Romantic interests and naughty reputation?
« on: April 19, 2013, 06:37:22 PM »
Hi everyone,

I had one romantic interest then invited a friend over then all of a sudden he is a romantic interest which I wanted because I did romantic interactions with him but now I have a naughty reputation.  Why is that?  I thought I could have as many romantic interests that I wanted.  One of the options was confess to cheating, why is that there when I'm not even married or have a boyfriend or fiance and I thought I could have more than one romantic interest.

Thanks :)

The romantic reputation system depends on how many sims you've had as romantic interests (RI's). This controls if you can get the eternally faithful moodlet as well as it can make it harder for a sim that has a naughty reputation to woo someone.

You can have as many RI's as you want, but even if you are not officially boyfriend/girlfriend or married the game treats RI's as a kind of "exclusive" relationship, so when you are RI with someone and then get another RI you have the option to confess cheating. Another thing this does it makes sims that "see" this cheating get upset. Unless you have the no jealousy LTR= life time reward (which doesn't always work). So be cautious when romancing a new sim in front of your RI.

Is there any way to turn the romantic reputation system off?  At least the completely annoying part where everyone and their brother wants to get to know my married and deeply in love couple?  You can't even just be friends without someone wanting something more, and those constant phone calls are a royal pain.

You could try earning/cheating yourself LTR points and buying "above reproach". That should exempt you from the negative parts of the system... I think. Still testing this myself.

The "Above Reproach" LTR will reset your reputation back to zero wiping out all romantic history on the stats page of the scrapbook. But you can re-establish your reputation or screw it up in the future all over again.

I'm fairly certain you're talking about the Clean Slate one, Meestor Mark.    Above Reproach just seems to mean that no one gossips about it so no random women/men will come up and slap your Sim.

Be careful about when you get the LTR "Clean Slate". It only works once.

I'd just like to turn that part off entirely.  Tired of all the phone calls, letters and "junk mail" gifts.  Anyone know how?

The Attraction system came as part of a patch.  You would have to remove the patch and lose all the content that came with it to get rid of it.  One way to help with the phone calls is to make sure that you double check they don't have profiles for online dating automatically made for them.  I've had CAS sims and teenage sims with profiles that I never put up for them.

My Sims have never used their computer so how do you set up an online profile and how do you remove/find one you never set up?

Did some looking around, and this mod may be the best bet for making the romantic reputation system work, while this mod sounds like it should make the attraction system more... sane, requiring several elements to line up with another sim before getting that attraction message. They don't look like they overlap, so the mods should be compatible with eachother.

I tried twice the deleting from the online dating for the same sim couple, even though I had never signed my sims up for it.  The only problem I had was as soon as my sim meet someone and they say the romatic remarks, they start back to getting all of the phone calls, popup messages, gifts and love letters.  A royal pain in the rear.

The easy wy is to not answer the phone ("Ignore call"). IF, it's an opportunity, you get the response regardless. IF, it's a date call, so what you missed it. Unless, you are looking for dates.
