Money tree glitch

Thanks Esther.  As I said none of my sims have the gatherer trait and not many have the green thumb.  However, they all have topped out gardening skills (I insist).  So there are no unskilled in gardening sims to harvest the plants. 
  Wouldn't their gardening skill eventually be high enough that they would also be reset?
  I love the pictures of your money trees.  Awesome.  Quite the income.

You're welcome. I don't believe the level of gardening is the issue, Luz is now level 10 and still doesn't reset. I'm not sure what causes the glitch.

I've encountered a Money Tree glitch, too.  The trees say they are ready to harvest, but my Sim doesn't get the option to harvest them or tend garden.  Does this sound like anything the rest of you have gone through?

I recently had the same thing as well, about 15 trees suddenly stuck on harvest with no actual bags on them and no option to harvest.

Planted two new trees from seeds the old ones had dropped and as soon as I did the first harvest they went like the rest, up until this happened she had been harvesting them as normal and the only thing that changed was I changed traits and gave her green thumb and gatherer.

When it happened a google search found this thread and I put it down to gatherer but now after reading what Esther said I'm curious if science has anything to do with it as I had one tree grown from a normal seed and all the rest from cloned ones, but then the dropped seeds glitched as well so maybe not.

Exactly this, yes. It happens sometimes with other plants as well, and I can't blame it on the Gatherer trait since I don't take that.

I can't blame the Gatherer trait either.  My Sim has Green Thumb, but not Gatherer.  All of my trees come from seeds that are either found or dropped from a tree.  No cloning involved.

I am starting to get a lot of plants (mostly coffee beans and herbs) that say harvest but I don't have the option to harvest or tend garden on them as they come out of dormancy. What is weird is it is only affecting about half of his garden. The first time, the coffee beans only glitched like this for the first day of summer, but then somehow reset right. My current homeless sim save, they haven't reset for three days of summer now. I am going to try to move him out and back into the lot in edit town and see if that resets them. I don't really like doing that though because it resets all of the wishes the household can roll up.

My dynasty money trees have glitched as well now, they were planted a generation ago before Uni was released and before I got Supernatural and they worked fine until this last harvest, I had given the current gardener gatherer when she got a social group trait, she also has green thumb, but if other people are getting it without those traits then I'm not sure that is the cause but I have a feeling the glitch arrived with one of those ep's as I've never had it before.

I can't remember if this was the first time she harvested them since I gave her the extra trait or not, it's a bit of a mystery but an annoying one as I've had to scrap all my trees now. I've not noticed it with any other plants though, just the money trees.

Turoskel, it's almost certainly the Gatherer trait that did it - I think the bug relates to money trees working a little differently from other plants, and there's some bonus you get from Gatherer that doesn't work properly so things get stuck. Ask for permission to change the trait, possibly?

She's a spare thankfully and an elder now, so it wont be an issue in the future, i'll just make sure to not pick that trait for whoever takes over from her and wait till she's gone to plant new trees.

Also, keep in mind that most sims can harvest without learning the Gardening skill.

My glitch is happening without the Gatherer trait. Also,  I can get maybe 2 harvests from young trees, then nothing.

I'm in Marion right now, but yes that's exactly what happened. I haven't gotten to play mine for awhile but should be going home tomorrow.
