Money tree glitch

I've had this problem for awhile now. It used to be part of the gardening glitch, but now that is fixed in my games at least. But any time my gardener harvests a money tree, he gets reset. He's able to keep the money bags, but the tree itself glitches and says harvest even though there is no option to tend garden or harvest on it. One time I planted 20 money trees, and by the time the glitch happened, he was down to 5, than the next time he harvested them, it was down to 0. Am I the only one having this happen? I did a search and no topics came up that was specific to this issue. I'm patched up to the latest, 1.50.

I had a problem with my Sim resetting while gardening, I don't know if the trees reset, but I was told that my sim with the "Gatherer" trait conflicted with the money trees and would reset because of it.  Only solution I had was to get someone else to do the money tree harvesting.

So it might be you have the "Gatherer" trait that's causing the problem, if not I've got no idea.

Me too. I wasn't able to try it, the game was so laggy I gave up and quit before her trees were grown. I'll try again tomorrow.

I'm happy to report she was able to harvest every one of her trees without getting reset.

Do plants bugged in un-harvestable harvest state like this "un-stick" with time, or do I have to re-plant? I've removed gatherer (I'd taken it through social-groups, so I had to level up a second faction), but several of my plants (including two money trees, which I lack seeds for) are still bugged after a few days.

If you move out, then move in again, the plants will reset. Otherwise they stay like that. It also happens if you try to use bloom on plants that are dormant. I plant everything indoors - but it could be good to have one outside plant to gauge whether they are dormant or not when you plant new ones. Then I grow them to mature, and leave them overnight. Then they are good to go normally. Money trees, just bloom them to mature, and leave them to do their own thing. And, sadly, avoid the gatherer trait. Perhaps leave money trees until you've made perfect plants on everything else that you want, then replacing the gatherer trait with something else before planting the money trees.

I've never had to deal with dormancy because in 98% of files I only have summer, but on the ones that do have fall or winter, don't have plants so I don't know about it.

However I've dealt with the glitched trees, so I can safely say I've always had to replant, so I don't think it unglitches.

I'd like to show off what I had been working on ever since I found out why my money trees were glitching.

That is money trees completely surrounding the swiftgro station. Except for one of course, so she can get in there and harvest. On average I've been getting over 150 bags and making above $60,000!

I'm glad it helped.  I was having the same problems (money tree + Gatherer trait) and it was driving me crazy, glad it worked for you!  now you can sit back and be rich off your trees... oh to find a real life money tree!

Me too! I'd been having it ever since the gatherer trait, but I didn't know why I used to be able to grow multiple ones but couldn't now. So thanks for telling me why! I agree, I would LOVE to have a real life money tree!

Ok, now I'm having problems again! Cornelia, the woman in the above pictures, was a level 10 gardener, supermaxed gardening. Mortimer got married to Bella so I switched to playing the Bachelor's. I gave Bella green thumb and gatherer, got her to make everything perfect, than removed gatherer and had her plant money trees.

I used the sunlight from the stones throw greenhouse to make them grow quickly, as I'm wanting to switch households again. She than had the glitch where she would harvest one, reset. So I removed the green thumb as well and added loves the outdoors. She's also a level 10 scientist so she analyzed 175 money tree seeds, cloned 150 and planted them around 2 of the swift-gro stations. Once they were all fully mature the slow way, she went to harvest, and got reset again.

So I'm wondering if it's only the first house you play that you can get rid of the glitch, or what? It's irritating to have worked so long and hard on a single problem, just to have them glitch out.

I also have this problem.  None of my sims have this 'gatherer trait' (I don't have Seasons or Super Natural installed - does it come with one of those ExPac?) and most are not super gardeners, although they all have maxed out the gardening skill and have gardens.  I had the problem with the "gardening glitch" some time ago and had to replant everything.  That fixed that issue and all was fine.

But now all the money trees are all resetting all sims (doesn't matter who does the harvesting) even when I replace the trees with new ones.  Sadly, I've stopped planting them and have gotten rid of all of them.  Hopefully, this will be fixed in the next patch.  I love the money trees.

How I got around it was having another sim without green thumb or gatherer harvest them. Luz is doing fine and never resets.

I can't remember what EP had gatherer, it was one of the most recent ones so either UL Seasons or SN. I just checked the guide and gatherer came with supernatural.

I love them too. Which is why I was so frustrated, but I got another person to do it just fine. Hopefully you can figure out a way around it too.
