heat.

And finally Abdiel, who is a Light Sleeper.

Next time: Upgrades!

Author's Note: Thanks for your kind comments guys, it means a lot  ;D
Is there something I need to do to make the thread have more than one page? Because this one page is very long.

The kids are very good-looking! By the way, the pretty chestnut hair is from Yumi Sekemoto. She's a real stunner as a young adult.
I expect Azokka either to yell at everyone and totally dominate or else get out the popcorn.-Ombradellarosa

Chapter 10 - My Last Entry

This will be the last time I write to you. You see, it is almost my Snow's birthday, and I plan on giving
her this book so that she can continue the legacy. I am fading now, creeping towards elderhood, and
Snow is bright and happy and full of life. It is her turn now to take up the torch.

She is busy studying, ready for graduation. Last week was her prom. She went in typical Snow style,
the brightest pink dress she could find.

She came back flushed and excited, with the Queen's crown on her head.
Her little sister Laila has aged up to a teen, and a beautiful one at that.

She now Loves the Heat. Predictably she spent the rest of her party reading in her room, away from all
the commotion.

She spends a lot of time alone, which worries me a bit. I hope that she's not too introverted when she
grows up.
Meanwhile Leighton has used his Lifetime Reward Points to buy himself a Moodlet Manager. I'm
beginning to wonder if those things are addictive. He hasn't slept in nearly a week and a half,
because every time he gets sleepy, fatigued, hungry, or anything else, he just zaps himself with it.

He literally spent every night jogging to the other side of town and back. He said that he'd been
running around 45 kilometers every night, and he wanted to run a total of 500 before his Elder birthday.
He also ran to and from work which made another 15k per day. For his credit, he almost made it, as he
was at about 460k when I called him on his jog and insisted that he come home for his birthday party.
He showed up, barely, and was horrified at all the candles on his cake.

"Do I have to?" he whined. I just gave him my best menacing stare and he reluctantly blew
out his candles.

Then he was old. As you can see from my face, I was a tiny bit shocked. I couldn't believe that the
dashing young man that I married is old now, and I will be soon too.

He looks pretty good for his age, obviously due to all of the jogging he's been doing. Right after he
fixed his hair and clothed he retired, getting his share of confetti and sasquatch signs.

Immedietly he went jogging again, and hit 500k before the end of the night.

He says that means that he'll be sticking around for a good long while. I'm glad, because he's nearly a
week older than me and I don't want to live long without him.
The house is never quiet with our three boys running around making noise. There's Abdiel,
imaginative but relatively calm compared to his brothers.

Azrael is very loud in a little boy sort of way. He's alway's disturbing Laila's solitary reading in the
sitting room.

Liwet is probably the loudest of them all, but not because he's dashing through the house screaming,
like Azrael. He spends most of his time in the inventing room we built for him, making all sorts of
metallic noise.

The other day we had quite a scare when we heard screeches of terror from his room. It turned out that
he'd just had his first butt fire. He takes after his mommy, doesn't he?

It's a good thing we thought ahead for that sort of thing and put a shower in there.
Soon it was time for them to age up to teens. I have to admit to being just a little bit nervous, because
for a few days we had five teens in one house. We threw a party for them (of course). Abdiel, as usual,
went first. He blew out his candles, and aged up to a wonderful young man who is now Brooding. I'd say his face is about an
equal mix of me and Leighton.

Next Azrael went. I'm going to miss his bright, loud childhood.

He takes after the Sekemoto side for sure, with his face, Sam's shirt, and Leighton's old hair. He's also a Computer Whiz.
Finally, last but not least, is Liwet. The birthday party took so long is was almost 11 o'clock before we
got to him. He aged up with the Equestrian trait, which is a little strange.

The very next day, their fist day of highschool, both Azrael and Liwet had a mood swing and decided to skip school together. Azrael came back right after school ended, clearly hoping to pretend like he went. Little did he know that the school has an automated calling system when a kid doesn't show up! Ha! I should have been expecting this, seeing how he's Rebellious.

Liwet, on the other had, didn't come back until far later, after his curfew. By then I was worried sick and spitting mad. He tried to explain it away with a trip to the dump to rummage for some scrap, but I wasn't having any of it.

This is it, then. I'm going to miss writing to you, you know, but I guess that's how mortals live. I'm just glad I have someone as amazing as Snow to take over. Goodbye.

Next time: Snow!

It always throws me for a loop somewhat to see favorite sims age into Elder. Leighton is certainly no exception, though as far as elders go, he's not bad looking. The kids are all lovely and I look forward to reading from Snow's perspective!
