This is a really cool idea! It opens up to a whole different range of Simmers. I like it!

So many themes you could choose from.....Under the Sea......create a Sim, seafaring style, modern or not, fantasy or not,  or......Witches, the Good and the Bad......ala Disney or not.....ala Grimm Brothers or not......scifi/fantasy or not......or....Prince of My Dreams,   The Perfect Princess,  My Favorite Disney Character, etc. etc. etc.  I am so going to love this contest.
What?  Grannies can't play games?

One Idea I have: Take the ugliest, ill-dressed, sim you could find and do an extreme makeover without changing the skin color [if it's a rainbow sim].

Do tell me that they won't all be duplicating a sim from a picture, like the current one. Perhaps we could make a sim best suited for founding a project or challenge. (But in the case of a challenge, the sim can't be used to enter-by anyone.) Say if you choose the apocalypse challenge, The sim would be dressed in rags but sport traits like Athletic, Handy, Natural Cook. (I am aware that the sim's traits are supposed to be randomized, but if they didn't have to be.)

I do agree that I am hopeful for non-picture Sims, as well. If the contest is based off of an archetype instead of a specific person, than you may end up with more varied entries and give even more opportunities for the creator to give their own touch. I do believe that's the direction you were going towards in the first place, but I just want to make that point.

I would love to see some create a family CAS competitions as well. Complete with back story and eligible for download both as separate sims and as a household.

I'd love to see something where we would create the family members of already existing characters. Say for example, what do people think that VJ and Miraj Alvi's mother looked like? Or maybe Don Lothario has a long-lost sister somewhere? That might be fun.

Saltpastillen's idea of families sounds like a blast too. Creating a full family and their backstory would really excite the creativity!

We're not asking that you make a Sim duplicating the picture.  The picture of Elvis, for example, is just to make sure everyone knows what he looks like and that it's the young Elvis we're looking for.  But you absolutely don't have to simply duplicate that picture.  You're welcome to research pictures and information of Elvis to get ideas on exactly how to make him.

I don't think she means that she's just duplicating the picture. I think she's just hoping that not all of the contests are simply recreations of a specific person. Does that make sense?

If you've been wondering where the Feedback thread disappeared to, it was decided that it might be best to give people a chance to see a few of the contests first, so folks would have a better idea of what it's all about.  Now that we're beginning Contest #5, I think it's time to reinstate this Feedback thread.  Constructive comments and suggestions are welcome!  :)

Welcome back feedback, suggestions and ideas thread! I'd wondered where you went  ;)

Feedback: I've liked all the contests so far, even if I've only entered one, but the one currently running (where you design the outfits) is my favourite and I'll be entering for sure!

Ideas: I'd like to see more contests where you make Sims based on a theme instead of an actual person. So you could have a sci-fi Sim who wouldn't look out of place in Lunar Lakes or an explorer or the King of Vampires, that sort of thing. My best idea (which would work best as a Christmas contest) would be to design Santa Claus and maybe even Mrs Claus and an elf. You could also have a best Halloween costume contest.

These are all great ideas you have . The only thing that makes me quite worried, is that not enough forum members are taking part in this fun and creative contest . I really do enjoy this contest and have entered every one of them so far . I hope that you all join me and be as creative as you want and participate in the ones that you feel comfortable doing . Or , do like me , jump in with both feet and have a blast while creating it .   :D

I'd have to agree with Snuffles with her theme idea. Not only do I think they'll be even more variety in the entries than there already is, you'll be able to reach out to more people. Part of the reason I didn't enter the most recent contest is that I was not very familiar with Gilligan's Island. (the other reason is that I completely forgot about it  :P) With the themes, more people can get into it.
